The Posse
Tony ( Tony64) 41 Driver and runner to Fast Pass Machines
Theresa ( Latte Lover) 39(again) Chief organiser and banker
Maddie 16 Firmly believes everything dad says is stupid
Callum 15 would prefer to be playing in his band(but loves cat in the hat)
Friday 12th August
We woke up early, though not as early as we normally do on our first day, and went for an All You Can Eat Breakfast at The Golden Corral.
We had the usual fixs and chocolate cake n ice cream ( The diets gone out the window again)
Its off to Walmart next as this is another family Tradition.
We bought Clothes, dvds, CDs and fishing tackle and that was just for me!
Theresa & Maddie stocked up on scrapbooking stuff which was to become the main buy for them for the whole holiday. (There is a lot more choice and its cheaper in the States)
After Walmart we went back to the hotel to drop off all of our booty and head off to Universal Studios.
We had a 14 day pass for Universal, IOA, Seaworld and Wet and Wild and though it would be good to break ourselves in gently the first day.
We went straight to the Mummy ride which we thought was great but maybe a bit short. Then onto Shrek, Back to the Future and Twister none of which had a queue of more than 15 mins.
We bumped into my uncle, aunt and cousins in universal,(no not them in the picture) we knew they were in Orlando as we had arranged to give them a call to meet up for a meal later in the holiday but never expected to bump into them in a park!
We bought a really lovely ice cream from a little outlet close to Back to the Future which had pineapple swirled into it, it was delicious, almost as nice as a dole whip float but not quite.
It started to rain at about 3.30 and continued until early evening.
We left Universal at about 5 and had a meal at The Las Vegas Buffet.
This has been the best quality buffet in previous trips but I think the novelty factor is starting to wear thin for us as it was only OK 6/10
Back to the Hotel and kids go to the pool and Theresa and I have a coffee in the room and she wrote up the Happy Book( our neighbours wrote a trip diary a few years back that had Happy Book written on the cover. We thought it was such a good idea that we have done one for every trip since then and it is always called the Happy Book in our family)
