I just found out about Ridemax software and was wondering what your views are on it. Is it a great tool for DW newbies that I should not go without (as some have told me) or am I just as well off to keep planning out my park visits myself?? Any and all input is welcomed!

I bought it- I generally use touring plans during the summer. So far I like playing around with it, haven't finalized plans yet though.

Thanks for the quick reply! Is this your first time with it? Would you say that it is betterthan just creating your own schedules?

Photos taken at Disney World have always been a major part of any of my visits. Capturing the memories of the sights, friends and family. If you feel the same as I do please join in and share.

Where was your favorite photo taken?

What kind of camera equipment do you own and take with you to the world.

Are you a casual photographer or a semi-pro?

Do you have any links you would like to share of some of your best works or special memories?

Any photography help or hints you would like to share with Team June?

I also feel the same way about my Disney photos, but regrettably, I've never really taken many with family members in them. This time will be different though...I may even branch out and do some video. :thumbsup2

My favourite photo was taken on the way from the bus stop to the entrance/bag check at the MK. It was the first night of our Christmas 2007 vacation, and we arrived much later than we were supposed to (delayed flights due to weather), but we were able to make it in time to go to MVMCP.

I own a Canon PowerShot A720, which is what I used to take the photo with. I'm only a casual photographer, so I don't really have any tips...other than have fun with your pictures!

Here's the photo I was talking about (which hasn't been edited in any way):

27 more teaching days until school is out! (I teach 11th and 12th grade science)

43 days until we leave for WDW!

I've never used Ridemax. But I used TGM for my last trip. I liked, but thought there was almost too much information. I am using Touring Plans this time around and I like it much better. Looking forward to using the "Lines" app while we're in the parks!

They have NOT upgraded the software since 2008? "NEW! On December 5th, 2008 we shipped a new version of RideMax for Walt Disney World. For details on ONLY the new features, please read our announcement for the new version of RideMax for Walt Disney World." That is a long time for software.

I have noticed a lot of people mentioning their FP runners. I know this may sound stupid but I want to make sure that I understand. Does one person rush ahead to a popular attraction to get fast passes for the rest of the family and then meet up with them at another attraction? Is this the norm? I was not planning on us seperating during the trip (or racing thousands of people to fast pass machines ;)),but it sounds like it may be best to do so. If the rest of the family line up for another attraction, is it okay for the FP runner to then join them in that queue?

I also have a question for my fellow June DISsers...when should I expect the second part of my Mickey Mail? Or is there a second part? I've already received my ME stuff...but no luggage tags (the 'fancy' ones). I thought I'd been reading that they send "Mickey Mail" in 2 parts now, but maybe I'm wrong on this...:confused3

I am not familiar with Touring Plans, but will look into it. Di you like it better with a progarm, then doing it on your own? Also...what does the "lines" app do??:confused3

Nothing we DIS'ers do is "the norm" :lmao: But yes, that's the idea. One person goes and gets FP for a ride that you'll do later while the others head towards something else. And it would be considered line cutting for the FP runner to join their family already in another line. Now, some people do it but that part is a hotly debated topic around here. When we have done the FP runner strategy (and we have only done it a few times) it was always while one of us was taking the kids to the bathroom, the other would go grab a set of FP.

My last trip was the first one that I used a plan, and even then it ended up being very loose. Once you get in the parks, especially if it's your first time, sticking to a regimented plan will start to feel forced IMO. I use the planning websites more as "educational material" than for an actual step-by-step sequence of rides. I know which rides are best in the mornings, which rides are best to FP and which ones you can save for the evenings. Outside of that, I just go with the flow. I use those sites primarily for the "best parks" features.

ETA: The Lines app from TP gives real time data of what the waits are for each attraction. So instead of walking all the way over to something just to find out the line is too long, you check the app and see if it's worth heading to or now.

Hi Guys! I keep seeing people post about receiving their Mickey mail already... when should I be receiving this? Also, what does it come with??

Thanks :wizard:

WOW I have a A720 too. I have a newer camera, but I always take my A720 because of the batteries being AA's. I also have a Canon T2i DSLR, but I only take it some days the the parks because of its size.

:thumbsup2 Thanks for the fast pass info. I will definitely change my planning strategy to include FP runners now!
