OK friends...so much for my day off from work. I have been on the phone and internet all day! We are finally set for our next visit to the Poly. The airline tickets are purchased so there is no going back now....I hope :lmao: We are staying GVCL and actually got a great rate which is a bonus. :thumbsup2

So we decided Halloween at Disney this year. Now we are not past the ADR date...it gives us an extra month of planning and I get to go back to Disney this year! :cool1:

I initially had it all booked a week and then I realized that the Miley Cyrus concert was smack in the middle of the trip! Thank goodness I did not book the airfare yet when I realized it! I could not have even sold the concert tickets because they have this new paperless ticket thing that I have to show my cc and ID to get in.

So, everything is set. We are leaving the day after the concert. I figure it will be a nice way to kick off our trip!

Is your head spinning like mine. I even changed my ticker for good! Anyone else going to be during that time?

How did you get a great rate on CL?

Can someone tell me what the likelyhood would be of being able to eat bkfst or lunch at Kona without a reservation? We're staying there in early Decmeber and just wonder if we decide one morning or afternoon to eat there if it's a possibility. Even if we have to wait - I figure we can just wait in our room and go back. haha Is this an option at bkfst and lunch or are they just as booked up as they are at dinner?

I am not sure what your chances would be like, however I don't think you can wait in your room because the pagers won't work there. Whenever my family and I have gone to Chef Mickey's, Concourse Steakhouse, Ohana and Boma, we were told the guest rooms was one location they would not work if we were staying at that specific resort.

Only 6 more sleeps until we fly to Orlando and our first (but way too short) Poly stay!! We originally booked the Dolphin then cancelled when the summer rates came out. We were actually choosing between BC and Poly and since DH is not quite a Disney lover like I am, the resort was his choice. I was totally thrilled when he picked the Poly--I always wanted to stay there!!

I have walked up at all 3 meals over the years and been worked in. But as CR Fan pointed out, the pagers won't work in your room. They only work in the lobby area - possibly even only upstairs (can't remember!) Even during Spring Break we walked up for breakfast and were worked in and dinner, we may have waited 10-15 min. but that was it.

AWESOME! Great choice. You will both love the Polynesian :cloud9:

My DW and I will staying at the Poly CL for the first time in the end of August!! I am so excited!! Has anyone tried the Pin Colada's at Tambu Lounge? They are the best I have ever had!!

I will be at the Poly tomorrow!!!! I'm staying GVCL. This is my first time staying at a disney deluxe resort so i am really excited. :cool1:

You will LOVE it. Just got back Sunday....we were in Room 1520...had a big tree sort of blocking half our view but it was still nice just being there.

We walked right up to Kona for breakfast last Sunday without any problems or a wait....I think you will be okay with that, dinner didn't seem bad there either...maybe 15 minute wait.

Are you talking about the Luap Luaps? We had our first (well, actually 3 of them) last week and they were yuuuummmmyyyy....

Thanks for the reply. I have dying to know. Do you remember if Stitch is still on them? I a hoping not, lol.popcorn::

My dh just got a tshirt from the Bountique at the Poly and it was very nice and said Polynesian but no Stitch or anything. I was a little disappointed that they didn't have any "poly" clothing for boys though. I bought a shirt there for my oldest 3 years ago and it said Poly in the front and had the characters on the back. I wanted to get another one for my youngest but they had nothing.

How did you get a great rate on CL?

I finally got a pin code for 40% off. We had booked for free dining but I still was not too happy about paying rack rate for CL even with free dining. But now that I got the PIN we are off and running! We opted not to add the dining plan as we never seem to use all the credits anyway and with the lounge offerings, I don't see needing the DDP.

There is also a TA through the Tiki site that runs some great deals if your dates are flexible. Some room only rates are up to 50% off rack rate.

Thanks for the info....

We are staying GVCL in October thanks to a pin code I received it by email. It was for 40% off, so we jumped on it.:cloud9:

Have a wonderful time! We stayed LVCL in April with the 4/3 deal and had a wonderful time there. 40% off is awesome!

Congrats on the PIN! While I loved our stay at CL at the Poly, I wouldn't pay rack rate for it, either, even with the free dining. And honestly, we would have thrown out so many dining credits on that trip -- even when we went out to dinner, we didn't order all that much since we were nibbling at the lounge all day...:rolleyes1

That was my thoughts exactly on the dining plan. DH loves going to Disney, hates the ADR system. He wants to go with the flow...not have to be somewhere to eat, especially if we are not hungry.

We have stayed twice with the DDP and have had trouble using up all the credits as it is. I am looking forward to the lounge offerings as well and frankly, DD eats PB&J and Goldfish crackers for lunch just about every day so she will do just fine with that. She was tired of the kids menu picks by the end of our last trip as well as all the restaruants seem to offer the same thing for kids.

I am really excited to stay club level this trip. :woohoo: Our one night experience there in December was so nice, an entire stay will be magical.:cloud9:
