We will be flying in October and will be staying 9 days.

We have 3 kids, so I will need to get some kind of milk, cereal, snacks, juice, etc. for our stay.

What is the best way to do it? Is there a place on site where we can pick up a few necessities?

I also heard of some people shipping items ahead of time to your resort? Is this still possible?

Or do you check a bag at the airport with all your goodies??

Thank YOU!!!

Hi lots of people use a company called Garden Grocer Bell services will store any perishables for you.
GG have 2 hour delivery time slots and the delivery charge is currently $12.
I am planning to do a GG order for our trip staying at OKW next year.

We bring some snacks with us but also use Garden Grocer. Once, we took a cab to Publix but it was too out of the way. Costco has shipped water bottles to our room..never tried shipping snacks from there though.

Depends on what you really need and how much you need. GardenGrocer and WeGoShop will both deliver groceries to your hotel. GardenGrocer has their selection and prices on their website, which are a bit of a markup over the store. WeGoShop is really a personal shopper, they will buy the exact brands/size you want, and even shop at the stores you want. They charge no markup, but you do have a certain convenience fee.
However, judging by what you are actually looking for, you may do better to just ship the snacks/food down, and then buy the milk on property. Yes, the milk may be a few bucks more, but the snacks, cereal etc should be cheaper. The shipping would be about the same as the delivery fee (or free if you use Amazon free shipping).
I believe that the fridges in Coronodo are the mini bar size, can't speak to the ease of fitting a gallon of milk in them. Perhaps someone else can speak to that. You may end up needing half gallons or smaller anyways.

if your family is flying southwest you are allowed to 2 bags per person for your checked luggage. i have read that some people fill one of those bags with snacks, peanut butter, breakfast items, disposable bowls etc, and buy 1/2 gallons of milk and juice as needed at the resort to stash in the room fridge. when the suitcase is empty they use it to bring home souvenirs.

last year we spent a lot of $$ out of pocket on breakfast in the food court. this year i am packing a large box of cereal, bowls, fruit cups, a bottle of apple juice, and 2-6 packs of bottled water from dollar tree. we will be putting all of this in our checked luggage and plan on getting milk and a refillable mug at the resort.

This is what we do, bringing items that are easy to transport, cereal, goldfish (or similar), powder packets for water, granola bars, etc. Then we order all the perishibles from Garden Grocer. Milk, OJ, cream cheese, bagels, case of water, etc.

It really has worked out well.

Have fun and enjoy your trip!

THanks for the help everyone!! Unfortunately we are not flying southwest. We are flying Delta and I am pretty sure it's $25 a checked bag which may work out to be cheaper than buying onsite or at a shopping service if it's that much of a mark up. I have heard that you can have items shipped to your resort ahead of time but I wasn't sure they would still hold packages for you?

I actually looked them up today and their prices were similar to what I pay at home. I live in NYC.
Since this is our first time traveling, we are not sure how much checked luggage we will actually have so we are trying to avoid having to transport snacks and especially fluids like water which are sure to be heavy.
We are hoping to each get by on a carry-on or add one large suitcase for extra items if we need it.

Thanks! I will go check it out. Do you have to be in your room waiting when they deliver or will they leave it for you??

Are you on Facebook? Search for "Personal Disney Shopper." She is awesome, and will do grocery deliveries to resorts!

We love using gardengrocer. They have wonderful customer service too. Browse the groceries on their website. prices aren't too bad and if you want something specific that is not listed, you can add it to your order form under the "comments" section and they will get it for you. If they have questions about those items or are unable to locate, they will call you. We have ordered different brands of yogurt, beer, wine, and even sand buckets w/shovels via the "comments" section.

When you place the order, you can pay via cc and later they will charge the same card for the items in the comments section. Usually around delivery time if I remember correctly. You choose a delivery time window. They will call you to advise it has been delivered to bell services. When you are ready for the groceries, just call down to bell services and they will bring them up to your room. Bell services keeps all the cold items in a big fridge as gardengrocer marks all of the "cold" bags for them and each bag has your name on them. It is really quite easy and so worth it.

We usually order a case of water, half gallons of milk, juice boxes, yogurt, pop tarts, cereal, chips/crackers/cookies, paper towels/plastic bowls/cups etc., microwave Kraft mac-n-cheese, sunblock, beer and wine. Last time they forgot to deliver a pkg of Oreos and we didn't even notice. The next day we got a so sorry phone call and the bag of Oreos was in bell servicces for us to pick up. Great service! And, you can also get a second delivery later in the trip if you forgot something or ran out of an item.

In 2008, we stayed at POFQ. I used WeGoShop to deliver snacks, water, baby food, diapers, wipes, baby bath products, etc. Everything was delivered easily and we had no problems.

In 2009, we stayed at CSR. For this trip we needed less food and more "baby type" products, so I ordered diapers, wipes, baby bath products, sippy cups, etc from diapers.com and had it shipped to CSR. The package was waiting for us when we checked in. There were no problems at all, but it seems like I remember a small fee (?) associated with Bell Services holding the pkg.

In 2010, we flew Southwest. For this trip, I packed an extra suitcase since there was no fee to check the bag.

For this trip we are staying at CSR, I am planning on shipping the package myself. I don't want to pay the extra cost of using a grocery delivery service. I would use diapers.com, but we want some grocery type products that they don't offer. I will be shipping bottled water, granola bars, peanut butter crackers, pre-pkg animal crackers and goldfish, diapers, pull-ups, wipes, baby bath products, and sippy cups. If I can get free shipping from diapers.com, I may buy what I can from them and then ship the rest myself.
I have also considered paying $25 checked bag fee for the items so that I will have an empty suitcase to bring home souviners!:)
