The Big "N"

I was so sorry to read here that the big California letters are officially coming down. Every year, for the past 6 years, we have vacationed in southern California.

We always get a picture of our son in/under/around the big "N". I was hoping to get one more picture in this summer.

We do this, too...our daughter's name begins with the letter N, so every year since 2004 we have gotten a photo of her in front of the N and we compare to the year before. I'm SO SAD they're gone.

I think they should keep the letters just move them somewhere else on the resort lot, like maybe outside the parking structure!

I agree, we always took our grandkids names under the letter "G" for George and Gisle and "A" for Anne. The letters were the only thing I liked about the entrance.

I made sure and took photos with all the letters this last trip cause I knew they'd be gone by this coming October So here's my little RIP photo

I know they're going to reuse the letters around the resort somewhere. I read recently that someone mentioned they would be used somewhere around the hotels. Who knows. But some day, somewhere, they'll pop up again.

I don't understand why they are even taking them down. Unless they are changing the name of the park, they are totally relevant.

The entrance to DCA is suppose to look like a giant postcard with the letters, mural, bridge and rising sun. Now that the entire entrance is going to be redone to be a vision of 1920's California that Walt saw when he first came to California, with the Pan Pacific styled turnstiles being installed over the next 6 months, the California letters are being removed.

We did get a couple snaps of Colton on the C last week. Wish his name had started with a " less popular" letter that C and the last A with the characters had a line the whole week LOL

I am sad too! ;( We were there last May, and our kids love to take pics of themselves in and around them...we're going again this May/June, and it's going to be so weird not to see them there...sniff, sniff. I wonder what it will be like when we are there??
