The All-New What's For Dinner Thread!!(recipe index in OP)

I can't see the ribs picture. Did you delete it?

Gina, congratulations!

Gretchen, I will put up the tuna recipe when I get home. It is really super easy.

Laurie sounds like you have been having a crazy time of it!

I really want soy-braised chicken and fried rice tonight but I think John is still on a no-Asian-food kick, grr. I might just make some pasta.

Thanks, I'll bet that was delicious with Lauren's Famous Tomato Sauce! For that sauce, do follow Lauren's instructions exactly? Meatballs & ribs & salt pork? And one more question, is Country Spare Ribs, the same thing as Country Style Pork Ribs?

I follow Lauren's recipe exactly and yes It's C/S Pork Ribs. We had enough food to feed an army. I've got 2 large containers in the freezer for nights when I'm too tired to cook.:goodvibes

We had some interesting wildlife come visit while DD was in the swimming pool.
You can see part of her head in the bottom right corner.

She was a little freaked out by the two egrets that hung around for about 15 minutes, even trying to stick a foot in the pool!

So this is what Cajuns do, when local wildlife hang out in the backyard.

Beer Can Egret & barbecue ribs!!!!

:lmao: Just kidding! That was the wine filled coke can chicken & country style ribs I fixed for DH! This chicken came out so juicy, I marinated it in evoo, garlic, white wine, spices & rosemary, then put the same mixture in the coke can. I used one of Lauren's recipes too, her vietnamese marinade on the ribs. Then I saved some of the marinade, boiled it & then added barbecue sauce to it & put that on while cooking. They were delicious.

This is why my ex's father told him never to eat the "chicken" :rotfl2:

Some people lost power around here too but not me, thank goodness. I don't do the Laura Ingalls thing well. I too much city. ;)

Tonight is leftover fish cakes and Kathy's secret sauce. That's what I told Mr A, he is on a no mayo kick. Mr A's secret sauce is hot sauce. Lori stepped up to just below god with her present (lousiana hot sauce).

I wonder how the sauce is on chips?;)

Last night I made Paula Deen's chocolate chip pancakes.

Oh Yummy!

Here are some photos from saturday. (I am behind!)

I'm drooling!

I survived the weekend!

Jeez, it sounds like you barely survived! Make sure that Bacardi is 151...come here and visit, Tom is known for his Malibu Bay Breezes with a 151 floater...::yes::

Congratulations to your Daughter!!! :thumbsup2 I am sure she is enjoying her gift!!!

Hello all you wonderful people!

Hey Gina! Congrats again! What a great story!

Hey y'all,

I haven't read everything yet, but wanted to check in while I could. We had bad weather here yesterday. Our power was out from about 4 in the morning, until 2 in the afternoon.

Wow! Sounds adventurous. Stay safe! Loved seeing your visitor...he's a cutie. I'll have to try that with the marinade. I am glad you guys like it.

Don't forget the sausage! :thumbsup2

Lauren- since you will be there for your anniversary, make sure you get your anniversary pins, we got ours from the front desk of the hotel. Even if you don't were them, they are really cute. We were there for our anniversary two years ago and it was the best, after the fireworks at Epcot (our favorite) he gave me my "engagement" ring that we had no money for when we got married. I always told him I didn't need one, but secretly really wanted one.

I am planning on getting the pins but Tom probably won't wear one...he's low key and doesn't like attention...:confused3

What a sweet hubby you have!

I am going to look in Norway for the perfume. heard alot about it on the boards.

Lauren, it seems like yesterday we were talking about your poison ivy and looking at pictures. What a wonderful way to celebrate your anniversary, a vacation in Disney.

I cannot believe its been a year...I am getting really excited about our trip...we are going to see La Nouba on our anniversary too. :goodvibes I may get a sitter one night too so we can have some adult time.

I follow Lauren's recipe exactly and yes It's C/S Pork Ribs. We had enough food to feed an army. I've got 2 large containers in the freezer for nights when I'm too tired to cook.:goodvibes

Its always better when its premade too. I am so glad that you guys like this! :)

Hope everyone is having a great day! I just sat down for the first time today and looked so forward to surfing the net but Tom just called and he left work early and is hungry. Guess I better go start cooking...:rolleyes1

I also have been wanting to start my new book.

It's official!!!!!!! Kyle's dream has come true, he is a Delgado Dolphin. We were formally notified today. He's on :cloud9: and I'm breathing a financial sigh of relief.:cool1:

Becky, The ribs are on the right. They're all stacked up, it's country style pork ribs, they're big,and thick with more meat than bone.

I wanted to tell you, that DH was showing off your cooking at work today. One of the guys he works with, has commented on the leftovers he brings for lunch. So Bob showed him some of my pics. The guy was in shock saying "Nobody eats like that at home!" & Bob said you should see some of the food some of these people on my wife's cooking thread do. They were amazed at your food. The friend is also a Sox fan & when he realized you were in Boston & a Sox fan, he was in awe! he said " Awww man, cooks like that & a Sox fan too!" So tell John he'd better treat you right, there are guys in New Orleans looking for a woman like you!!!

That sounds like it would feed an army! Thanks!

:lmao: Yeah, it's chicken, reeeallly it's chicken! :rotfl2:

My SIL laughed at my Laura Ingalls comment. She said " Oh yeah, that was hard on your big huge gas grill with high power burner on the side!" :lmao: Well yeah it's hard! No electricity for more than 10 minutes is a hardship for me!! Much less cooking too... :confused3

Lauren, Thanks again for that marinade recipe. My DD usually doesn't eat pork, but even she ate one!

There's soo much meat in there, the sausage did slip my mind! I'll have to make that in steps. The meatballs one day & then the rest of it the next day.

I started reading the book, I hope you like it. I've read it before, but forgot just how good it was!

Ann I hope you don't mind my borrowing your work.

Kathy What is Kyle studing besides baseball? Is the college close to home so he can commute or will he room there too?

WFD- very boring...baked chicken wings, french style greens beans, and salad.

Today, we changed our resort for our Sept. yet again. we started with ASMo, then CSR, now using our DVC on BWV but we are waitlisted for one night ...so this could change again who knows maybe SSR!:rotfl: We seemed to make a thousand changes before every trip do you? DH loves making plans, he is my personal travel agent!

Ann

Ann, you are very lucky to have a husband that plans...I try to get Tom to look at pics of a resort, menu, etc and he just is not interested. I hope your wait list goes through...:)

Right now he is not sure what he wants to do but is starting out with Business Admin. can't go wrong there for a start, right? Delgado is less than 20 miles from home so he'll be staying HOME!!!!!!!! Here's a link to the school's baseball site where the list of new signees has been listed:

OKW MOM ~ The mac & cheese went to work today with DH and the Tupperware returned empty with a note in it from one of his friends....

Maria, When will you be making more Mac & Cheese?

Great success all around!
Thanks again!

I must confess...DH was the original Disney fanatic in this family, but we are all on the WDW bandwagon now (even DS).:mickeyjum

DH has planned all our trips even honeymoon, you can tell he did well on that one ...because we now have DS as a souvenier!;)

Awwww, I hope I get a great souvenir like that someday! ;)

I guess I am lucky enough to have gotten Tom on the Disney bandwagon...even if he doesn't plan anything right? All he wants to do is go on ToT again! He loves that ride...and to think, before me he didn't go on any rides. Hooray for the motion sickness patch! :cool1:

I got up this am at 4:00 and before we left I went to move her hair straightener and burned 3 fingers! Then, I skip home for lunch to do DBF's TT&L payment and SLAM my foot into the desk:headache: . I think I broke my toe, it is black and hurts like the devil, I get myself together and get back to work with a mint lifesaver in my mouth, bite it and break a tooth!:scared1: UNCLE!!!!

My stars Laurie. I think you ought to have a glass or three of wine and go straight to bed. You should be safe there. Seriously, what a time you had this weekend. I hope all goes better this week.

And congrats on your daughter graduating. I've had so much trouble with DsS and school that I'm not sure I'll feel anything but elation when he graduates, but I can understand that it is bittersweet.

Hello all you wonderful people!

happy to be back over here :)

Good to see you again.

I wonder how the sauce is on chips?;)

I think we may be related. :rotfl: I bet it is terrific, if terrible for you.

:cool1: :cool1: Kathy that is wonderful!!!! I'm so happy for all of you. And the good news couldn't have come at a better time for your family. Tell Kyle I'm happy for him and can't wait to follow his college pitching career.

Good luck on the waitlist Ann. With the children I've never been brave enough to do it. I just can't wrap my mind around having to move three children and a sloppy husband once we've settled in. I do hope you get what you want.

Thank you for sharing the good reviews with me. That was very nice of you. And I can't believe your willpower in sending all the leftovers to go back to the Nutrisystem. A woman at my office tried it for a month and I got to see most of her food. :worried: I'm amazed that you've stayed on it long enough to lose what, 25 pounds (your weight loss ticker disappeared)? Good going! I wish I could muster the willpower to diet again.

Awwww, I hope I get a great souvenir like that someday! ;)

I hope you do too. I've been praying for it.

Well, we ended up eating banana pudding for dinner tonight. Kenny took the leftovers with him to work and didn't tell me. So, thinking dinner was pretty much done, I started on the laundry planning on heating the dinner when he got home. Oh well, there's milk and fruit in the pudding so that makes it ok, right? ;)
