~ The Amazing Race ~ Season 16 ~

I agree, except I'd give the cowboys 3 errors this leg.
They screwed up by not trying to secure seats as close to the front of the plane as possible before getting something to eat too.
I say if Brent and Caite thought of it, it's obvious enough that anyone who missed it, gets an error. :rotfl:

Okay, this made me laugh. Isn't that the truth? Poor kids. Like my mom used to say....... Well, at least they're pretty. LOL!!!

Haven't posted yet on this thread, but been reading all along. The cowboys are my favorites, but I have to say they better pull their heads out! Wow! Not only 3 mistakes this leg, but the leg before going to the wrong town TWICE! They're lucky they are still in. They ran the first few legs with ease--what's happened??

That said.... I hate that they equalized the game with them all flying together like that. I think instead of drawing the numbers, they should have had to stay in the order they arrived at the mat the night before---that would have been fair.

I thought the lesbians were pretty bad, but Caite is a shrew. She needs to go.

The detectives and the brothers are cracking me up!

that's how it used to be - whatever time they come in is the time they leave 12 hours later.

maybe not all seasons but i do remember some people leaving at 3 or 4am while others left 7 or 8

The Cowboys were driving me crazy. I don't know what would be worse-being eliminated because you messed up(big time) or being eliminated because of circumstances beyond your control.

I would like the cowboys to stay but since the preview was all about them, I have a feeling they are next.

I don't like the models but they can stick around as long as he keeps re-inventing the english language. That was entertaining.

Every season has flights, openings, etc. that even up the playing field. There's usually two or three at least.

But they had the opportunity to buy their tickets first and be at the front of the plane. They chose to eat first, allowing couples that left last to secure better seats.

I was thinking about something in regards to this yesterday. Those packs look too big to carry on, especially on an international flight. I would also imagine that people have things like Swiss-Army knives (that is the first thing I would think to pack) that wouldn't be allowed to be carried on anyway. If that is the case they have to go wait for their bags and the speed of departing the airport would no longer be dependent on their flight seat but the luck of getting their baggage first.

I know that when flying I have had smaller bags that they insisted I check.

I agree with you on the bags, but I swear, they showed someone waiting to deplane this episode, and they were wearing their backpack (it was actually two members of the same team--Carol and Brandy, maybe?). Certainly, those packs SEEM too big to carry on.

I love the cowboys, but they have to get their heads back in the game. The teams are too bunched up for stupid mistakes. Retrieve a bottle and then they leave it on the boat? WTH? But yet, everyone managed to carry the gnome to the mat...

I like Steve and Allie, and I hope they can do okay without their packs. Maybe another team donated a shirt to Steve? You can survive without clean underwear or duct tape, but a lot of establishments, you have to have a shirt on. And that's without the issues of cold weather. Although I think they hold on to the teams' cold weather gear and hand it out when they need it--it just seems like they get to Alaska, Russia, wherever, and all of a sudden, they have parkas.

As to Joe and Heidi--they can be po'd at the cops all they want, but it was a legitimate, strategic move. If the cops did something underhanded, like stole their plane tickets--yeah, that would be below the belt. But, using a race strategy that eliminates another team--well, dem's da breaks.

Brent and "anonymous"--bad news, Sweetie--looks fade, dumb is forever! I don't even think he's that good looking. Here's hoping his brain works better when he's not exhausted and stressed...

Caite is dead in the eyes. Anyone else notice that?

i was wondering about the back packs too - she made a comment about it'll be faster without them.

i instantly thought that meant not having to wait to get them off the luggage claim and that they could move faster without the 40lb pack
they could always go buy a small light back pack, toothbruch underwear and one change of clothes that would make it a carryon pack and light to carry around instead of carrying a plastic bag like someone did a few years ago

Also they won't have to put them in the trunk like they always show them doing. :thumbsup2

I think that is her trying to come up with an intelligent thought. I imagine they Photoshop the smoke that has to come out of her ears at the same time.

If that's the case, what difference would it make if they are in the front of the plane or in the back? I've never been on a flight were the luggage has made it to the claim area before the passengers do.

It could still make a difference in the right circumstances, just not all that often. I have flown to some airports that de-board on the tarmac and the luggage is already on the belt when I have gotten there. This happened to me at the busiest airport in all of Europe so I imagine it could happen at some of the smaller airports that have to service some of the areas they fly to. Outside of that situation I don't know if sitting in the front actually is an advantage.

They could have the packs on the planes but looking at them I am not sure how they don't have to put them in those testers they have at the counter and have them fit. Unless the TV adds 10 lbs to baggage too.

well if they have to check the packs then more often then not the last on is the first off so while you would be the first off the plane if you sat near the door your the last to get your luggage if you got it on first.

that might not always work out it would depend on how the airport you boarded at load the plane and how the airport you land at take it off and process it

Has there EVER been a blind U-turn that the u-turned team didn't know who did it. Or find out very shortly after.

I guess I don't see why the blind U-turn is any different than the regular ole U-turn.

It's just part of the game, IMO
IIRC, Margie and Luke managed to keep the Blind U-Turn under their hats for quite a while and even deflected some of the blame to another team that no one liked.

I don't like the blind U-Turn. I would rather a team just own up to the fact that they used it.

BTW, my new favorite team is the Cops. Too much religion out of Steve and Allie last episode for my heathen tastes.

We call that look the Duuuuhh. She literally looks like she's got absolutely nothing going on in her head - ever. Too bad, I was hoping she'd be able to redeem herself after the pagent debockle (sp?).
