Did anyone see J & V on the early show this morning? I'd love to know what was said.
I saw the show, and they were asked if they could explain their behavior. J said that he is not happy with the person he saw on the screen and that he is a better person than that. He also said he didn't know the person on the screen, but that he is very competitive and that he has apologised to V in private. He said he took a deep look at himself and tried to make adjustments to make sure that person doesn't come out again.
V was asked if she ever saw that side of him before and she replied that he has always been intense, but she never saw him with that intesity before. She went on to say that their biggest problem was that they both got too serious about the race and too intent on winning.
In regard to the shoving incident, J said that it was wrong and he has no excuses for it, and that he didn't know she picked up his pack and when he realized that she did he was so upset and that being so competitive he turned all compassion off to everything he did on the race. He went on to say that he went on the show intending to be the villain and it just got away from him.
V said that when she cut her finger on the nail she was so broken at that point because she didn't have any sleep, hadn't eaten, had to use the bathroom, and was really exhausted, that she just panicked because it was so deep. She then went to J's defense saying she told him to keep doing the race, and not to stop, but that they didn't show that. They both said they are such fans of the show and that the spirit of the show got away from them. When asked if there was peace in their relationship, they said yes absolutely and that they had many good times on the race, but they didn't show any of it.
I'm not sure what to think of them, I think they are very good at smoothing things over, hopefully watching the show did give them a jolt to re-evaluate what is important to them
