Well... *sniff sniff* today was my last day at Pop. I'm going to miss all the people I met there... and all the wonderful guests (like y'all) that I met while I was there.

13.5 hours to go, and I'll be behind the wheel again. BEEP BEEP!

We, personally, have requested the 70's section. From what we heard it's pretty close to everything and you don't have to pay the extra $20 (?) a night for the preferred 60's section but it's right next to it. Have a great time! Let us know how it goes because we are headed there in September :)

I'd say request anything but the 80'/90s. We spent the first night in the 90s and hated it. The rest of the time we were in 70s and loved it. 50s wouldn't be bad either. I wouldn't want to pay an extra 10 dollars for the 60's, though.

we requested the 50's 'cause my kids loved the pics of the bowling pin pool! LOL!

tyler... best wishes and safe driving! hopefully i'll board your bus when i'm back in the world... and i will always remember your sage advice... only trust those wearing PURPLE PANTS! :)

Wow, I just saw this! Congrats Tyler and thanks so much for all of your time and energy that you put into this thread! Your thread and pictures in the beginning is what sealed our plans on booking at Pop Century. Best of luck to you in your schooling and further Disney advancements. They would be a fool to not see what a great employee you are and how loyal you are to their company. In today's business world that type of loyalty is rare. Keep those guests moving!!!

Tyler-How does it feel to be back in the purple pants? What route are you driving?I bet all of your riders today had a great, fun ride.CONGRATULATIONS!:earsboy:

Well I took in your reccomendations for room areas, etc.. thanks to all of you! I'm getting more excited every hour, lol.

Well Tyler, it's August 1st. Hope you're getting used to being in back of the wheel again.

If Pop has a CM of the month plaque on the wall, how many times was your name or picture there in the last nine months?

Good luck again.

I don't want this thread dying just as my family is about to take a trip to POP, lol!

We POP fans won't let that happen! Bet you're getting excited - you're doing the single digit dance!! Have you started packing?! DD(10) and I stayed at POP in January. Fun!! We were just back at WDW 3 weeks ago - didn't stay at POP, but we had to go visit it during our stay!! We stayed in the 60's (preferred) and loved our room and location, but I agree with many other posters who have said the 50's and 70's buildings are just as convenient - without the $10 extra charge!!

Have a great trip! Are you driving or flying? (BTW, I'm originally from Bergenfield!)

Hey,

We are flying to Orlando! Sadly I had an AMAZING rate of $405 rountrip on SONG a week ago, but the parents decided to delay booking airfare and we ended up paying $600 with no stops last night on Spirit!!!! :( :( :( :( :( :( :( . What can you do though, now they know to trust their deal grabber son.

Are you flying out of Newark? $405 - that was the total, not per ticket right???? I don't know anything about SONG or Spirit, but be thankful you have a direct flight. I refuse to book flights with stops any more -- too many problems with delays and such. Have a safe flight and a great time at POP. Spend some time in the lobby checking out all the memorabilia on the wall. And if you or anyone in your family tries the cheesecake at the food court, let me know what you all think! (I didn't try it when we were there and I'm curious! Being from Bergen County, you would know what "good" cheesecake is!)

Laura

I don't know if you read the PM I sent your or not, but we are form Dumont!! Have you been back to Bergenfield anytime recently?

The $405 was for 3 tickets roundtrip on SONG from LGA - MCO!!!!

Last year we had a stop in Atlanta and because of a delay at LGA, we arrived late, missed out connecting flight! Then finally 3 hours later we get on a flight and some of our luggage DID NOT! We were at MCO until 12am after arriving at 9:30pm, with our towncar driver waiting alongside us at guest relations. The next day they delivered the three bags , each of which were my dads.

BOOOO to connecting flights, lol.

Haven't been back in several years - hope to get north again soon! $405 really was a great rate; I agree, your parents should listen to you more!! Stopping in Atlanta (Atlanta Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport!) is NEVER fun! I don't think I've ever gotten off the ground on time -- usually find ourselves stacked up in a long line waiting for take-off.

I will check my PMs - I'm not very good about doing that! Have a great trip and don't forget about that cheesecake! (it's tie-dye!)

Hey hey hey!!! This ain't no travel board.
You'll have to take this discution somewhere else.

Just kiddin'

OK all you POP fans out there, I need your help!! I know the answer to this question is probabally in the 120+ pages but I would appreciate the saved time. We are going in Sept for 3 nights. There are 16 of us and we are requesting to be put together with the Grand Gathering.

What building should we request? I've read about the 50s building being one of the best. Is this true? Any other favorites?

Also when we went last year and stayed at ASMo. We got great advice on shortcuts to trasportation from the Toy Story building. Are there any short cuts at POP?

TIA
Denise

How about the 80's? There are three of us girls going Sept 3 to 8th and Mickey Mac suggested the 80's because of the quiet pool.

The closest building to the transportation is the 70s B building. We stayed there for 3 nights early last month and I loved the location. There was no pool in the court between the buildings, but there was a giagantic foos ball table there as well and the giant Mickey Phone and they played 70s music. My son was laughing because we have one of those Mickey Phones in our guest room. That 70s building was also very close to Everything Pop and well as the transportation. The 50s looked nice, it has it's own pool and is pretty close to the main building as well. We also stayed in the 90s building for 3 nights and it was nice because we were very close to the Computer Pool. The 90's building probably has the longest walk along with one of the 80s buildings to the Everything Pop.

I enjoyed both locations and would be happy in either of them. I think I liked the 70s more because of it's location and also because I remember that era as a young kid and it was fun to walk around it. The only downside of the 70s that I saw was the "70's Parking lot" got pretty full by 9 or 10pm. Two nights I had to park on the other side of the 80s in the furthest sections, but it still wasn't too bad of a walk and the grounds are so nice to stroll though.

In July, we (group of 8) stayed in the 70's, Building B, 4th floor. Our rooms faced Hourglass Lake. It was just beautiful, very quiet and tranquil. I faxed in our room requests 4 days before check in. We got everything we asked for.

Shortcuts to the buses are easy to find. On our first day we took some time to explore the grounds and found the shortcuts easily.

IMO the 70's is the best building to stay in w/o having to pay the extra $10 for the 60's. It is close to everything. We usually visited the Hippy Dippy pool in the 60's, however, the computer pool in the 80's is also close by and more quiet. It is a long trek to refill your cups though. You will have a great time, wherever you decide to stay on this property. It's just a wonderful resort.
