On the third floor at the end of the hall there is a short hallway with a sign that seems to lead into a little bar or lounge or something. I think it is called "The Attic". Does anybody know what this is supposed to be?

The Attic was originally announced as a gathering place for DVC members, where we could enjoy the BW and watch Illuminations.

It is not usually open for use in that fashion, but is used for private parties and meetings. I don't remember any announcement expaining the change in it's use, but I think the original intention was noted in the early press releases for the BWV.

Just another take away, huh?

To my knowledge, it was never opened for that purpose- so the plan changed before ever being implemented. No take away, just a thought which never got accomplished.

When we were there some people were in the Attic watching tv. It didn't look like a private party and it looked like we could have walked in if we wanted to.

On our first trip down to stay at the Boardwalk, My wife and our friends were told they could hang out their because it was an area for the members to use. I was busy with others in th eparty and never got to visit. My wife really thought this was a great thing, to be able to have a place to play games and sit and relax other than your room. The next year we visited, she took me down to show me and the CM that was cleaning it told us that we couldn't be in there and that the room was used for private parties only. He kinda made us feel uncomfortable (could have been his lack of English) Sounds to me it was a change from th eoriginal plan and no one was told. It wasn't anything I saw in any of the literature, but something we were invited to use once and then told we couldn't use the next time. I not upset about it, just disappointed.
