The All-New "unofficial" AKL/AKV's Jambo & Kidani FAQ thread.....

Another minor question I just thought of: are their alarm clocks in the rooms or do you have to get a wake-up call?

We leave 3 weeks from today!!!!

Yup, I believe so.

I can't remember a room I've stayed in at AKL where I've made use of it (we always get the wake up calls...what can I say, we're true Disney geeks), but there has always been an alarm clock on ONE of the bedside tables.

I was planning to ship some boxes to AKL prior to my trip. Has anyone done this before and what would be the correct way of going about this?

Can someone also confirm that I have the correct address for AKL?

2901 Osceola Parkway
Lake Buena Vista, FL 32830

Thanks so much!

Anyone know the answer to this?

So is it worth going the concierge level for AKV or not, my wife and I are in a civil debate over this and we are at a quagmire. We have come to some what of an agreement. If we get waitlisted for a 1br savanna view in Oct, she said take standard view and save the points, but we will loose the Savannah View for my DS which he loves. I say then go concierge and try and get the sunset savannah view but it is not guaranteed and she feels it is somewhat worth the points, but when you break it down it is better to go DDP.

Any help will be greatly appreciated, thanks in advance.

If you're talking about October of '08....you can try for the concierge villas, but your decision may already be made for you. They go QUICK to the owners at AKV at 11 months, exactly. There's only 5 2 BR lockoffs (which you probably know) so supply is pretty limited. I think I've heard of one or two people getting them at 7 months...but we'd be beyond even THAT mark now for October.

Given the choice, I'd go with concierge. The lounge, and more importantly the ability to book the Sunrise Safari, are worth it to me. Having daily housekeeping in a DVC villa is also VERY nice....

It's correct - I'm going to ship a box of baby supplies approx. 5 days before our arrival and will address the package something like this:

Animal Kingdom Lodge
GUEST: (insert your name), CONF: (insert #)
HOLD FOR CHECK-IN: (insert date)
2901 Osceola Parkway
Lake Buena Vista, FL 32830

Hope this helps! :wizard:

that is a very good idea... especially with all the items you need for a baby... and since so many are disposable.. you don't have to worry about taking them home after using. hahaha

forgive me if this was addressed already...has the contact information for club level planning changed? I used what was provided on the first few posts, and my emails are undeliverable. thanks in advance for any help...

How likely is it if you book a standard room and they upgrade you to a savannah? We are thinking about amending our booking from POFQ to AKL

Posted this on somewhere else in the Resorts section and haven't gotten any answers. Didn't think to post the question to the all-things-AKL group!

We are going to be at AKL mid-May and I'd like to have a little something in the room for my two boys. I spoke with in-room dining today and they don't do the really cute "Edible Treat" that I saw on here (pretzel fence with animals and chocolate bar with AKL logo) so I am leaning towards the "Brownies and cookie" thing. It has a AKL type name but I can't remember it right now. She said that it includes brownie(s), cookies and a chocolate AKL logo bar. If anyone has gotten this I'd like to hear your review of it, how many treats there were, etc. I'd like to know what I'm getting for $50 should I decide to get it. If there aren't many treats on the plate I'd rather get a cake for $50 instead. So speaking of cakes... how is the zebra cake?

TIA

Does anyone know what floor is the lobby actually on? do they have pool-view room right off the lobby floor? Thanks.

It usually depends on how crowed they are...it can't hurt to ask!!

Look like we'll be there at the same time!:cool1:

Good Luck

Based upon the other posts that I have seen, you should probably contact them. I would contact them at just before the 180 day mark so that they can make your reservations for you.
