Downtown disney food... :confused3

I had a pretty good meal at Wolfgang Puck's express, and and okay meal at Captain Jacks...

Rainforest cafe is :sad2: in my opinion

On our arrival day I don't want to use park tickets so we are going to do some shopping at DTD and have a nice dinner.

What is a guaranteed to be good, restaurant? (2 adults/2 kids 13)

I like Rainforest Cafe. Fulton's crab House was a waste of good money.

I agree with you compleatly! I would recommend House of Blues. They have a wonderful goat cheese stuffed filet and the catfish nuggets for an app. are great. Give it a try I think you'll like it. :thumbsup2

HOB is great (love the rosemary cornbread!), and Portabello Yacht Club is also very good. PYC is one that most most people don't think of, but it's a great place for some good Italian food. Capt'n Jack's is a nice place too (Lobster, steak, salmon) and has a great view over the water.

Not exactly fancy, but one of my favorite meals down there is Earl of Sandwich for a sandwich (and their amazing tomato soup), followed by Ghiradelli's for desert. :thumbsup2

Oh, I forgot about Portabellos, where exactly is it at DTD? what's it near?

I am off to check out the menus for Portobellos and the House of Blues,

any other suggestions>?

Portabellos is near Foltons Crab House. If you walk toward the entrance of Foltons you will see Portabellos in front of you.

Portobello or House of Blues. We're trying Raglan Road in Sept. so I can't help with that directly.

Wolfgang Puck Cafe was great in my opinion.

Along with, I would never go to House of Blues, Rainforest Cafe, or Planet Hollywood because I have all those chain restaurants back home.

Raglan Road is the brand new Irish Pub/Restaurant on Pleasure Island right across from Manequins. I havent been there yet, but I've heard nothing but good things about it so far. :thumbsup2

Our meal at Wolfgang Puck's Cafe was pretty good, but I wouldn't say it was a guaranteed great meal. My entree was just okay, nothing special.

So far I have not heard any negative reviews of Raglan Road, and the pictures of the menu items I've seen look wonderful. So much so that I've cancelled our ADR for Boma and booked us there. (Moved Boma to breakfast).

Raglan Road is excellent.....tried it in May, loved it. It has made our "every time" list. :thumbsup2

My suggestion would be Wolfgang Puck's Cafe (this is not the same thing as express...this is the table service option and the food and drinks are wonderful!!!) Plus the atmosphere is not heavy, it's open and airy and kids will like it too!
