The best day you ever had @ Disney?

We had been to Disney Studios once before, but that was in August and therefore amazingly busy! When we went in May, we were able to do all of the fun attractions many times. We got on to TOT five times in a row.
We were lucky enough to visit the Who Wants To Be a Millionaire attraction for 5/10 shows that day. I actually got into the Hot Seat during the fourth show! Having cast members and guests recognizing and approaching me afterwards made that day very special.

I can't say which day has been the best (they all are so marvelous), but one that is particularly memorable was this past February. Just my mom and I were on this trip, and one day we did the Keys to the Kingdom tour. We got to enter MK before it opened and Main Street was empty. We wandered around before the tour started and took pictures and videos. Then we got to see Scoop Sanderson do his Cinderella presentation just for our group. The 5-hour tour was absolutely wonderful. Robin was our cast member/guide and she was very passionate about Walt Disney World. We learned lots, we had lunch, we laughed, and we cried. It was well worth the money. After the tour we stayed at the park the rest of the day (we don't usually stay at one park all day) and watched the fireworks. I can't wait for our May trip.

Mine was definitely Xmas eve three years ago! We started with breakfast at CRT(which was wonderful all on it's own) and got done pretty early, well when we left the castle everywhere we looked were characters and not another guest in sight!! The characters were all fighting over us trying to get us to talk to one instead of the other, it was priceless!! We got many pictures without any other people in them and lots of attention. After that we walked on every ride in fantasyland at least twice before it started getting crowded!! All of this on Xmas eve, but that was the last of our "quiet" time!!!

Last September we for the first time stayed in MK past the Saturday rush after the fireworks. With only a couple hundred people, and the trees lit and the music so soothing, this was a moment we'll try and recreate in June. If you've never done this, you're missing some real magic!

Well, we have a DS with special needs we have had MANY special moments with him, CM's go out of their way to make sure he has a magical time.

That said, another very special day was a few years ago when Radio Disney used to be at MGM. The kids got to be on the radio with Just Plain Mark and Zippy (anyone remember them?). DD was also asked to interview Christina Aquilerra (SP).

After that we sat on Hollywood Blvd. and watched the street characters. These 3 plumbers would not leave us alone. They asked DD what her name was and she replied A A A Liz. Well, he wrote that in her autograph book and we all laughed. That night at Fantasmic he spotted DD during the pre-show and started teasing her all over again. He had everyone in the stadium stand up and say hello to AAAAAAAA Liz. It was such a fun and relaxing day

Friday, Nov. 9, '01. Myself, dh, dd (then 8). We started the day with our friends in MK. After about 1 hr of togetherness, we split up by family. It was the best day in WDW I've ever had. Just roaming around MK, not in a big rush, with my 2 loved ones. Shared a hot dog on the curb right in front of HM. Did BTMR many, many times. Watched the afternoon parade. Then, as we waited on the curb, in front of Tony's, for Spectromagic, my dh, (who hadn't really wanted to do WDW in the first place) said..."We should do this again, but just our family, nobody else. That would be really nice." It was the most wonderful last day in WDW you could ask for. So, just to make dh happy, we're going back this August.

September 2000 @ Epcot for the first time with my daughter, then 4. We had the best time just the two of us. I remember we had all the time in the world to do whatever we wanted. It was a perfectly beautiful day! I can still remember the moment when I thought, "THIS IS IT" and I got goosebumps when I first saw the Tapestry of Nations parade. It's one of my favorite memories!

I don't really remember the year but it was January. There was no one in the MK. We have pictures of Liberty Square with and empty stroller and nothing else. No lines so we were able to get on and off everything as many times as we wanted. It was really great, because it allowed us to do many things that we usually did not have time for.

On It's A Small World...my 10 month old said her first words " what's that?". Absolutely priceless and something I will remember forever.

Mine was on our most recent trip (2/03). DH, DS, and I just picked a bench a watched both TOD parades inbetween one of us would make a "snack run". Afterwards, we just turned around and all cuddled on our bench and watched Illuminations. I actually got teary eyed during it, thinking it didn't truly get any better. It was a touching moment for me. Our family always seems to busy to really just enjoy one another.

Before AK officially opened, we were lucky enough to catch a "soft-open" available only to people staying on WDW property. The park was nearly empty, but it was fully staffed. We did every attraction over & over again. And there were 100s of CMs falling over themselves to serve us. One CM went & got us napkins after we sat down to eat lunch. So many CMs said Hi! as they passed us that DS started counting the number of greetings we received. AK is not our favorite park, now. Maybe it is because no day at AK could ever compare to that "soft-opening" day. It was our departure day & I remember driving to MCO in a state of complete relaxation.

The best day I ever had was Thanksgiving Day 2001. My whole family was there for a family trip. We had CRT reservations for Thanksgiving Day for a party of 11- unbelievable!! The reservation was before the park opened- so we got in early. Hardly anyone was in the park- very cool! We got family pictures made on Main Street with hardly anyone in the background. Then we took a leisurely stroll to the castle. The park was beautiful- it had been decorated overnight with Christmas decorations. CRT was incredible in itself. Seeing my 2 1/2 yr's eyes light up- as well as my neices- was absolutely priceless. After breakfast, we did Fantasyland. The park got crowded around lunch, so we decided to take a leisurely afternoon and just take in the sights. Saw many characters in front of the castle. Took in the castle show and staked out a spot for the parade. My daughter and her 2 cousins were chosen to dance in the parade. Much to our amazement- my 2 1/2 year old was thrilled to have Dopey take her to dance. She had been a little timid at the beginning of the week. Also, at the end of the parade, a dancer took them all 3 to wave at Cinderella's snow globe. This was truly a magical parade for them. Next was a late afternoon lunch at Crystal Palace. Very good food for Thanksgiving and terrific character interaction- the kids all loved bouncing with Tigger. The rest of the afternoon was slow- wonderful to slow down and take in the sights and sounds. Took advantage of FastPass for SpaceMountain a few times. Next was SpectroMagic- great as always! We ended the day with Tinkerbell flying and fireworks. What a wonderful way to spend Thanksgiving Day with our famliy. It was truly a magical day for us!:Pinkbounc

Well, I'd have to say the best day at Disney World that I've had was when I went with some local high school's cheerleaders. I got ditched there, and my roommate said I could go with them. We went to Epcot and the girls loved it! I walked away from that trip gaining two new best friends :)

The first day of our trip last September was the best day I ever had at WDW. We were actually at DTD in the hallway outside Studio M. That's where I got to meet Mickey Mouse for the first time. For 30 years I had carried around the desires of a broken hearted 4 year old that just wanted to meet Mickey Mouse at WDW. Let's just say, it was magical. Mickey

Our Wedding Day! We had a morning ceremony at the Wedding Pavilion followed by a lunch reception at Citricos. After DH and I, uh, spent some time in our hotel room, we went to DTD and had dinner at Wolfgang Pucks.

It was the first time I ever went. I was 21 years old. I had always dreamed about going to Walt Disney World, but never had the opportunity. We were driving cross country on our way to my husbands next Airforce assignment. We drove several hundred miles out of our way to visit my in laws who had recently retired in Lakeland, Florida.

We were married with two babies and had more responsibilities than most 35 year olds we knew. I was exhausted and a little depressed. One morning, my wonderful Mother in law handed us two tickets to the Magic Kingdom. She said, now you two get, while the gettin' is good! We left her with two whiney, teething babies and didn't look back!

At my first glimpse of the castle, I thought I had died and gone to heaven. I'd seen it a million times on T.V., but it didn't prepare me for how magical it truly was. When Mickey Mouse walked up to us and put his arm around me, I cried. At that point I turned from a tired 21 year old wife and Mommy, into an excited 10 year old girl having the time of her life. My husband and I ran hand in hand, from ride to ride, laughing, not a care in the world. It started pouring but we didn't miss a step. We threw on ponchos and had the park to ourselves.

I fell in love with Walt Disney World and also rediscovered the child inside of me that day. I was rejuvenated and ready to go home to my little guys. That feeling stayed with me for a long time, and I get it again, each and every time I enter the Magic Kingdom and that magical place called Walt Disney World. :)

My favorite Disney day is actually at Disneyland, but the idea is the same!

I went to LA for a friend's wedding. DH (then BF) was overseas for the military, but one of my best friends from college lived in LA, so he agreed to be my "date" for the wedding. On the Thursday before the wedding, there was the big family day at Disneyland, so of course my buddy and I tagged along. All morning we tried to keep this huge group (20 or more) together. We had grandparents, parents, kids, etc. You can only imagine how much fun it was for non-family, especially my buddy who knew no one. Finally we decided to split up for a bit and reconvene at the castle around lunchtime.

We get to the castle, and the family decides it is time for pictures. My buddy and I are sitting off to the side when the Matron of Honor and her husband come sit down next to us. After 20 minutes of watching the whole picture process, the MOH DH suggests since the four of us are not family that we go do our own thing. After quick agreement from the rest of us, we go tell the bride and groom that we will see them later.

The four of us then proceeded to act like kids, and closed the park down. We rode everything like it was the first time for all of us. We drove other patrons crazy because we were just insane. We were reading in the guidebook the description for a ride, and it mentioned the word "zany." That was our word for the day, and our goal was to make as many kids around us say that word over and over. I cannot tell you how many angry glances we got from parents over that one! I cannot even beging to describe all of the things we did that day!

A couple of years later whil on our honeymoon, DH and I went back, but I couldn't recapture the magic of that previous trip. It was the right combination of the right people at the right place at the right time!
