I think I was there when you were! I was downstairs by the Concierge when they got a call about the "guest" without a club level card - baby lizard. LOL.....

Glad you liked it so much. We love it. Actually bought DVC this trip, but POLY will still be on our trip agenda every once in awhile. there's nothing like it!!!!

I heard they brought him downstairs to show the concierge staff. I honestly think he and I surprised each other enough when we met the 1st time so I was okay not seeing him again

We were pretty close to buying DVC ourselves... which did you buy?

The Electrical Water Pagent is at 9:00 p.m. each night. I'm not sure about the deal/discounts though, sorry.

Thanks for the info Polynesianlily! I am glad the EWP is still at nine When I was there in April, it was on the same time as the fireworks and you didn't get to hear the quirky EWP music...I guess they don't play it because they are piping in the music from Wishes! It will be nice to enjoy Wishes at eight; then we can swim(?)(too cold in Feb for nighttime swims???) or relax on the beach, and wait for the EWP to arrive and hear it in its full glory

Me....I'm bummed about about no espresso in the lounge. Guess I will be running to Kona coffee bar every day.

Yes, they do not play the Electrical Water Pagent music when Wishes is going on. That's what was happening when we were in WDW last december.

Love hearing the Electrical Water Pagent music so relaxing.

They had Nescafe espresso. It was ok, not as good as Nespresso (awesome, REAL espresso) but fine. I would have enjoyed the Kona coffee much more, but I'm not so much of a coffee drinker that I HAD to have it and getting us all out the door took so looooong in the AM that I don't think I could've handled another stop.

If we'd done that you would've then seen a thread about the crazy lady at the Poly yelling every day at her family about rope drop.

They had whole apples, oranges and bananas. The fruit in the morning was a cantaloupe/honeydew/grape mix. Again, not horrible, but we had separate grapes, watermelon, berries, and pineapple at the AKL CL. Which worked better for me as I don't eat honeydew or cantaloupe. AKL also had 1 or 2 more pastry choices and hot cereal so breakfast definitely felt like a downgrade at the Poly.

Now it was pretty cool to eat breakfast and see the castle...

When we stayed at the Poly CL in 2002 for our honeymoon the lounge had oatmeal at breakfast and plastic water bottles for on the go.

those are 2 sorely missed items.

Do they sell pineapple at Capt. Cooks? I promised her and I will never hear the end of it.

I guess I will give the coffee a shot and if not I am an earlier riser than the rest so I will make the needed trip to Kona for my fix.

Glad I'm not the only one who is always pushing my family to get ready and make rope drop. My DH is just a very slow mover in the am.

They do sometimes sell pineapple chunks/pieces at Captain Cook's. Look in the refrigerated section and they have a small selection of fruits in containers. I know that I have seen the pineapple there before.

Definitely saw the pineapple at Cap'n Cooks a few weeks ago. Can't remember how much it was but I don't think it should be much more than $3.00.

Other than pastries and bagels dry cereals, and the fruit that you mentioned, is there anything else offered for breakfast...like yogurt?

Also, if you don't mind all the questions, what kinds of white wine are offered? Is it only between 5 and 7 for the wine or beer?

I think they had yoplait yogurt. Flavored only, no plain.
As for wine - I didn't pay much attention to this (REALLY liked the special "adult" punch) but I think the white was a was a Chardonnay. I know the red was a Merlot (tasted nice in the punch).

The beer and wine are out during dessert as well. I think you might even be able to request it at other times (saw some folks doing this for the beer).

I've heard the water bottles used in the club are glass. Do they let you take the water bottles out of the Club into your room? Anyone empty these water bottles into a plastic bottle or kids sippee cup and take it out?

Yes, the water bottles are large glass bottles of Evian. If you ask one of the CMs they will give you one to take back to your room They also have chocolate milk back there that they don't put out

They also had pineapple in the refrigerated case at CC when we were there in May. I think we were allowed to choose that as a dessert on the DDP. Either that or we got it using a snack credit. I know that we did not pay out of pocket.

You can request beer and wine any time you want some. They had Chardonnay, merlot, and a rose, I think. The adult punch was nice too.

Okay I know my trip is a long time yet, but I am so excited! Tomorrow I am going to pay the deposit on our GVCL stay for Dec 2010. It makes it seem more real to me.
