In your opinion, where is the best place to have a reception? It seems like all the sites have their pros and cons. Nothing jumps out as perfect.

I don't know what is the best reception site. We had our at California Grill. It was a lovely place to have the reception, but they were definately not easy to deal with. I don't know that I would recommend this site to anyone unless you like to be frustrated. I would personally say AAR if you can do it. Ariels, or anything at the Grand depending on how many people you have. 3 weeks after my wedding I went to Lisa's VR at the Grand. The food and service were phenomenal! Basically, the people that have a catering group would be the people to do the specific things that you request.

Although i havent had my reception ye im having it at the boardwalk and i just have to say that they have been nothing but helpful! i wanted to change all my menus and customize them and they have been really accomodating! even when things havent worked they have offered alternatives.

Its actually a bit un nerving as its 5 months out and i feel like i have nothing to be doing apart from the little things like welcome bags.

We had our pre-recpetion in the Whitehall room and patio at the GF and the reception in the St. Augustine ballroom. It was so beautiful and the service was excellent. I highly recommend the GF.

I don't think anyone can answer what is perfect for you. It really depends on the vision you have for you day and what feels right to you. It is true all sites have pros and cons but you have to decide which are the cons that you can deal with. This was the hardest decision for us and must have changed 6 times before our final deision of the Boardwalk. There are certain restrictions to certain venues like time and capacity constraints so that is the first hurdle. A site visit helped us tremendously but if that isn't possible I say decide what feeling you want...a beach theme, a fairytale theme...no theme? A daytime wedding, evening, night? Some of these questions will lead you to narrow down some of the sites. Cost may also be a factor. Next take the remaining sites and make a list of all the pros and cons you can think of for each. When you see that list in black and white it can help make your decision...that is just my opinion and what I did. I hope this helped good luck!

Thank you everyone for your wonderful advice! I will keep you updated on what we decide! :wizard: I mean, it's Disney World so whatever we choose can't be THAT bad! lol

I would actually say any location you chose will be GREAT!!! every location in my opinion is amazing and has its ow uniqueness and Disney qualities. You need to look around and see waht feel right for you both. When you find the perfect location you will know - trust me. We new we had teh right location for us and I am honestly "in love" with our location- its perfect (for us)
