The Amazing Race 7...official Thread

Not only from the extended pit stop did everyone get extra rest, but each couple had a deluxe cabin and were given a private safari. In Gretchens report she talked about the wonderful time they had at that pit stop.
It may have been orginally been planned as an extended pit stop but just made longer because of Rob tooth problem.

I didn't realize they would extend a leg because someone needed medical assistance. It seems a little unfair. After all, they didn't stop or extend the race when the brothers crashed their car, so why did they extend it because Rob needed root canal. He should have either lived with the pain or dropped out of the race.
By the way, I'm not saying this because it's Rob. I just don't understand why they would extend it so he could get root canal.
It's not just a matter of living with the pain. If a person needs a root canal, and doesn't get one in a timely manner, they may run the risk of losing the tooth all together. I would almost equate this with the time that Michael S. was burned in Survivor. Granted, his injuries were much more severe, and required his removal from the game, but I would think that if a player needed medical help that could allow him to continue, then the show would arrange for it if possible. We might have seen this last season when the dad fell and cut his leg. If he hadn't been able to get his leg stitched up at the airport, CBS would have probably arranged for it once he reached the pit stop.

As much as I dislike Rob, I have no problem with the show taking an extra-long pitstop. Honestly, it was less fair to TTWSNBN than the other teams. Rob had to have oral surgury and Amber spent her time worrying about him. The other teams got to rest and play.

The reason for the extra long pit stop is that Rob had a problem with a bad tooth and it required a dentist. Since so many of the others disliked them because they kept making remarks that the producers were helping them, Amber decided to have some fun with them. She was eating breakfast by herself and someone came over and asked where Rob was, her response was "He is meeting with the producers to get our secret clues". The look on the other person's face was priceless. I wish I could remember who asked her. I told you I need to get a life. I don't remember where I read this (maybe Sucks) or saw a video on it.

I found where you might have saw it, on televsion without pity. The person who wrote it knows Amber. That's what it says on this message board. Here is a link to where it says it.

Gretchen got her stitches as well.

And on Survivor--you will occasionally (or maybe even frequently) see players who are normal--then all of a sudden wearing a first aid item. I think Sue Hawk hurt herself, but can't remember--we didn't see it...but she *poof* was bandaged up or something (it was a she, might not have been Sue). And what we learned from the burn incident---they have first aid on-site hiding out of camera view. And he thought he could return to the game--I saw his interview the following morning and he refused food for 2 days or something like that so that he could go back in. His wife had NO IDEA he was injured until the show.

Thanks for that link--reading along and just had an aha as one of the posters pointed out...if indeedy the whole root canal, "secret clue" comment is true--that would explain Rob not wanting to give them any money and calling her a "con artist" (page 98 of that link). That would make sense!

smt218--- Thanks for refreshing my memory about where I got the information on the root canal. It was from the statements Amber's friend made. After reading so many different forums they all start to go together.

Can't wait for next week. I am just so glad the final episode will be before my WDW trip.

ITA ::yes::

I'm on pins and needles for tonight's episode, I'm so excited. I can't imagine what I'll do if Meredith and Grethcen outlast Rob and Amber, or any toher team for that matter!

Go M/G!!

My wife and I are so hoping Bab and Romber get the boot tonight and yes it was meant to be spelled like that.

Isn't tonight another non-elim? Won't the two hour finale be aired next week? The first hour team # 4 is lost, then the second hour should be the final three? This is just based on previous seasons....?

Sometimes the non-elim is when they are down to the final 3...it was first season--but no penalties associated with being last to the pit stop. With the penalties in place--I would guess tonight would be a non-elim...but then that would be back to back non-elims.

So :confused3 .

Tonight's episode is an elimination.

This year, the finale will feature 3 teams racing in two legs (like it was in the early seasons.)

I actually want Romber to win but unfortunately I don't believe that's the case.

They're not even in the final episode yet!

Maybe I'll listen to you if they're still in the running after tonight's episode.......
