Ok, i know you have probably answered this question, but really, overall response, with small children, which is the best delux and value for all that money?? There are so many to chose from, kind of leaning to the poly cause of the beach atmosphere, but still unsure. We dont go every year or every few years so we want a wonderful experience. And we will be at the resort for naps and down time (kids cant take too much stimulation and cant be at the parks all day). Which one is all around great for kids to be at?

Haven't stayed at every deluxe but I can tell you that the Beach Club is the best as far as I can tell for any situation- young kids, adults only, etc.- it doesn't matter. The location alone is prime- walk to Epcot, walk or boat ride to MGM. Bus to MK is only 15 minutes. Theming and pool are great with the Boardwalk across the lagoon. Character breakfast on-site.

The best resorts for kids are the Poly and the CR, because they are on the monorail. For value, the best deluxe is the CR if you stay in one of the wings.

I think all the deluxe resorts are fabulous. I have been told that the WL and POLY are preferable with small kids.

I stay at the GF every summer, and all the kids that I see during my stays look like they are having a great time. There is a kiddie pool as well as a zero entry pool (kids love this pool). The pool staff usually starts up some sort of activity for all the kids to join in. I have yet to see an unhappy child :rotfl:

Go with your instinct. No matter where you stay, your kids will have a great time! They are in WDW after all ::MickeyMo

I have to agree that any hotel with monorail service is great for small children. Polynesian, Grand Floridian and Contemporary. I think the Contemporary has the cheapest rate of the 3 for its wing rooms. :sunny:

Well, my favorite is Beach Club. But, I don't have kids! The monorail is a huge consideration. It is very convienient - and also, the MK resorts have easy access to the MK, where you may spend a lot of your time if you have small kids.

I would vote for the Poly if I had to choose a resort on the monorail. I have stayed at all three as a child, but love the Poly, it's restaurants, and it's easy access to the TTC! When we went down when I was younger, my little brother used to get up early, and just ride the monorail around until the rest of us were ready! (What were my parents thinking?? :rotfl: )

If your kids like animals, then consider AKL. My 2 and 5 year old loved it there. And AKL has great bus transportation. You don't share a bus with another resort, like you do with most other resorts. We hardly had to wait for a bus, and we always had a seat. Poly was also great because of the monorail, but if you are going during the rainy season, then be aware that you will have to walk in the rain to go to the food court. Make sure you request a room close to GCH. WL was another great place. Our 2 year old liked the boat ride to MK and the relaxing atmosphere of the hotel.

Why... it's the POLYNESIAN of course!! It's the best!

Of the deluxes we've stayed in, (WL, AKL, CR), AKL is my entire families favorite resort ever. It is no question why Conde Naste Traveler has AKL as the #2 resort world wide. WL is also very nice (and in the top 10 for top resorts world wide also)--and very convienent transportation with little kids. I did not like the Contemporary, despite the monorail. It is just too sterile and 1970s-ish for my taste.

Well, with small children you want to be on the monorail because you are going to spend most of your time at the MK. We have stayed at all 3 monorail resorts. I love the CR - the hustle and bustle and walking to MK is the biggest reason. You leave MK on a parade night, you just turn left and walk back to your resort. The GF would be my second choice (but soooo costly). I didn't care for the Poly - it's a personal choice - just not my style.

Since our kids are getting older, we are staying at the Beach Club this year. Walk to Epcot and either walk/boat to MGM. The wonderful advantage of the deluxe resorts is not having to bus it every where.

Well, I have little ones and the LOVE MK so for us the best deluxes are on the monorail.

I LOVE the CR and GF. Haven't tried the Poly yet because it doesn't appeal to us.

I'd love to try the WL someday too but I still think for convenience, it's the GF or the CR.

I love the GF for the atmosphere, the new pool, the restaurants, the views, the monorail.

I love the CR for the way it makes me feel; like I'm in the "heart" of Disney; where all the action is. I love the restaurants, the views, the monorail going through it, and the WALK to MK.

Good luck deciding!

I chose the Poly...my aunt who has stayed at all the deluxes says GF is her first but with small kids the Poly is best in her opinion...I can't wait. The pool looks great, the theme looks great and the TTC and monorail can not be beat with little ones IMO. Plus I think they are largest on site, could be wrong here but size is important to us with three girls :) good luck

Definately Poly...

1.) You can walk to the TTC which gives you direct access to the Epcot monorail and more options for all the other parks as well.

2.) Some of the largest rooms on property (UG incorrectly lists Poly's size as smaller than CR).

3.) Best sleeping arrangements -- 2 queens and a daybed (twin size matress). No sleeper sofa (some of the other deluxes have this too).

4.) Zero entry pools. A huge plus over CR if you like swimming because little ones can wade at the edge of th pool and have it gradually get deeper.

For us the zero entry pools and the transporation put Poly over the top. I love the theming of some of the other resorts, but as a parent, the convenience of the Poly couldn't be beat, especially since we were very MK focused. Oh, and our kids still talk about watching the castle change colors at night and seeing the fireworks from the beech (we bought them little sand buckets which kept them occupied for quite some time so DH and I could sit with some relative peace :D )

I agree that CR wing rooms are the best value for your money, especially if you can get an AP rate. We stayed there with our two young kids and they loved the monorail going through the hotel. I loved being able to walk to MK in 10 minutes and having a HUGE room (the largest at WDW). I do think the GF is the nicest of the deluxes and it does have plenty of things for kids to do. Beach Club/Yacht Club has the coolest pool for kids.

any of the Epcot resorts - you can't beat the area - and the transportation is great - especially being able to walk to Epcot and MGM - the boats are really nice as well. My FAVORITE is the Beach Club.
