The anti-dining trip report that could have been a disaster but ended up being Yacht-some!! April 2021 at The Yacht Club! Complete 11/5!

I was able to try a Gideon's cookie as Jenny picked one up for us last month and it was GOOD!!! Brought it home and other than my small piece and a little bit Steve took, Chris finished it off lol. I wouldn't mind getting some again but no way I'll wait on a long line. If it's a call back type thing and I have things to do/plan on hanging around DS that's fine but I'll have to see what the situation is when we're there. I would like to see inside!

When we went in August, we just gave our phone number and got a text to go back. It wasn't even that long of a wait! You really should go and see inside!

GOOFY PHOTO SHOOT


Our journey down Main Street had to include a photo shoot that started nicely enough...


but quickly turned into this...



I wish I could tell you what's happening here but I'm as baffled as you all

Luckily that passed quickly, as is the case with most things 5 year olds do,
and we were soon back to this...




My mom insisted on me getting in in a pic
which means that out of 30 pictures she snapped,
we had one half decent...


but also got some gems...




but it was a fun way to pass time until our ADR and when we checked in to CRT,
we still had a bit of a wait.


Ava made friends with a couple other kids and they had fun playing while we waited
and just after 6 we headed inside to meet Cinderella.

DINNER WITH A PRINCESS


We were brought upstairs and escorted to a table almost in the center of the room.
It meant we wouldn't get super close to cinderella,
but we also had a pretty decent 360' view
so we could see her from either side of the dining room.




Before we even ordered, Cinderella came out




She kind of walks around the upper level of the room
and she made multiple appearances while we were there.
So much so that by the time we were done with our dinner,
Ava was all but ignoring her when she came out.
It was cute, but I definitely miss the days when we met multiple princesses
up close and personal in there and I really hope they bring that back soon.
I'm glad we did it but no need to return until they go back to the way it was.

Luckily, the food was surprisingly delicious,
which for some reason I was NOT expecting!
This ended up being all of ours favorite dinner all week!

My mom and I each had the salad...


The girls got fruit...


Ava got chicken tenders for her dinner...


The rest of us got the filet.
My mom and I got the celery root mash with it.
We had to ask what that was and basically it's just mashed potatoes
but they were yummy...


Allie got hers with french fries, of course!


This dinner was so delicious and was literally the MOST I had eaten all week but I purposely left half of it on the plate because I was still worried about my tummy.

I still had to try the dessert though!

DESSERT!


For dessert, Ava got this make-your-own cupcake...


My mom got this little cheesecake...


And Allie and I both got this yummy little chocolate cake...

This was so good!
I definitely ate more than I should have but luckily,
my tummy was definitely much better by then and it was fine.

We headed downstairs and took a couple pics where Cinderella used to meet




I was about to take a pic of Allie when Ava tripped and fell off camera...


Luckily, she was fine and got right up!

It was a gorgeous night and Allie wanted a pic for her Instagram
so we took like 10 million for one decent pic
(JK…they were all good but not according to her!)


It was really such a perfect, low-key relaxing night
and we were just really enjoying the atmosphere of the MK


After our photo shoot,
Allie and I noticed the wait time for 7DMT wasn't terrible
so we decided to get in line.
Ava decided she'd rather go on the carousel again so we split up for a bit.

This was taken at 8:55 and the park closed at 9
so we were among the last rides of the night.


Afterwards, we all met back up.
It took us a bit to get out and wait for the bus and Ava was tired by that time...


We were back at The YC by 10
and headed to bed knowing we had to be up early again the next day
to try for another BG for ROTR.

Your meals look delicious! We have always done breakfast with Jimmy to see his #1 girl, but Rob & I did dinner there once and loved it. I agree that we probably won't go back until things are "normal" again and you get some actual face to face time with the princesses. I sure hope that happens again one day!

this was the view from our balcony this morning and I had to sit and savor it a bit

Gorgeous view!!!! Nothing better than a relaxing start to a Disney day on a balcony. I seriously hate rooms without balcony's just because I can't get any of this magic.

At the time, if you weren't among the first 20 or so in line,
you would get a text to come back.
But I've head this is no longer the case as it just isn't as busy as it was initially.

They weren't doing it earlier this month. We got there around 11 or 1130 and only had a 20 minute wait or so.

Allie had the triple chocolate and I had the coffee-cake cookie.
Both were amazing, but hers was better.
We ended up buying six pounds of cookies that day to share and bring home.

They do limit how many you can buy now. I think its 6. We got 4 and brought them home with us though some littler girl ate about 90% of them

I got the southwest salad and everyone else got the tenders.
I have to say, I don't really eat fast food, like EVER, but this was very good.
So good, in fact, that I kind of want to go back in October

I'm so with you in no fast food. We never eat it, but came this close to doing it a few weeks ago. But then we said its just chicken how good can it be and went to Wine Bar George instead

Hey there! Trying to get back in the swing of the Dis, and I just caught up on your TR. unfortunately I’m on my phone so no quotes.

I’m so glad by this time in the trip report your stomach is starting to feel better, hope it’s completely healed now.

I’ve never stayed at the Beach Club but after staying at the Yacht Club I’m worried I wouldn’t like it either. Those YC rooms are just so nice!

Ava is so cute and she seems like such a trooper with the long, hot Disney days!

How fun that you got to have a little meet up with Su-Lynn and Su-Queen! You all look really cute, beachwear and all! Can’t wait to read more!

Hello, everyone!

Hi!! This one has been on my "watch" list for quite some time now, and I finally made it over here!

I am seriously out of practice here on the TR boards

Meeee tooo!! I get it.

After a million dollar work-up and many, many injections of radiopaque dye, it turns out it was my gallbladder causing the pain in my abdomen, and I finally ended up getting it out on March 15th.
It was a long four months of feeling crummy and I thought, "great, once this sucker comes out, all my troubles will be resolved." Well, it wasn't the instant relief I thought it would be and even now, almost two months later, I am still having issues and intermittent discomfort, but I am finally feeling somewhat better and hope that eventually I'll be back to normal

Oh no! What a pain! So sorry you've been dealing with this, but glad things finally started getting better.

Disneyland/Aulani for summer 2022. That was supposed to be DD's graduation trip this year but with so much uncertainty, we pushed it off. I've been dreaming of visiting DL for soooooo long that when I go, I want ALL THE THINGS!

Me too! We so want to go to Disneyland and we had a trip booked for just a few months into when all this virus stuff went down that obviously was cancelled. But I'm really anxious to get there eventually!

She is such a sweet girl and is turning into my Disney partner-in-crime. She seems to be the only one around here who speaks my Disney language and is actually helpful when planning trips. We're hoping someday she'll get into the DCP (yay, for its return!) because that would give me even more excuses to go to WDW! She is on these boards as @olafofwarmhugs, but she almost never comes on.She's a busy girl nd has been dancing competitively for years, which she loves, and she also was fortunate enough to be cast as the lead in her high school musical this year. She played Audrey in Little Shop of Horrors, and it was such an awesome show!

Such a great hard-working girl -- you must be very proud of your Allie!

She was so much fun on this trip and has literally facetimed me everyday since we got home to talk about what rides we're going on in August.
She's a hoot and kept us laughing the whole time.

Well, let's just say, I did not feel good after this surgery, although I did go back to work two weeks after having it. I was still having back and abdominal pain and speaking to the GI doc and the surgeon, they kept telling me that there's really nothing else and I should start feeling better. To make an already long story short, I wasn't feeling better and honestly, the day before we were to leave, I ate a slice of toast and a banana and was feeling MUCH worse after, as in I was trying to pack and kept having to take rest breaks and lay down.

Ooof that stinks! I'm so glad you were able to go, but I'd definitely be questioning at that point too.

One thing that surely saved me was that just a few days before we left, I had been chatting with Liesa, @Steppesister who was having troubles of her own and was saying she was getting herself a scooter. Well, duh, that had never even occurred to me, but once she said it I called the same place we rented my mom's from and asked if we could add on a second scooter…just in case. At the time, I was thinking that if I was feeling amazing, I would cancel it. Well, thank GOODNESS for that scooter! I really think it saved the trip

So smart! I'm glad this worked out for you and for Liesa, too! Really is a great tool for when you need it for things like this.

I left them at the pool and went up to call Bell Services to deliver our luggage,
and let's be real, to take a million pictures of our room before we messed it up!
