First timer question (I don't know if this should go here or not but...)

I bought the "dream maker" package on the Disney Visa 7 for 4 deal. We are staying at POP Century.

My question is: How (or when) will we get our tickets? (UPH) Do we get them at check-in from POP? The trip must be prepaid on the Disney Visa before arrival. Do I need to bring my reservation confermation? My Disney Visa bill?

Sorry, but I've never done this before so I don't know how this works.

thanks

We just got back (3/27) from a Visa Kids Free deal that was also a Dream Maker package. Our room keys were the UPHs and also our charge cards. The only thing they sent us ahead of time were the luggage tags. The UPHs and dream maker coupons for lanyards & other options were given to us upon check in.

I took my confirmation package with me. It was a grey (or blue) folder that the luggage tags came in. There are little slips of paper inside this folder with your reservations on it. I don't think I had to show anyone this, but it is definitely proof of your reservations.

You're going to LOVE Pop Century!

Have fun!

Sorry for butting in, but ... yes, they do have a Pop Century pin! They are too cute, too. They were out of them the day we arrived, but had more in stock by week's end. I've just seen the one version of them. I think it was around $6.50.

Hi!

I'm curious about the wall safes....approx how deep are they? I'd love to take my camcorder but don't want to carry it for 7 days straight.

Would a 6 x 8 x 5" camcorder fit in the wall safe?

thanks!

The wall safes are only 2" deep, give or take.

I will measure our camera tomorrow! I put it in the wall safe one day when it was rainy and it just fit!

I'll get it out and post it's size in the morning!

Question for Tyler......I just made my reservations for Aug. 21-28 at Pop!!!! Sooo Excited...I requested a Preferred Room with Disney Reservations...

Is this a specific building? Also....I have heard you can see some of the Epcot fireworks from this resort...is one area better than others????

thanks!!!!!

Just returned from a fantastic stay at Pop Century Resort! Our boys ages 2 1/2 and 4 1/2 loved everything about the resort. I agree with an earlier post that Mr. & Mrs. PotatoHead are a must see! We stayed at Pop for 7 days (monday - monday) and found the service to be excellent. Check in was quick at 9:30pm and check out was easy. Didn't even have to go to front desk.

We stayed in the 80's building by the computer pool. The walk to the bus and the main building was just a few min. of course they seemed longer when carrying two tired children but it was very manageable. We enjoyed the Hippy Dippy Pool with the water spray over the others. The icons around the resort were a big hit and we took many pictures.

The food court was good. Many choices for kids and adults. We only at there a few times but what we had was all good. DH went down each morning for coffee and drinks for us so the purchase of the refillable mugs proved to be a money saver.

We had a grocery stop on our way to the hotel because we used Quick Silver TownCar service - We would highly recomend them! The 30 min. stop is included in the cost of $90.00 round trip.

This is the first trip to Disney in March. We have always gone in May before and with the boys so young decided to go when it was cooler. As far as the crowds - we thought it was more crowed in May of last year than last week. We had no problems with transportation. The wait times for the busses were normal not unreasonable.

Just to repeat myself - we had a great time staying at Pop Century and the parks were wonderful. If you have any questions I could help you with feel free to ask! I could write more but I have to go pick up our pictures to recreate our trip.

glad you had a fabulous time! I've got ressies in the 60 buildings with the Hippy Dippy Pool and I'd love details of this pool. What makes it more special (if anything) than the bowling pin pool that looks bigger? You mentioned sprays... was that at the Hippy Dippy? Please let me know, because we booked preferred to be in front of the main pool/food court and I want to make sure it is worth it.

Thanks!

Thanks Tyler,

Yes it was the American Express Package Deal that I received the white glove treatment from. I will be using my American Express again so I guess officially i won't get the white glove treatment package but I'm sure you'll give me the white glove treatment anyway -

I just measured our camera and it is only about 2 7/8" thick by 7"wide and 5 1/2" tall.

The dimension that was tight was the width of 2 7/8' so if you camera is any wider than that is will not fit. From your description above yours is wider than that. Sorry!

Are there any safes at the main desk? I have never heard anyone say but you might ask Tyler!

Anyone else going June 6th to the 13th? My DH, and 3 children will be there. Our first time to Disney! This forum has been a big help in planning, and I hope that Tyler will still be there. He seems to be Pop's celebrity!

That's a great time to go. We went that exact week last year (9th-16th).

Crowds were manageable, temps weren't too hot, and it only rained a couple of days. If this is your first time, definately check out my first-timers links. I really enjoy taking new people to the world.

Diamond_Girls.....

The Hippy Dippy pool was shaped like a flower and was 3feet 6 inches around the edge and 5 feet in the middle. The kiddie pool was right behind it in the courtyard of the 60's buildings. The Kiddie pool was a round area about 1 foot to 1 1/2 feet deep. It had water shooting up out of yellow balls around the edge. This showered the kids that were in the pool. I can't really comment on the bowling pin pool because I didn't pay close attention to that one. We were by the computer pool which was nice but we enjoyed the Hippy Dippy and Kiddie pool. Just to the left of the main building are pop jets the kids could run through with Goofy and his Car to hang out by. It's under a min. walk away from the Hippy Dippy Pool. The kids really enjoyed this area too.

Hope this information helps in your decision making and planning. I think planning a Disney vacation is half the fun! Any more questions just ask.

Yes, you can use your room key as a debit card. When you check in, you give them a debit or credit card and any charges are made against your card when it reaches a certain amount ($500) or at checkout. We liked it because it means you don't have to carry as much cash around. Also, thanks to better technology, even a lot of the food kiosks can take your card, too. Last year they weren't set up to take the card at icecream stands, etc. I'm not sure if you can back your room charges with cash or traveler's checks. Maybe Tyler can answer that one.

Your room key is only your 'ticket' to the parks if you purchased tickets at the resort. Our UPHs were on ours. I'm not sure if regular Park Hoppers are put on room keys or if they give you a separate card like they do when you purchase them directly from Disney (Disney Store, disneyworld.com, etc.)

Hope this helped. Maybe others can add their two cents, too.

I hope your trip is wonderful!

Your 'Keys to the World' can include your Room Key, Park Tickets, and Room Charge all on one plastic credit card type card. For charging privledges, you need to either put down a credit card, debit card that works as a credit card, or you can also use cash, disney dollars, or travellers cheques for a debit system.

Thanks to wireless technology, many carts and kiosks now accept the room charge as well as credit cards.

Hey Tyler,

I would like to call in and request a room on ground level near the pool - noisy is ok - Im not going for tranquility. My question is - which building/area/pool is the spot you would recommend?

Thanks!!
