The antics at WCC please!

My dd's loved this restaurant so much it was the only request for our upcoming trip. I planned it for our last night there so we could go out with a bang! My dd's loved all the ketchup being brought to the table! They had to take it to another table that was just a young couple and even though they didn't mind the fun, they just weren't into it. So, when the next table asked for ketchup our girls went and helped the couple distribute the ketchup. They laughed so hard! We drank several drinks that night, but never got the BIG cup. We did see a lady get hers after her fourth refill and the waiter called out that this lady had a drinking problem! funny! They did do the pony race around the restaurant, which my dd's still complain that I made them do (they thought they were too old, your never too old)! This place is a lot of fun. Some complain about it being loud, but I don't think so. I don't go to disney for a quiet vacation! ha! I hope the picture comes out, it's my first try!

Ask for Heada Lettuce - she was one of the best servers we had all week! I know you're reading this Heada! Love ya, mean it!

And here's what happens if there's no silverware on the table and you ask for a fork.

Oh I am so happy we just got a new video camera yesterday.

I am so hoping "I'm a Little Teapot" comes into play the night we are there. My dh knows about the ketsup but I won't tell him that one.

:rotfl2: :rotfl: :rotfl2: :rotfl: :rotfl2:

We went a couple of years ago prepared for all of the fun & nothing happened. Other than the pony races (which weren't great imho), the meal was just an ok experience.

OTOH, we went to 50's this year & had an absolute blast!

Both of these restaurants depend entirely on your server. Hope you get a good one!

We've eaten there 4 times and never experienced a single fun thing.:confused3 Though others in the restaurant around us did.

Our oldest who is sweetness itself has asked for ketchup every time and otherwise tried to engage the servers to no avail. The server got ketchup and put one bottle on the table. :confused3 DS told me sadly that he must not be asking the "funny" way.

Considering the food gets worse every time we go there and that we waited an hour to be seated last time in early February - while the walk ups in line ahead of us with the same party size were seated in 15 minutes - it is off our list for good.

Sure gonna miss those bottomless shakes though!

Jumping in here b/c I just read a post that breakfasts are calmer and there are not generally antics like at dinnertime? Can anyone confirm this because we have an ADR booked for b-fast this December. My girls REALLY want to see the antics and even the pony races!
We booked breakfast because I read elsewhere that dinner was hit or miss for the food and lunch was the quietest time (which we DON'T want)! Now I am concerned that we will make a special trip for breakfast and the girls will be disappointed (and so will I)!

If you are traveling with children, hide a particular color crayon...and have them ask for the missing color...see what happens! We particularly like Hedda Lettuce and Bobby the kid! Bobby brought our kids dessert(worms and dirt), and when he placed it on the table, he showed his face! There was pudding all over his face!

OMG! My dd would cry seriously. Once a waiter told her she had to eat all her food or he'd make her wash dishes. No big deal until the end she really believed him and started crying because she was so full she was scared to not eat all her food. We told the waiter and he apologied to her and brought her a yummy dessrt. (non wdw resturant)

My son made the mistake of dropping his fork and when he asked for a new one...oh yeah that was quite an experience!:rotfl2: He had to stand on the chair and yell to the entire restaurant that he had dropped his fork. One trip our server tied bandanas around our heads with straws sticking out of them. The Grandma in our bunch looked pretty funny! We have gone other times where not much happens. It all depends on your server.:)

My husband (in all seriousness) asked for a spoon for his milkshake. This is what he got:

She also had my daughter ride a pony around the restaurant singing happy birthday to herself. If anyone sees her pony, let me know. :)

I hope this doesn't come off as too cynical, but I think these sort of threads are a big problem. The reason these antics are so much fun is because they're unexpected. When you read threads like this so you know about everything that could possibly happen, then there's no element of surprise when they do happen and there's disapointment if they don't happen.
This goes for a lot of other threads I read on these boards too - things like towel animals, and character interraction.
A big reason Disney has been so magical for so many of us over the years is because of the unexpected. Internet boards like this have gone a long way to killing that magic. Now people want their magic bottled and listed on the menu, and when that happens, its no longer magic.

I've eaten there almost every trip. It really depends on who your server is. You could let the CM at the podium know you'd like one that is 'lots of fun' (I'm not real sure how to put that :lmao:). The kids will enjoy the lincoln log table. There's also a great fireplace to sit in front of.

I somewhat disagree. If I hadn't read about the antics, we would have never tried WCC in the first place, and we've been there three times since. Also, I'm just one person of a family of five reading these boards...just because I know what's coming, the rest of my family doesn't, and I still get a lot of pleasure out of their surprise.

ETA: Plus there is an advantage to getting older and forgetting what you read five minutes later, so it's all a surprise. ;)

An even BIGGER advantage is reading about all the "antics" and then being able to decide that WCC is the perfect place to AVOID.
Imagine going there expecting a nice, quiet dinner???

I agree, Bobby the Kid is one of the best servers at WCC. We had him last September and thouroughly enjoyed his company. Not only was he hilarious, we actually talked to him, he is very sweet. Candy Cane is also a hoot!

We have been here twice and are going back again in December, hoping Bobby the Kid will be there!!

We just added WCC to our list for our trip in March. Sounds like so much fun!

If you want to spoil the surprise..go to this website. Youll see a picture about 1/4 the way down.

I went to this board and it did start off interesting and then a couple of negative clowns starting putting in their insults and it went downhill quickly. I would stay on page one to look at the pics if you must, but then exit. Way too much ugliness and negativity on that board. Oh yeah, swearing and a picture of a cake with improper things for kids to see.

Sorry...I have never read anything on there, just looked at the pictures on the 1st page.

I went to that site one day when I googled "Mickey Minnie Puzzle Dessert picture". I was curious to see what a puzzle dessert was when I read it on one of the menus. I came across the picture of the WCC drinks/ketchup.

Sorry if the link was offensive. I didnt know.

Those pics were wonderful but made me sad. So many of those unique items from a few years ago are gone. Bums me out and proves to me that the food has definitely gone downhill in the past couple years. Wah.:guilty:

We ate here in early June for breakfast with 5 adults and three kids and had a blast. Pippi was our waitress and pulled up a chair and chatted with us for the longest time before we ordered. We went about 10:00 when they were transitioning from breakfast to lunch and the place was quite empty. When you're almost done with your drink, ask for just a little bit more and see what happens!
