The Bad Poet's Night Before Christmas

Twas just weeks before Christmas, and all through the house
we were missing the magic, we were needing the mouse.
The office, kids homework! We were pulling out hair!
And all the time thinking, can't WAIT to get there.

Just a few more months till our next visit home.
I can't wait until then, so I picked up the phone.
"Member Services, please? I want to have fun.
Do I have enough points? Oh, I see. Almost none".

Well, I reached for my AP and started to snort.
I'll get a nice discount! Caribbean Resort!
DW think's I'm crazy. "There's not enough time!
All the shopping and packing. Have you lost your mind?"

I replied, "Maybe yes. But I have a good reason.
We could all use a break. After all, 'tis the season!"
The kid's know we're visting Grandma and Grandpop.
But they don't know that Mickey will be the next stop!

A Christmas with Mickey, and the kids still don't know it!
Only you, DW, and me, the Bad Poet!
As I write to my DIS friends to share my delight,

Wonderful poem! I am running it off(with your permission) to use with my fourth grade students, who will love it! We are also in the process of packing for Christmas. We leave the 17th(8 days!!) While we didn't use our AP's this year, we did have to use our Marriott timeshare for the first week of our trip, since we only had enough points for a studio for a week at VWL. We aren't sure how to vacation at Disney if we aren't staying at a DVC hotel

Glad you all enjoyed it! I had fun writing it. I haven't allowed myself to get excited about this trip as it's been very tentative up until now. Now it's looking like we'll be there in just 9 days!

I loved your poem - can't wait to show it to my DH when he gets home from work!

We did the same thing in September - just needed a Mouse House fix, so used AP for Pop Century. We had a wonderful time, and it kept us going until our next trip home - in just 24 more days!!!
