At the mere thought of Frick's hideous sock picture. I'm barely able to stand vertical today.
ok Zzub, I just love your trip reports, but I learned I cannot read them to my Dh without reading them to myself first. He couldn't understand a word I said for me laughing so hard.

Thanks again for making our day.
I'm glad that my writing makes you laugh so hard.
I was Airport "Buzz" this morning... which means... I'm not actually sure what it means... but I do know this... I was tired and cranky....
I'm gonna be Airport ZZUB this weekend. So people should prepare to clear a path for me. I don't remember reading anything that sounded cranky in your longest thus far response post. So you concealed your crankiness from your posting.
I agree about Goodings... If you took a left, you were at Winn Dixie...
Now you're dangling grocery stores! Actually, I did take a left so it was the WD. It was a pretty scuzzy WD at that.
Seriously though, I enjoy all the accents that you get to hear while at the World . . .For whatever reason, I seem to always end up on the bus or in line next to a family from the UK.
One of the things (the only thing?) I like about the busses is getting to hear other people. People say some "interesting" things on the busses. Which they shouldn't. But we have about a 5 year unbroken streak of running into Brits. I assume everyone is MazdaUK from Sidcup, Kent.
IMO, the vomit was FAR WORSE

than your sock shot.
YOU ARE ENTIRELY WRONG! NOTHING IS WORSE THAN THE SKEEVEY SOCK BALL!
YAY - I'm just back from the world and find two, count 'em, two chapters of Zzub.
What a funny way to rub it in that you were just in Disney World!
Zzub - this made me laugh out loud. So much so, I might have aroused Mel up from her self imposed hybernation.
If only wishing made it so. I almost miss her.
But this made me sad....this trip we stayed at a DTD hotel. Not the Doubletree, “Gawd forbid a million times, I shouldn’t" stay there, but a nicer DTD hotel with Stacey on the TV 24/7.
Sorry, YAK. I didn't mean to make you sad. And I'm not a resort Kool Aide drinker (NOObama supporters [Hi Ash!]), but obviously we prefer the Disney Resorts to non-Disney. My comment wasn't directed so much at the non-resort crowd in general as it was the Doubletree in specific. IT was a pretty lousy looking property.
I casually mentioned to DH last night that Disney had announced Free Dining again for this year. He kind of grunted to let me know he heard me, but said nothing. About an hour later he looked up and said, "I was so spoiled by the Beach Club last year, I don't think I could go back to value. And even with free dining I don't know if we could afford Beach Club this year." So at least he's thinking about it!!! I would glady stay in value if it meant I could go back...
Interesting thought experiment, can you really "gladly stay in a value" now that you've stayed in a so-called deluxe resort? I like to tickle my mind with this thought from time to time and it occurs to me that when the rubber hits the road, we would not be happy in a value again. We've grown spoiled by the larger beds, the double sinks and a few of the other deluxe amenities. I could see staying in a moderate under certain circumstances but I don't know that I could spend more than a night at the All Stars again.
But that may be peculiar to me. I'd rather go every other year and do it right than go every year and skimp and cut corners. In our experience, we're happier when we're there for a certain length of time and in a resort we enjoy.
The other side of this argument can probably be made by MDF. His family goes for two weeks and spends, I think, the first week off property and the second in a 35 room DVC villa with both indoor plumbing AND a view of idiot golfers who've completed nine holes by 9:00 am. I think MDF would concede that the first week off property is clearly inferior to the 2d week in a DVC villa. But in their calculus, it makes sense to have a lesser experience the first week b/c it allows for the better experience the 2d week. All that to say, I don't know that there is a right or wrong answer to this. It's a matter of preference. I'm writing at length in response to your post b/c I think it's an interesting thought and one I've had from time to time myself. However, when reality tested, it might lead you to a different conclusion that you initially thought.
