Right now I give the Cards the edge in pitching. Clemens and Oswalt both just pitched on three days rest and are beat up. Backe is a good "up and comer", but if the Cards get to him early, that could be the game. If Backe gets into a groove, the Astros win. Munro, who I just found out will be starting game one, is kind of a question mark. He's been streaky all year. Our bullpen can't be relied on, with the exception of Lidge, who has proved himself as a closer. Either way, it should be a good series. If the Astros don't win, I will be pulling for the Cards in the WS

And if the Astros win, I'll be pulling for them. No better story than to see Clemens defeat either one of his former teams for the title.

Oh yeah! We were talking about that at work today. That would be sweet. Clemens would need a police escort out of NY if that happens.

The Astros announced a little while ago that Backe will pitch game one after all. Their website had been saying Munro for most of the day.
