The Best Restaurant in WDW and Most Overlooked!

Another vote for The Wave which is starting to get more "looks" than overlooked these days.

Our favorite DTD restaurant is Paradiso 37 which I don't hear much about but we love it.:thumbsup2

Turf Club at SSR and Olivias at OKW. They are both wonderful and they both have outdoor seating which is something we really enjoy if the weather permits.

I have a lot of other favorites but they are hardly overlooked and quite popular.

I will say Turf Club is catching on, I guess the word is getting around on that one.

I would say the Grand Floridian Cafe. We ate there for the first time on our last trip and it ended up being one of our favorites. We will going there again this year.

I have 2 favorites that are very easy to get into and often overlooked.

1) Captains Grille at the Yacht club. they serve a great lobster benedict at breakfast.
2) Olivias at OKW.

Two more votes for OKW and Grand Floridian Cafe!

Olivia's has an amazing breakfast!

Grand Floridian sits in a resort with other restaurants that have a much bigger following, and we got a great reservation time in a half full restaurant. Amazing service and great food!

Our Favorite: The Tusker House in Animal Kingdom.

Thanks to the lovely French lady in guest relations in DHS who recommended it! We loved it. Why:

1) It was not crowded at all (couldn't even get reservations in Tony's; Le Cellier; ok could not get reservations ANYWHERE), and it is awesome.
2) Awesome selection and Buffet means eat as much as you want.
3) The best and most diverse of the food I've seen at any restaurant.
4) Incredibly friendly staff (probably due to #1 above)

The only down side was there were so many good foods, that the buffet style makes you want to eat EVERYTHING and then you either spend too long there or you are too stuffed to do anything afterwards.

SO, I would love to hear some other people's opinions as to the best and/or most overlooked Disney Restaurant - as I've never been to so many!

While I enjoyed the food, I was completely forgotten while waiting for my table. I had a 9:30 reservation and hadn't been taken to my table by 9:50. When I finally said something, it was still another ten-fifteen minutes before I was taken to a table. I still had to pay for my picture with Donald and my waitress was non-existent. We're going again in July to see if it's any better. I did like the selection and the characters were very friendly so that made up for it a little.

Our favorite is Jiko. I think Bongo's gets overlooked, probably because all of chain restaurants surrounding it are more well known.

Don't know which one is my favorite. So many good choices and sometimes we go to favorites over again so we have not tried them all. As far as overlooked I would say Olivia's at OKW. Sitting outside with a bowl of conch chowder and a nice salad and a drink from the gurgling suitcase. Then going for a swim in the pool. One of my favorite ways to spend an afternoon. And I love the tropical bread that they bring you while you are waiting for the rest of your food. Now if only I could duplicate that bread.

One of my wife's favorite meals and we hadn't even heard of the restaurant before going to the World in Jan. was Liberty Tavern.

Oh goodness, I think I am one of those that go to the 'it' places. So for overlooked restaurants, I'll say that we really enjoyed our dinner at La Hacienda in September. I could make a meal out of the rose margaritas :thumbsup2

For 'signature' DW and myself are Flying Fish fans.

But ... at Animal Kingdom Lodge both Boma and Jiko have excellent and unique food. The buffet at Boma isn't a signature dining experience but the food selection is mind boggeling .... tastes you've never tasted before. Jiko is signature and a wonderful experience.

Fav: CP Breakfast, always a MUST!
Overlooked: Rose & Crown - really enjoyed my meal here. Didn't have to wait long for a table and didn't seem overly busy.

We were pleasantly surprised by these gems;
Lunch at Captain's Grille (crab cakes-yum)
Lunch at Yak and Yeti, taken upstairs to a window view of the parade! Also, Ahi tuna.
Dinner at Boatwright's Hall for the atmosphere (fireplace), cornbread and Southern food. There's a piano bar next door and a river boat outside!

They were all walk ups- no ADR's. In mid-June.

I vote Tusker House as well. We've attended the character breakfast at Tusker House in the past and really enjoyed it. This last trip, we had a reservation at Boma that we decided to cancel last minute because we were park hopping between Animal Kingdom and Hollywood Studios. We decided to eat in AK and decided to try Tusker House for lunch. It wasn't crowded and the food was fantastic! Will definitely do this again.

We took a last minute trip to WDW in December, and did not get our 1st choice reservations. We reserved Tusker House for lunch, and then read about special seating for Finding Nemo here on the DIS.

We changed our seating time to be eligible for the special seating. (There was no additional fee.)

We found the food to be pretty good, but not spectacular, and our service was spotty at best. BUT...our seats for Finding Nemo was spectacular. If you like live theater at all...or have little ones that like Nemo...definitely go for it. It was well worth it.

We had seen the Finding Nemo show before...but was waaaaay in the back. Being up front is cool!
