I've read about ten pages of this monster thread and I CAN NOT WAIT to get there on Jan. 31 with our two boys.

We are staying club level....I take it that's same as concierge right? Hope so because we are definitely wanting to do the Sunrise Safari.

Big question...how does the weather affect the animals we can see from the rooms? Right now, it's as cold down there as it's been in years....hopefully it'll warm up to normal by the time we get there, but if it's cold, will we see any animals?

Club level is the same as concierge so you qualify for the Sunrise Safari, but I think you really should book this ahead of time! I think it is booked through IPO but others might be able to tell you more about that. Also there is a FAQ thread here on the resort board about staying club level, this might be interesting to read as well.

I really hope that it will be warmer by the time you are there because I will be there from 1/27 as well! But I have read a report yesterday from someone at Kidani who mentioned that they see lots of animals around!! So the cold does not keep them away.

I can't say FOR SURE- but we were there in a Grand Villa last February when it was 30 degrees Farenheit......and they were all out- even all night. It was actually kind of sad considering these are warm weather animals....

I needed to know is where is the tv in the lobby in the AKL! Oh! One more thing the pool with the water slide is closed today!

Just returned from our stay at Kidani Village. BEAUTIFUL! We had a great standard view room. Room #7933 5th floor overlooking the pool and also had a side view of the savanna. Our room couldn't have been any better! Will post pictures later. Can't wait to go back!

That's great that you had a great std view room. Was it a DVC studio by any chance? I have a std view studio booked for Spring Break and was hoping that the view would be OK. This will be our first stay in Kidani.

I posted this elsewhere, but this might be the best place for it.

We will be staying in a 2 bd villa in Jambo house in Dec. I am looking for suggestions on room requests. All rooms are pool view (but I'm holding out the tiniest, tiniest, tiniest bit of hope for an upgrade to Savannah. I know, I know.)

We'll have 3 kids with us, 9, 6, and 1. I'd love to be close to the buses, but in a relatively quiet area. Most important factor, however, is the view. I know we'll be on the 5th floor, but I'm wondering if the rooms just above Mara, Jiko, etc, have a good deal of rooftops in the view.

Are the rooms just off the lobby really noisy?

Last question...attached pic shows the room categories. We'll be in one of the rooms marked with yellow. The rooms on the pod on the far side of the pool...can you walk through the pool are to get to the buses, or do you have to walk through the hall, then the lobby, then out to the buses?

We just found out we WILL be staying at AKV October 17 - 22, 2010...
DH planned this to celebrate my 40th birthday and we CAN'T WAIT to go!!!!!
No details yet on Jambo or Kidani, but we will just be happy to be there!

Great pics. We will be staying at Kidani in September. Can't wait. We stayed there for two days last September and in Jambo House in Feb. 2009. We love both places but prefer the homey feel of Kidani. Plus, the one bedroom was bigger in Kidani.
