The Amazing Race 7...official Thread

I wish in addition to posting what times the teams leave the first leg of the race, I wish they would also post what time they arrive at the pit stop. We really don't know yet how much time G/M lost looking for the clue in the tower. It could have only been 10 - 15 minutes (take the elevator up, look around, go back down, look around, go back up - see the box and go down and get it.) And they could have only spent 5 minutes looking for the man with the scales. Editing made it look like a really long time and that Romber was on their tails but who knows yet. We'll have to wait for them to leave next week. I'd still rather hear a 66 year old lady whine than a couple of young men verbally attack their girlfriends. I hope they finish second to Joyce and Uchena - not that a think they will, but then again, I didn't think they'd make it this far. Can you imagine how well they would be doing if they hadn't made so many careless mistakes?

I was wincing last night watching it (I had it TiVo'ed) with Rob seeming to be more of a braggadocio than normal (normal for him, at least), all I could think of is whenever they've got people saying something or doing something repeatedly, that they'll somehow script it so it bites them in the end.

And it was weird how they had Rob talking, but you couldn't see him, and it sounded like they cobbled together a sentence from 20 unrelated words that he had used. I found myself thinking, does that bother Rob to watch the show and hear himself say sentences that never came out of his mouth? I'd be peeved!

And the people on Amazing Race must think we're pretty dumb if we don't notice that you can't SEE Rob saying these ridiculous things (and he says plenty of them when you CAN see his lips moving) and that it sounds weirdly garbled and cut together?

What's up with that!

Make them stop!

It's good enough without the producers making a Frankensteinian Rob voice. Wouldn't ya know it, I'll be in Disney when their wedding airs. I'm so TiVo'ing that sucker! I think the two of them are fantastically entertaining. And I think they make a good couple, they're a good team.

Man, I so want to slap that beauty queen. I bet her future (or maybe not) mother in law wants to now, too!

Kelly’s determination has always been a part of her life. After growing up with a learning disability, she graduated cum laude from North Greenville College. After being crowned Miss South Carolina, she went on to compete in the Miss America pageant. Kelly describes herself as well-rounded and persistent

Maybe we should give her a break afterall she does have a learning disability....or maybe not!

The pit stop is 12 hours. So if you change the am to pm or pm to am...then you know what time they got there ;) Also--Phil will usually say for the first team "so and so arrived were the first to arrive at 1:00PM and will be the first to depart at 1:00AM" cue to tear open that clue. ;)

These are the only times disclosed except for the occasions where we see the departure times for transportation. We hear about the arrivals usually only when a teammember is speaking about it.

A little late in finding this board... Sorry.

I just love the show and I know, from the few post that I have read thus far, that it doesn't seem like there are many Rob & Amber fans. I am a huge fan. I know, they don't have the cleanest game, but I love them anyway! Who all do you want to win?

There was actually one pitstop (in Africa) that was 36 hours, but not sure if they ever said anything about that.

I got the information from a site that had Meredith/Gretchen posting their own recaps from episodes, but it looks like the site was taken down.

Anyway, I want Meredith and Gretchen to win! Will they? No way. Will they even make it into the final 3? Probably not. But they crack me up, and its nice seeing a relationship like theirs. Plus, you gotta respect them doing the things they have been able to do. Sure they are very incompetent and very very lucky at times, but I love them.

Welcome to the AR thread!

Actually, there are a lot of us Rob & Amber fans here.

GO ROB & AMBER!! :cheer2:

I know that but I hate waiting a week to find out what time they arrived at the pit stop, plus I'd like to know how far behind the eliminated team was. We don't get that information. If they put it on when they arrived at the pit stop, we'd know right away, plus air it again as a reminder when they leave for the next leg of the race.

I agree. I think it would be great too if we knew by how much the last team lost by, whether it was hours or minutes.

Oh, I get it--misunderstood your question.

But that's why I make sure I'm tuned in at 9pm promptly the following week :)

The reason for the extra long pit stop is that Rob had a problem with a bad tooth and it required a dentist. Since so many of the others disliked them because they kept making remarks that the producers were helping them, Amber decided to have some fun with them. She was eating breakfast by herself and someone came over and asked where Rob was, her response was "He is meeting with the producers to get our secret clues". The look on the other person's face was priceless. I wish I could remember who asked her. I told you I need to get a life. I don't remember where I read this (maybe Sucks) or saw a video on it.

Now see, THAT is the kind of stuff I would like to see in a clips show. The going-ons of the pit stops between the teams. That must of been PRICELESS.

Thats right, Rob needed a root canal, but wasn't sure if thats the official reason the pitstop was extended.

And Gretchen is the one who was all paranoid about Rob/Amber getting extra help from the producers, and seemed to try to convince the other teams about this.

Not sure where I even read all of this, must have been Sucks, linked from Sucks.

It might have been Suckers, but it seems like I saw a video. Could it have been the CBS AR video clips. It takes me forever to watch those CBS clips with all the crazy popups that come up. Finally found a link from Sucks that helps to avoid the popups. Anyway the pitstop was extended because of that root canal.

Did you notice that Gretchens webpage was only up for a day and then gone. Wonder if CBS got wind of everyone on the internet finding it.

I didn't realize they would extend a leg because someone needed medical assistance. It seems a little unfair. After all, they didn't stop or extend the race when the brothers crashed their car, so why did they extend it because Rob needed root canal. He should have either lived with the pain or dropped out of the race.
By the way, I'm not saying this because it's Rob. I just don't understand why they would extend it so he could get root canal.

I don't think they disrupt legs in progress. Pit stops are at least 12 hours.

Surely if something happened prior to the start of the race..they would delay the start. Once it starts--game on!

At least everyone benefits from an extra long pit stop and they all get additional rest.

I read somewhere, a couple of years ago, that they will extend a pit stop for medical reasons, really bad weather, or if the contestants are so tired that they could endanger themselves doing the tasks...things like that. One thing I remember was that they will always leave 12 clock hours later, so a pitstop will be extended by 24 hours, never just 12, for a total of 36 hours as in the case with Rob's tooth.
