The Appliance Holiday Clock

Does anyone know how to disable this in my home appliances?

You may think it doesn't exist and I had a hard time believing it myself, but it MUST be real!

Two Christmas's ago, on my first day of vacation, my dishwasher went out.

Last Christmas, my washer went out. Again, the first day of my vacation.

This year? First day of vacation yesterday, went to make a nice breakfast and discovered the oven was out.

So, anyone know how to fix this problem? I'd sure like to enjoy a holiday without an unexpected major expense? Or, is it no longer going to be an unexpected expense because now I KNOW it's going to happen?

Next year I'm betting on the refrigerator. It's about the only thing left. I'm not going to say it outloud so it doesn't hear me....

You're mistaken. It's not a holiday clock. Your appliances don't get enough time off during the year, so they want vacation time. To fix this problem, give them more time off throughout the year. Eat out more, have DH hand wash dishes on weekends, and every so often take your clothes to the cleaners instead of washing them. Your appliances will be rested and trelaxed and won't go out of town over Christmas.
