Today is my last day of:teacher:, so tomorrow I can finally start packing:cool1:

I hope someone knows if they actually sell Caribou coffee there. I like that so much better than nescafe. I assume it's sold cold in bottles maybe? :)

May not even be spelling it correctly..... But - what's in it and is it good and strong!??

I am not sure of the specific ingredients, but it is a drink served in a hallowed out pineapple. Yes, it is good and strong. I had just one and I was feeling fine. I stopped at just one but met a couple at the bar who were finishing off their 4th :scared1: They were lit like a firework filled sky! I chatted with them for a bit and found out they were on their honeymoon! I offered to buy them another round but they declined...:lmao: They were making me giggle when I watched them get up from the bar to leave...I think it really hit them then. I am sure they were filling it the next day

Proceed with caution but if you like to enjoy a cocktail in a tropical setting...the Lapu Lapu is the perfect drink.

To everyone heading to the poly "Have a wonderful trip!" We were there May 27-June2nd and are still having post vacation depression:(. But we decided today we are going back in May and hoping to do a split stay with AKL because my DS8 has really been wanting to try it out. I was thinking 3 nights AKL and 5 nights poly. Never done a split stay before, or stayed at AKL. But I do know that I want to end my trip at the poly!!! Also, some advice on a split stay or where to go to look for some would be great. Have a magical evening!:goodvibes

We're staying POLY CL for the last two nights of our trip next week. I'm reading scary things on the main resort thread. Can anybody reassure me that we aren't going to be dealing with lots of mold or dirty rooms?

Every once in a while you read some not so great reviews about the Poly or even other resorts...please don't let them make you nervous. It is not that they don't have legitimate complaints, but everyone has differing perspectives. Bottom line, if you encounter a dirty room, or not so nice CM, talk to management WHILE YOU ARE THERE. They cannot try and correct a problem that they are not aware of.

Go on your vacation with an open mind and ENJOY yourself! I personally don't sweat the small stuff, especially on vacation. :goodvibes

I don't know what thread is dissing my Poly, but I can tell you I was just there the last week in April, and I stayed CL garden view. Our room was clean, we always had lots of towels, and we had a towel animal every day. Everything was perfect except the showerhead spray is not very strong, and we had noisy neighbors that woke us up nightly, but besides that, our trip was heavenly! You will have an amazing time at the Poly...I am counting down the days until we stay again :)

When my family and I stayed Club Level in December 2007 we had no problems with our room. The only issue we had is that a light was not working in our bathroom, however all they needed to do was to fix it.

I was just about to post the same thing! :rotfl:
I can't believe (or don't want to believe) that all of the bathrooms at Poly are moldy and there's dirt and grunge everywhere! Any more reassurance from those who are currently there or have recently returned? :scared:

I agree with you lissiesmum!!!:thumbsup2 I'm a huge poly fan! And not to worry maiapapaya!! I was there for a weeks stay 3 weeks ago and no problems whatsoever!! I also stayed there in May '08 and never had a problem. Maybe I've just been lucky?:confused3 You're vacation will be what you make of it. If you have a dirty room or moldy room contact management immediately and have it fixed. Squelch the problem right away so you don't have to worry when you should be relaxing and having a good time. As I said, we had no problems. Room cleaned daily, plenty of toiletries and clean towels, no dust, no mold. Relax, it's going to be fine. You're going to WDW!!!

I'm getting worried too! I may call the Swan to see if there are rooms available with my teacher discount. I think I should stop reading these threads!

Stop worrying! No, repeat .. NO ... resort/hotel/motel/rented home, etc. is going to be perfect! Some may expect them to be but "it ain't gonna happen"! Possibly some expect more than I do but I've never had a problem with any Disney (or other) room that I (a) couldn't live with {believe it or not .. my home is not perfect either!:sad2:} or (b) wasn't fixed when I requested that it be:thumbsup2. I'm just always so thankful to be at Walt Disney World, no matter where I'm staying, I just tend to chill out and enjoy my vacation!

No:scared1:Not the Swan. :scared1:Surely you have heard about that place.:scared:

Just kidding. If you read ANY boards you are going to find something bad about any resort. We can't wait for our first stay at the Poly. GVCL Aug 1 - Aug 8th.

I stayed Poly LVCL just last Oct., and our room was perfect :). It looks like we'll be staying at the same time next week:goodvibes. If you see a petite brunette with a teenage girl in the CL, that's us :)

AKL/Poly is a great split. We've done it at least twice :cloud9: Plan your park touring around where you'll be (obviously, save MK for when you're at Poly, visit AK while staying at AKL) and I like to pack 2 different bags, one for each resort, with essentials in a smaller bag. WDW will transport your luggage for you, although I usually do it myself. You shouldn't have any problems, except that moving day you could be "room-less" for a few hours.

I can offer MY Poly experience. Stayed LVCL in July/August 2008 and then GV (Niue) in March 2009. Both stays were fabulous and our rooms were in great shape. Love the room decor, love the atmosphere, gorgeous grounds, love the friendly CMs.
Have a wonderful time! :wizard:

I'm feeling much better this morning! Thanks everyone for your reassurance - I knew you would calm my fears! :thumbsup2

ME TOO!!!:cool1: I am in no way belittling other guests negative experiences(especially the mold), but truthfully, if we refused to book a stay at a resort because it had a few bad reviews, I guess we'd be staying home. :rotfl: Looking forward to our few days at the POLY!!!:cheer2:

We were in Tolelau room #2910 May 12 - 19th. Our room was clean with not a trace of mold. I would have noticed right away if there was any mold or mildew because I am allergic to mold.

I do know that Orlando got record breaking rain beginning on May 18th. That could have caused problems in some rooms. But, as previous posters suggested, report any problems you might find immediately. No one can fix a problem that is not brought to their attention.
