The Apprentice- Martha Stewart

I read in last weeks either Newsweek or Time that Martha was interviewed and stated that she was not impressed with the candidates and that she was not involved in picking any of the candidates when the show started. She had to pick the best of the not so good. She was not impressed with any of them and I think that is why the end was so not exciting...she was not pleased herself.

One wonders if she could be satisfied with anyone. I will bet she isn't easy or nice to work for.

I went to a taping of the Martha Stewart show just this week (look for me in the audience tomorrow 12/23 :wave2: ) and I have to say that I personally do not think that Martha is comfortable in front of a live audience. Being that last nights finale was in front of a live audience, maybe she was just feeling the pressure.
I saw her walk into the studio and she gave a shy smile and a little wave. I think she would like to be tougher than she really is but she just does not know how to...............and "thats a good thing". :cool1:

JMHO

I thought Dawna was the better fit, but I was kind of rooting for Bethany because she had more to gain and had more passion for the job.

Dawna already has a successful publishing business. Looks like the new mag. of Martha's is almost competing against Dawna's current mag.

A thought Martha could have given Bethany more accolades in the final epsidode. Poor Bethany could not seem to get any true respect from anyone. It was good to see Jim give her some kind words. Yeah, he's often a scamp, but he showed more class than Martha in the last episode. Why did Martha have to do additional grilling of both candidates in front of their families. I'm sure she had already made up her mind by then.

It looks like Dawna lives in a lovely warm climate. Is she really going to rellocate to Boston??!!!

LOL I was thinking the same thing. I'm from Boston & live in FL now. I think she's in for a big change!! What will her husband do without her?

He'll run the magazine that competes against the one she's working on for Martha. :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

I caught this finally last night on CNBC. For the many times I hate working for my boss, he's certainly better than Martha is!

I thought you all might find this interesting. It's from PageSix.com.

December 23, 2005 -- KIDS say the darnedest things! A 6-year-old girl's candid outburst forced producers of "The Apprentice: Martha Stewart" to change the winner right before the live NBC broadcast of the season finale.
On-set insiders say the granddaughter of Charles Koppelman, a top adviser to Stewart and a judge on the show, innocently revealed the winner to a room full of stunned contestants just before Wednesday night's live broadcast, sending the producers into crisis control.

Judges Martha Stewart, daughter Alexis, and Koppelman, chairman of Martha Stewart Omnimedia, were about to select a winner between finalists Bethenny Frankel and Dawna Stone when the cute child's blurt-out ruined the surprise.

Sources say producers then changed the script, which originally called for Frankel to be declared the winner.

A former contestant who was in the green room and overheard the child's remark told PAGE SIX: "Jennifer Koppelman Hutt [Charles' daughter, who works with Alexis] and her little girl were making small talk with the cast before the show. Someone asked the little girl, 'So, who do you think is going to win?' The little girl confidently replied, 'Bethenny is going to win, Martha didn't like Dawna's fashion show.' "

The shocked mother quickly whisked the tot out of the room as word rapidly spread throughout the stunned studio.

The former contestant who was there tells us, "They quickly sequestered the castmates. It was very strange. They put us all in separate rooms. The producer announced to the audience, 'We have last-minutes changes in the script. We want to keep the suspense up to the very last minute.' "

The source continues, "As far as we knew, Bethenny was the winner. But when they returned to live broadcast, the mood had definitely shifted. That's when all three judges voted for [Stone.]"

However, one insider said, "Bethenny was never going to win. She is clearly a publicity hound." Some suspect that Bethenny leaked the micro-scandal a few weeks back that she had dated Charles Koppelman's screenwriter son, Brian, 15 years ago.

Frankel referred our calls to NBC. A rep for the show declined comment.

Meanwhile, sources say Martha and Alexis were bickering later, with Alexis snubbing the after-party at Martha's nearby office."

I didn't agree with Martha's choice as Bethany did a far better job by far at the last task. I also believe that the show would have been better without Martha as I tuned or fast forwarded through everything Martha said.

Awwww man!!!!! Now I wish I had listened to Alexis and Jennifer's show yesterday on Sirius. But I was traveling. I got my boyfriend a Sirius radio for Xmas, guess I can always hook it up and listen today (had to open anyway to activate for rebate). See if they say anything. Although, they probably aren't allowed to. Because Bethany could sue.

Well, I just watched the show.
Maybe Martha did pick Dawna so her magazine would lose some competition....

I thought Dawna was a better choice, but neither of them were great.
The circus task seemed like there was more to do.

I am bummed the show was cancelled, I liked the show.
