The Apprentice- Martha Stewart

I was a little bummed too. I'm not really sure that I like the show persay, but I really like the Martha style tasks. I'm more of a girly homey person than a business tycoon, so I find Martha's tasks have been a little more up my alley than Donald's. Although they have done a lot of similar ones.

There was an article in our local paper about the cancellation, I think it was taken from the AP. Donald talked about how Martha's show was taking his show down because it wasn't doing well and it carried the 'apprentice' name, and he said it was never intended to go for more than one season anyway.

If Martha's show is taking Donald's show down, then that "is a good thing." ;)

Go Martha. :cheer2:

I enjoy Martha's Apprentice show; I have no use nor much respect for the Donald.

:rotfl: My fiance and I say that to each other all the time as our little joke. Like today, he made sweet tea and he asked if I liked it, and I said, 'It's a good thing.' :rotfl:

While I enjoyed Martha's show while it lasted--I felt aside from teh letter writing at the end--she didn't go to any great lengths to make it her own. The tag line is such a thing in reality television and without one when she's letting them go ("they aren't fired b/c they weren't hired")...it makes it all awkward.

Also--while she may do well at running MSOM and its many ventures....this doens't really showcase her business talent. She may be busy and she may be on that bracelet during filming--but she did express in one episode that she was working from home, The Donald frequently invites the apprentices to places that showcase what he is doing when they are going to be assigned their task...he actually looks like he enjoys what he does..while Martha seems "tolerant" of the process. My dad is a "tolerant" individual and this gets on my nerves more than anything. I don't think it qualifies as "being polite" and the person who is "tolerant" isn't really all that interested in what they are being "tolerant" of. Martha strikes me as this way.

Dear Martha,

While you do have potential, you are lacking in some skills. You just don't fit in. Good luck , you have drive, and I think you'll make a good enterpreneur someday.

Best wishes,
NBC

Welcome to the darkside. I've been addicted to reality since Survivor began back in 2000.

Tell me about it. I avoided reality TV for almost five years, then I had my son. Those late nights were full of Surreal Life Marathons, Apprentice Donald, and Filthy Rich Cattle Drive. I even watched Kill Reality because I was sort of intrigued by these people that think they are celebrities now :rotfl:

I'm hoping Martha will be my departure from Reality TV but I doubt it. Now that I think about it, when it's February here in New England - I'll probably watch Laguna Beach for the scenery. I'll just turn the volume off...well, maybe not

Is the show not on tonight?

Doesn't seem like it. I had my wine and my popcorn and got under my favourite blanket and then I was really ticked off when some other show came on. :confused3

We all gathered around the T.V and some other show came on!?

Boo! Hiss! :sad2:

I know the show is cancelled--but I thought they'd finish and not come back. My bil says it is cancelled for the season (as in--we won't see it conclude).

Any word on this?

It is cancelled, but they will be showing the remaining episodes.

And after the rip-off of last week, I am about ready to pop the popcorn, pour the wine and try again. LOL.

I haven't seen any previews at all for this week so I don't know what to expect. Wonder if Jim will still be around in about an hour's time?

Did anybody catch the clip show on CNBC this past week?

It wasn't bad and much like this whole season, the clip show was basically "The Jim Show!"

Um...Can I take back my "Leslie's gonna win this thing?" idea. After watching 30 minutes of this new episode, I can't see how she won't be the one going home...then again, it was Ryan's concept...

Once again...whodathunk Jim would make it to the Final Five?

Maybe I shouldn't be guessing, though, before this episode ends...

----edited because I called Ryan "Adam" for some reason----

That letter had me LMAO "P.S. Alexis sends her best too" LMAO!!!!

Alexis and her friend have a show on the Sirius Martha Stewart station that I have been listening to every night on my way home from work. She's almost the anti-Martha.

Jim literally played his way into the final 5, but can't last. I can't believe he actually told the CEO and COB at dinner that he's playing a game. If he was on the Trump show he would have been gone weeks ago. But the MS cast is so weak, there's always someone worse.

I said it earlier, but there's not a single executive in this group, only a couple people that could work at MS in some capacity. Jim is great for a TV show, but who in their right mind would want him representing their company? Especially in a managerial role?

I found myself chuckling a lot at this episode.

I LOVED the Alexis P.S. moment, actually Martha's letters in general make me laugh.

I also loved Martha touching her Rhubarb dish and proclaiming "Ow!"

Glad to see Leslie let go, she seemed really phoney to me.

Jim lives yet again, woohoo! But he dug himself in a hole at his reward dinner.

Both made me laugh, too.

Did anyone else hear that Martha said "So sorry, you couldn't be here for the final task, Leslie" when she was writing the letter. Does that mean there's only one more task and then the end?

Anyway, like many of you, I'm getting quite a kick out of this show.

Seeing Marcella sulking in her seat like a little kid...

Watching Jim try to explain himself...and feeling funny that I can see where he's coming from. He's still nutty, but I do believe that he's truthful...This is a game...a "business" game, but a game...

Seeing how awful Leslie came off tonight...

It's a shame this one won't be back next season. Why doesn't a channel like TLC pick it up? Sure, it'll have the stigma of a cancelled show, but wouldn't half of NBC's audience be a godsend to TLC on any night?
