The Apprentice- Martha Stewart

I'm glad I didn't see the commecials either.
It amazes me that they could have been so far off on that task. They are smart people, why couldn't they come up with something? My 8 year old was yelling out stuff they could have done @@.

It's funny that almost none of the tasks have even been close. One team is always a train wreck. How can one group do so well and the other group do so poorly? It doesn't seem like the bad team has anything to offer Martha. They should just quit now...

Next week that team only has 3 members....wonder if Martha will give them someone from the other team....

Anyone watch last night? They advertised it like Jim was going to be a disaster on TV and he did all right! Much better than Howie who seemed to do nothing this time.

Yep I watched. Howie did deserve to go. I didn't use to like Bettany, but I didn't mind her last night.

I know! When Jim wasn't even chosen as an on air person at first I was like 'what? :confused3 ' because of the previews. I think he did ok, though. It was great that he brought out the dad card to get people's interest.

I'm enjoying this show, but it would defintiely be a whole lot more bland and boring w/o Jim. I'm glad Martha has kept him around this long!

Now, if only Amanda can be fired!

Howie seemed to lose interest in this project -- unwisely.

Jim did a surprisingly good job on short notice.

:sunny:

I don't think the task was correct. The team who sold the most units should have won. Primarius's mistake was picking an item priced too low -- they did sell twice as many units as Matchstick.

Both Bethany and Jim have got to go!

I watched every Trunp season, so I got suckered into the Martha version. I can sum it up this way. There are only one or two people who even remotely qualify as executive material. Most of these "kids" have no business savy whatsoever. Whenever they make a presentation of meet with corporate executives, it reminds me of speech class in High School.

They've done this on Trump's version as well.

Since they got to choose the item and I believe set the pricepoint (didn't they set the price point--or was that pre-determined based on the selected item?)...then it is a fair part of the competition. It's all about how much $$$ you make in business.

You are correct. They did set the price point. On both, Trump and Martha.
I found this from an October 2004 episode:
http://yin.typepad.com/the_yin_blog/2004/10/nbcs_the_appren_1.html

The men sold 252 grills @ $71.25/ea for total revenue of $17,955.00.

The women sold 659 sets of sponges @ $27.23/ea for total revenue of $17,944.57. So the women lost by $10.43.

LOL! I can't believe Jim pulled out another win. I think Marcella really stood up for herself well in the board room.

Another preview of making Jim look out of control. Let's see if he really is that bad and finally gets the boot. But I sure have been enjoying wathing him.

I think Martha made the right decision last night. Marcella did a good job of defending herself. I have to admit, I was strangly amused at the things Jim "coached" Marcella on...he took all the negatives on Marcella and spun them into positives and then took the positives on Amanda & Ryan and spun them into negatives. Jim should be in Washington! :p

Jim has been so entertaining (besides annoying) that I am sure that is why they kept him. In fact, after observing him, I have no doubt that he knows how to behave and he walks the edge just to keep himself in the game. Also, a little OT. Do you find Martha Stewart's speech pattern annoying?

I think Martha really likes Marcella. Marcella did really well defending herself. I think Amanda knew it too.
Marcellla is right about Martha tapping into the Latin market. Not sure if she has the strength to make it as a top executive though. My guess is that even if she doesn't win, Martha may still offer her some sort of job later on.

That was a huge win! I can't believe the other team only sold 9 units!

I thought the winning team did a great job, and that was very smart to hire a PR company.

I thought Marcella did do a OK job defending herself, but I found myself saying "Sit up!" "Look confident!" She was slouched in her chair, looking on the verge of tears most of the time!

I do agree about that. I kept saying to myself "Don't cry" I know Martha hates cry babies.

YES! I can't stand the way she talks at all. Luckily the show is mostly other people and not her. LOL.

I wonder if Jim had any type of ulterior motive for helping Marcella? Or does he just really like her and was truly being nice?
