Couple of years ago during extra magic hours at DHS they had a DJ and dance party for kids. All the characters came out to dance. There was balloon animals and games. It was in the Disney Playhouse. Does anyone know if they still do this?? It was not an advertised attraction but my kids are asking if we can do this again.

And what is the show they have under the hat? Last time it was High School Musical themed.

I don't post much but have really enjoyed reading everyone's post when I can pop online. Thank-you all!

I've seen that they still do it, check this website, it lists the schedules of characters and special events in the parks.

Well, I'm pretty sure now its Disney Channel themed songs, because they did a Disney 365 on it a while ago (ah yes, we're one of the families that just loves Disney Channel)

Oh, 57 days! And forgot to mention, yesterday we got our first "Mickey Mail!" Nothing special, just that little booklet telling us what's new, but we still got really excited!

I think it's more Disney Jr. themed. As long as characters are there, I'm sure my tweens will have fun.

7) What is the best souvenir you have ever gotten from Disney? My camera bag that I've used for years. It holds up very well.

8) Do you book standard rooms or go for "the views"? Standard. We're not much for the views. Though I don't mind a free upgrade, and did enjoy our MK view at Contemporary! I usually pay for preferred at values, though, for the location.

9) Have you ever gotten a towel animal? If yes, what was your favorite and where did you stay? Yes, many. Not a towel animal, but I love when they set up the stuffed animals with the remote watching TV.

10) What is your favorite character meal and why? I would say 1900 Park Fare breakfast, and I love the Mad Hatter. Also, Garden Grill is underrated and overlooked and has a really good character meal.

6) Do you plan your park days based on EMH? If so, do you avoid them or go to them? Alot of the times, we do not, but we do not try to avoid them either. I prefer the evening EMH as opposed to the AM ones.

7) What is the best souvenir you have ever gotten from Disney? Believe it or not a T-shirt that I am wearing right now. Also the pictures hold a special space in my heart.

8) Do you book standard rooms or go for "the views"? We go for the standard, because the plan is not to be in there. However, now that we are DVC'ers we have gotten a "view" the times we have gone. Not really intentional, just what they had available.

8) Do you book standard rooms or go for "the views"? The views at AKL, though we learned WL it doesn't matter. Its our only real vacation, we want to see something nice outside our window!

At both WL and AKL, and our favorite was the elephant, and we had two different ones, but unfortunately, the cat decided one needed to go, so he knocked it over, disassembling it (nothing held it together!)

Just finished reading all the responses! I am really enjoying all the different input from simple questions, some of these things have really given me food for thought!

1) What resort have you stayed at the most?Pop Century and AKL are tied!

2) What would be your Disney dream job (character, ride operator, imagineer, etc)?I would like them to bring back the Dream maker job and let that be my full time job!

3) When you think of Disney World, what is the first thing that comes to mind?The smell of popcorn and marigolds!

I've toured solo although traveled with one other person. Usually by day 3 we need a break to do things our own way. She's my BFF, but we're very different!

Yes. So far, since my window opened I've made approximately 8 completely different sets of ADR's. I'm usually holding a lunch and dinner for each day and I add and drop as I get better times. I am now completely finished with the *perfect* set of ADR's for our upcoming trip, but I can feel the itch to try and change something, anything!
6) Do you plan your park days based on EMH? If so, do you avoid them or go to them?We always make one MK morning EMH. And we utilize a lot of evening EMH.

Our favorite was an entire playground built on top of our bed. slides, swings, swimming pool and teeter totter complete with the kids stuffed animals playing on them. This was at Shades of Green.

Well today has been a great day!!!! I got my Mickey Mail!!! The new luggage tags make my eyes hurt to look at them, but I am still excited!!

Not only that, but it's also Prom night here and my DD has been getting ready since 8:00 this morning. We started taking pictures at 2 and finished at 5. Whew, I just need a glass of wine & the Dis to relax me from this crazy day.
