The Apprentice....the Trump version...watch out for spoilers

So it seems like every year, there is one of the "employees" on each team who really messes it up for the person they are working for. Who do you think it will be this year on each team?
I think this is the first year where they got to pick their own employees, though, so maybe no one will screw things up. Although why Rebecca picked Toral is beyond me!!!

I thought it was funny last year because they brought back the six worst people. I was hoping they would have done that again this year. I suppose we'd have Toral either way.

I'm so impressed with the two finalists. If I was a Donald Trump-type guy (I'd have better hair!), I'd be happy to have either of those two running one of my companies. This is a lot different than Tana and Kendra last year. They were just the best of a weak group.

Those are the best two finalists since the show began. I don't have any hesitation about either one of them (although this whole Rebecca/Toral aliance is getting a little old)

What happened to Randall? He seems to so far be doing a poor job - or at least we are only being shown his not-so-great moments. Both of the executives he was working with have sort of slammed him a bit...especially that woman who was saying that Josh behaved like the leader of the group and she wasn't sure if Randall "got it". And then that man certainly doesn't seem to like him either. And what was with everyone going to the party store together? And that one guy doing all the set up work himself while they all were up in the office looking at him?

Anyway, it is hard to tell. Either it is edited this way just to provide suspense or else Randall really is headed off the rails, as WIcruizer also said.

I thought Randall pretty much had a lock on this job, but now after last night I'm not so sure. Rebecca is looking pretty sharp.

Oh well, next week will tell.

I can't even believe what is going on with Randall. :earseek: What were they all doing in the party store??!!??!! Looks like a great disaster in the making, but I guess one never knows.

As for Toral, eh, I think she was a good choice for Rebecca. I think Toral would kill for her, and so far so good, though again, one never knows what may happen next week. :rotfl:

Did anyone else think that Yahoo came off looking really bad last night? This is supposedly a benefit for the Elizabeth Glazer foundation, but the Yahoo execs are treating it as an opportunity to schmooze their biggest clients and prospective clients. They made it clear that the Trump people aren't supposed to hit up any of the guests for money, even at the end. :confused3

I always suspected that a lot of these benefits are really more like marketing and networking events. But it sure was obvious last night.

Remember, Toral's issues were with the women she termed "sorority girls" Even though Rebecca did say she performed badly on the task she was fired, she also defended her on other tasks.

And being a sorority girl myself, yes some of those women reminded me so much of the girls from my sorority who thought that party planning made them business women, please!

From the last show Toral seems to be working her butt off for Rebecca, and being very detailed with her work.

Penny

I would love Rebecca to win, she is a doer, while Randell is a consultant. He specializes in ideas. I think that the projects for the winner will be an influence for who Donald picks.

Oh yeah, I was thinking the same thing. How can it be a fundraiser if no one is asked for money in some way? :confused3 All I could think of is that Yahoo was looking for a more creative way for them to hit up for money like a silent auction or something, but did a very poor job in explaining themselves. I mean are they even going to want the son to speak at the event??!!??!! :earseek:

Probably not. He'd just bum everybody out, and Yahoo doesn't want to risk that.

I guess I didn't realize how young Rebecca was until last night, when she said that Randal is a decade older than her. So I just went to NBC's website and read Rebecca's bio and boy, is it ever impressive! And she's only 23 years old?!?

Maybe there's a little padding in there, but there can't be that much. I feel so inadequate! When I was 23 I was still getting high, and wondering what I should do with my life.

Oh crap I feel old now. I thought she was around my age (which is 32) and I was indetifying with her. Wow, very impressive.

Don't feel too bad, I thought the same thing, and I am 35! :teeth: I really didn't think Rebecca was in her 30's, but closer to 27 or 28.

I really like both of the finalists, and I think both would do a great job. Being sexist, I would like Rebecca to win. Especially because I was not that found of Kendra from last year.

Yes, bad descision on Yahoo's part. I do a lot of fundraising. You need to ask people to donate, put it in their face. They know why they are being invited, so they should expect it. Putting an envelope in the gift bag for the donation peobably won't raise as much money as actually asking. I hope it doesn't depend on how much you raise to win.
I think it's pretty unfair that Joe P. may cancel.
This should be interesting. I think Rebecca's task is harder than Randall's.

I was thinking...a surprise twist has been advertised. I think we're all assuming that could mean BOTH are hired. What if the surprise is NEITHER are hired, and he picks Chris? It's odd that they wer focusing a bit on how Chris was acting like the leader in this last task. What if both events are disasters? Trump throws a bombshell and hires Chris... A long shot I know..but this just came to me.

Big night tonight!!! Who's it going to be? I won't be disappointed either way, because they are both very worthy.

I wonder if they caught word of people thinking that they would hire both? Have you noticed that all the recent promos after the one that said "surprise twist" have said "and only one will get the job." Or something like that.

Interesting so far! A little different from before, isn't it? Don't they usually do the pre-recorded one hour show and then do the one hour live show? I sorta like the intermixing :)

I don't understand why Yahoo wouldn't let them ask for donations for the foundation, isn't that the point of the whole event? Those Yahoo women are coming off pretty witchy.

I totally agree! They can't hold it against Rebecca for not going with their wishes either. I don't think it would be realistic to expect someone to tick off the major sponsor off the event. Especially considering all the guests were Yahoo shareholders.

Best part so far:
Robin and Carolyn doing the fist pound when they first walked onto the live stage at the very beginning :rotfl: :rotfl: Neither of them strike me as a 'what's up my homey' kind of person :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Alla - ouch! A little hard on Rebecca, doncha think?
