Okay, I am going to give this thing a try. I just turned 22 (August 2) and I just came to the realization that I am getting old. You know - everyone goes through this stage way before it is time. Honestly, I am not getting old but it sure does feel like it. :rolleyes1

Stephanie and I at the Magic Kingdom.

Anyway, Stephanie (DGF) and I decided that it was time to visit Disney again. We had a busy summer and classes were about to start back up, so we decided it was in our best interest to escape reality for a week or so. I am a huge Disney fan. I could live at Disney and not be bored; however, I understand that not everyone is like me. :snooty: Stephanie, would rather spend the entire day at Universal than at Disney. Therefore, I decided to give in. We would divide our trip right down the middle.

We eventually decided to stay at Orlando Grand on International Drive. This is close to Wet and Wild and Universal Orlando. It is actually not far from Sea World or Disney at that. This was the perfect place, to be quite honest. We would visit Sea World, Universal, and the Magic Kingdom on this trip.

We purchased our tickets online, made the reservations for the hotel and we were set. We departed on August 14, I believe. This was a crazy day. She had a dentist appointment and I was to see my Grandfather. My grandfather was in the hospital for something the doctors were even unsure of. While she was at the dentist, I would spend the day with him.

OFF TOPIC / TIME FRAME FAST FORWARD: Let me go into further detail here. My grandfather passed away on Monday evening. Stephanie and I were both there. We was admitted in the hospital on August 2 (My Birthday) and from that day forward, he didn't know who anyone was. He was confused. The doctors were unsure of what it was for quite sometime. Actually, they were stumped until the week of his death. We now know that he had a stroke, heart attack, a blood infections, a blockage, and kidney failure all at the same time. Can you imagine? He died in hospice. His death notice was in the local paper today.

The day went according to plan. We drove to the hotel. We had a hard time following the directions Map Quest provided, but we eventually got to the right place. It wasn't that hard to find - it was located right across from Chuckie Cheese.

We checked it and got our room. The resort seemed empty which was odd because it looked like a rather large resort. We got to our room and opened the door. The room was really large, but it was so hot. Stephanie and I love hotels because you can make it really cold and your not charged anything - like you are at home. So, we were not having that. We dropped our stuff off in the room and went back to the front desk.

The guy thought we were rude about it, but if we are paying room a room - we want our requests made. Stephanie informed him of the problems. As she was arguing, I was just thinking about the last trip we took together. (May, All Star Sports, 5 days...) Aww.... Yeah, we had a cold room then. But, I didn't say anything because I was staying at the Orlando Grand to make her happy. Maybe she will come to understand that Disney is the place to be. :upsidedow

The guy at the desk said he would take care of the problems so away we went. Stephanie was hungry so we drove to the Ponderosa, which was right across the street. We should have walked to be honest with you.

Next time on the Best Vacation Ever:

- After getting lost on International Drive, we finally arrive back at the Hotel. Is the room cold or is more complaining in the works? Neither of us have been to Sea World in over twelve years - has it changed much? :confused3

awesome trip I too am 21 and realized I'm not a kid anymore its a crazy unnerving feeling but I think you have no choice but to grow old but you have the choice if you want to grow up or not :P :rolleyes1
