The Beatles on Ed Sullivan

Santa was kind and wise enough to leave this DVD in my stocking this Christmas, and I have a question. On the first disc, in the first show, there is also the cast of 'Oliver' doing a scene from the play. Are my eyes deceiving me, or is that Davey Jones, later of the Monkees, playing the part of the 'Artful Dodger'? Has anyone else seen this, or know? Thanks!

I will NEVER forget that show!!

My Dad took us to the hotel they were staying at that week. I remember my sister and I just screaming and touching the brick on the hotel! My Dad was sooooo ....

That night was so anticipated at my home my sister and I were on our knees on the floor ready to SCREAM. Oliver? Oliver who????

Sorry Davy, you had to wait till 1967 for any attention from my household!!

I remember watching the show live when it first aired, but I don't recall seeing anyone but the Beatles. I may have to borrow that DVD from the library (or rent from Blockbuster) to check out the rest of the program.

I actually have that clip on an old videotape of Monkees TV appearances (Johnny Cash, etc.) and he really has star quality--you would never know that he was 18 years old at the time!!! He just turned 58 last week, the same day Mike Nesmith turned 61.

Those other acts on the Sullivan DVDs sure didn't age too well. For those who believe the quality of tv has diminished, take a look at these shows. Other than the Beatles, it's hard to believe people watched this stuff.
