****The April 2015 thread**** come check in and chat!

For those of you who will be in the parks between April 1 - 5, and are planning to do the Egg-stravaganza, I started a thread today with the rundown (including photos and details) of how it works. This is the 2014 hunt that I write about, of course, but I think that this year's will be pretty much the same (with the exception of a few new hiding spots). The thread is called "Eggs-plaining the Egg-stravaganza" and it can be found here - http://www.disboards.com/threads/eg...n-2-days-march-27-2015.3393648/#post-53320682

We are going from April 18-25! Now that it's sooooo close, I'm coming unglued from excitement - we booked this trip nearly a YEAR ago to take advantage of Aeroplan miles! How will I make it through the next 23 days?! How am I supposed to get anything useful done?! We told the kids this weekend, and they are coming unglued right along with me :tigger:

New to board. We're going to be in Disneyland for our first time April 28-May 1st! We'll be celebrating my DH's birthday while we're there. It's just a few days out of our 10 day trip. I wish it was the whole trip! 31 days to go!

I made a link chain for the boys to break off each day - I can't believe it's so soon! 4 more Saturdays til we leave ;)

Going April 26th till the 30th. So excited! I'm taking my 7 yr old little girl and my 65 yr old mother who has NEVER been. Has anyone ever gone in late April before? How are the crowds?

I was there last year late April and it was actually really busy - but that's not normal. The reason it was so congested last year is because there were a TON of major closures. That pushed the crowds towards all the non closures which made things a bit nutso. I think it'll be much better this time :)

We made a chain too in Mickey colors! Our daughter (5) gets so excited to tear the day off. Then she asks to see the countdown app on my phone so she can read the number of days left.

I hope it's not going to be too busy in late April. All the crowd estimators say that it should be low crowds.

Even though I'm bummed to be missing the celebration I'm hoping that more people will be planning to take their trips at that time.

I seems as though it will be pretty decent sized crowds (which is normal for dland, no real slow time) based on the fact that most hotels don't have openings and dining reservations are filling up quickly!

Well that's a bummer, but we'll have fun either way. I've been reading a lot of tips on here, and Pinterest so that might help.

Disneyland is ALWAYS busy, but I honestly think it'll be pretty manageable. I know of many people who don't want to go end of April or beginning of May because they're waiting for the Anniversary. The closures aren't too bad, and I noticed on Saturday the 25th ALL pass holders are blocked out (that's good news for us travelers!)

Crowds don't scare me. LOL! Best advice is to do rope drop at the park that doesn't have early entry and hustle around for the first couple of hours doing everything that's on your must do list. Our last two trips I've found that DL early entry is still really crowded and kind of not any advantage at all. (Although DCA EE for onsite people is still worth it).

I've been going back and forth on Photopass+ but finally bit the bullet and ordered it today. I figured that we can still hold on to it for our summer trip if we decide not to use it for this one.

I think it depends what time EE is. If the parks open at 10:00 and EE is at 9:00, yeah, DL can be pretty crowded. But if the parks open at 8:00 and EE is at 7:00 - it's like you own the place. At least that's been our experience.

We'll be in California Adventure on WEDNESDAY! WHOO HOO!

I was noticing the lack of rooms when I booked this week. We're staying at PP so I hope that helps with cars land and other things. We're taking out little boy who's never been before. Regardless I think 3 days will be plenty

Twenty days for us!
Our set plans are ~
Day one - BBB for DD, lunch at Big Thunder BBQ Ranch, dinner at Blue Bayou.
Day two - Ariel's Grotto for breakfast, Star Wars Celebration.
Day three - Fantasmic for sure, Star Wars Celebration.
Day four - Star Wars Celebration.

Those are the exact days we are going to be in the park and we are celebrating my birthday :) My son (almost 3) keeps asking if it is April yet

Even last summer when the park opened early, DL was very busy during EE. I was surprised. But you are right, everyone can show up for a 9 a.m. EE versus a 7 a.m. one so they are always busier.

ETA: I didn't intend for everyone to actually mean everyone since it's only available to onsite guests and those with hoppers that include it for one day. I meant all those who are eligible have an easier time showing up at 9 instead of 7. Sorry if that was confusing.
