OK, I'm sure this info is on this thread a bunch of times, but I haven't made it through the whole thread (and don't think I'll get through it before our trip in 2 weeks....what a long thread!!!). Here goes:

Coffee makers - I have read that they are not available upon request, but then somewhere else I read that they are available if you request them. Can anyone confirm this for me? (Yes, I know there's coffee for the refillable mugs, but that Nescafe is just not exactly what DH and I call coffee.

Frozen coke - I read somewhere that there are two flavors. Can anyone give me more info on this?

Refillable mugs - Do the two styles of mug hold the same amount of liquid?

Thanks - and sorry if these are repeated questions!

We never requested one but all the places I have read have said that you CAN request one :) Same thing is hair dryers!

We were just at POP two weeks ago and it was a coke and blue frozen drinks.

Refillable mugs - Do the two styles of mug hold the same amount of liquid?
At first they don't seem to but I opened up the bottom of the "big" shaped cup and the inside actually gets smaller towards the bottom of the cup. So yes I believe they do, though it's deceptive :)
Thanks - and sorry if these are repeated questions!

Coffee makers are NOT available at Value resorts.

Strangely enough, the smaller mug holds more, and fits into a car cup holder. The bigger one has more insulation though.

Thanks, Tyler - I read on another board (gasp!) that they were, but I'd never heard it anywhere before, so I wanted to check.

As for the capacity of the mugs - very interesting! Last year we bought the big ones at ASMo, but this year I'd rather have the ones that fit in the car, so I'm glad to hear they hold more!

Thanks !

Tyler can you tell me if there are chicken quesadilla's in at POP? They are my husbands absolute favorite and the main reason we keep going back to the Value resorts. He might make me change resorts if they don't have them. lol

I would love help from anyone with experience @ Pop or Tyler if he happens to notice this question.

The last time we were at Pop I wanted to write down the preferrable areas for our next trip and forgot. We would like the 70's section this time (king). On my room request I would like to "casually" mention sections of the building that would be closest to the Classic Hall. Can anyone help me out?

We haven't had the greatest luck with room request but I figure our luck has to change sometime right? We paid the extra fee for the 60's building at Easter break even though we couldn't get the AP rate. I was nutty enough to pay almost double the AP rate so we could get the 60's section. We ended up 2 rooms from the back of the building (hourglass lake). Not exactly what we were hoping for.

Our last trip we asked for the 50's building so we might get a chance at seeing the fireworks. Well, that didn't work out either. We did manage to see them standing infront of someone elses door though.

Thanks in advance ~ everyone have a funtastic day!!

EDITED. I created a floor map for Pop Century. Tyler could you check it please?

PopCenturyRoomLayout.jpg

Select building "B" or "0xxx" which is the tenth building I believe. I created this room layout. Selecting room numbers xx49-xx72 should get you closest to Classic Hall.

If you want ground level use 0149 through 0172

thanks ChairborneRangr for the quick reply! I will get my letter ready to fax :bounce: :Pinkbounc

That map is nearly identical to the ones we use at Pop. If you want to add connecting rooms, they are the same in every building and floor. Connecting rooms are the 6 rooms closest to the center in each wing (not counting the first room.) So, 02 will connect to 03, etc.

for different types of info. now i'm hoping to find information about corner rooms, king rooms (locations), noise levels near stairs and elevators.

if no way to search, can i get some info where king rooms are in the 70's section. i want an upper floor lakeview most of all. i'm traveling alone, so that's most important to me.

thanks.

We are arriving at the pop on sept. 7th-15th but I am starting to think that we might be majorly screwed because of the hurricaine. We would just have to move the date out in a worse case scenario. Any new info on Hurricane Frances?

Question for someone who has been there...

We changed our ressies to POP Dec 18-23...could someone tell me the best rooms for the connecting rooms? Would ground floor be better...would hate to drag all 6 of us up three flights of stairs.

That map is awesome! Is anyone able to point out where king rooms would be or is it different depending on floor and building location? Thanks a bunch!!

There are elevators in every building.

And how many King rooms are there... per building or all together? In other words, what are the chances? When we were there in January, we were lucky enough to get one in the 70's building, ground floor near the center. Now that we have been there, we are not nearly as particular, because there are many great places there and nothing is really far from where you want to be anyway (have you stayed at CBR?). We are really hoping for a King room, though, again. It's just the 2 of us and we could make do with sleeping in separate beds, but we're used to a King bed and sleeping together in a double bed is not our idea of a vacation! ;)

Tyler,

Thanks for the info. Do you work at POP or you a driver?

Would like to find you and say thanks in person!

Half the buildings will have 6 standard kings, 2 on each floor 1-3.
The other half will have 24 disability accessible kings, 6 on each floor 1-4. Some of these will have a roll in shower (no tub).
