I found this list surfing the internet today and it made me think. What is my list of top ten worst restaurants in Disney World. If you had a list what restaurants would be on your list?

Disney Top 10 Worst Disney World Restaurants

http://www.disneytop10.com/disney-t...rld-restaurants/comment-page-1/#comment-11252

With the sheer number of restaurants at WDW, there are bound to be some stinkers in the lot. For the most part, the food is very good, if not great at a few of the upper end places. The 10 listed below, however, are the bottom 10. Many of the counter service places received a pass from me, they are what they are, fast food, and shouldn’t be rated poorly. The ones listed below are just not up to what they should be, and are to be avoided at all costs.

#10: Liberty Inn – Epcot – Ha, fast food! While Liberty Inn is servicable as counter service restaurants, and is actually very nice inside with great seating areas, it still make the list. Granted, when people from around the world think of America, they think fast food, McDonalds, hamburgers, fatties. Does Disney really need to enforce that stereotype? Build a dang nice table service restaurant, it will be packed.
#9: Planet Hollywood – Downtown Disney – Overpriced food surrounded by memorabilia from people no one cares about makes for a bad meal. Despite offering coupons to just about every Disney World visitor, Planet Hollywood is almost always dead, and I foresee a “for rent” sign on the big round eyesore of Downtown Disney.
#8: Rainforest Cafe – Downtown Disney & Animal Kingdom Park – Rainforest is another themed chain with locations at WDW. While the restaurants are busy, the food is expensive and not all that good. The question is, do I really want to eat at a place while at WDW that I can visit at my local mall? I dig the waterfall at the Animal Kingdom location, but there are much better options within a few feet at either location.
#7: California Grill – Contemporary Resort – Long touted as the “crown jewel” of Disney World restaurants, all I hear lately is complaints about the service and food. Granted, the view is to die for, especially during fireworks. Everything else, blah! I have eaten here three times in the last year or so, each visit has either had horrible food or horrible service, or both. Very expensive, but remember, you are paying for the view, don’t expect much else.
#6: Pizzafari – Animal Kingdom Park – Nothing says Africa like Pizza. Rarely open, and that is a good thing. The cool building doesn’t even come close to making up for the poor food. Much better options throughout the park.
#5: Sci-Fi Dine In – Hollywood Studios Park – Where to start. Counter service food (at best) at table service prices. Looping movie that is technically trailers of bad 50′s monster movies that loops every 40 minutes or so, so you get to see it 2 or 3 times during your meal. Just imagine if you worked there and had to see the loop 15 times each shift, I would pull out my hair. Really fun concept (the cars are cool), just poorly done. Stop by for a shake and fried in the afternoon, you will thank me.
#4: Coral Reef – Epcot Park – So much promise, such bad food. The wall looking onto the giant aquarium is cool, but this is the one place that epitomizes the down side of the dining plan. An expensive restaurant, always crowded with dining plan users, why both service good food? They don’t bother.
#3: Tony’s Town Square Restaurant – Magic Kingdom Park – A stretch to call this place Italian. Poor decor, overly loud, it feels like you are eating in an elementary school lunchatorium. I could get by all of this if it weren’t for the food, which is disastrous, to be nice. Strait from the can spaghettios would be more Italian, and better tasting. Eating here, you just get the feeling they are trying to feed you as cheaply and quickly as possible.
#2: Comtempo Cafe – Contemporary Resort – Ok, so a few counter service places made the list. Located right under the monorail (loud) and next to Chef Mickey’s (even louder), this poor excuse from a restaurant offers appalling food, obviously made off site and trucked in, along with no atmosphere and plenty of noise.
#1: San Angel Inn – Epcot Park – Without a doubt, one of the best located restaurants, especially if you can get a table along the waterway of the Grand Fiesta Tour. Romantic as you can imagine. And dark, which is a good thing, as you can’t see the food. San Angel Inn has nothing on Taco Bell when it comes to bland, Americanized Mexican food. Now, I am from the West, where good Mexican restaurants are a dime a dozen, and maybe in Orlando, that might not be the case, but that doesn’t mean you have to consume their poor excuse for food and accept it as “authentic”. With all the wonderful options in the World Showcase, go somewhere else, and stop by La Cava del Tequilla for a better experience.

eeekkkkk! I'm terrified just looking at the list because some of the places we really want to try are on that list..Coral Reef & Sci-Fi some of them. I'm really nervous. This is our first trip so maybe that will help & we won't know if it's good or not!:confused3

It makes me a little nervous too, but just remember that there are many factors that can lead to someone having a sub-par experience at a restaurant. Last time I ate at the Coral Reef (April 08) it was fantastic. By far the best fish I've ever had (and I live in an area where fish is our specialty). Maybe they were just having an "on" day, who knows? I liked it so much I'm going back in May, so hopefully I'll get another good experience.

I went to the Sci-Fi on that same trip in 08, and while I did enjoy the overall experience, I'm glad I was on the dining plan. I thought the atmosphere was awesome...I didn't mind watching the video loop, and the restaurant was surprisingly quiet. Even though in the cars you can only have 2 people per row (facing forward), we were still able to carry on a conversation with the rest of our traveling party. The food was good, not excellent or out-of-this-world, but I was satisfied. If I were paying OOP for the meal I may have been slightly disappointed at the pricing and the menu options. We had an awesome server though, so that also helped to add to the experience.

Hopefully the bad reviews don't scare you off too much, and enjoy your trip! :thumbsup2

You should take this list with a "grain of salt". We love California Grill, Coral Reef and Sci-Fi Dine In (not for the food, but the fun!).

It's tough when you read awful reviews about a place. But like people say those who have a bad experience are the one's who will usually post compared to the one's who had a good time. I've read awful reviews about Chef Mickey's but we're still going. I can't imagine it being that bad if it's still such a popular place. Thanks for the good vibes! :goodvibes

What do the "key to the world" cards look like? Anyone have a picture? Is it similar to a credit card? We've been on a cruise & they give you similar cards so wondering if it's the same thing? I have a few lanyards & was thinking of using it for our cards. Or what else could I use so they don't get lost?

Thank you so much!!! Team "June" rocks!!!

How cool!! I printed this off and am putting it on the back side of my Alien Green Mickey head - which I am laminating and it will hang from my bag!! Hope to see some of you guys there! If you see me please say "HI!" - in 59 days!! :cool1:

Wow...so of the above, I can DEFINITELY agree with #1 - San Angel Inn. We ate there for the 1st (and last) time in Dec 2009 as part of the Candlelight Processional Package and I was SOO disappointed. It didn't help that we were seated in the very back of the restaurant, as close to the exit as possible! It was just so NOT good. I can sorta agree with #3 Tony's Town Square which we also tried for the 1st (last) time in Dec. 2009. We just weren't impressed but on the other hand, Mama Melrose in HS that same trip was such a pleasant surprise I can't wait to go back there.

We have done Sci-Fi several trips and I agree the food isn't much here at all, but I always get the Black & Bleu salad and enjoy it. The rest I could do without but the atomosphere is cool. However my kids have specifically requested we NOT eat here this trip...they didn't enjoy the creepy movie clips apparently!

We are trying Rainforest Cafe this upcoming trip just because of the experience...never been in a Rainforest Cafe and I think the kids will enjoy the atmosphere and there isn't one near us. We don't have high expectations for the food though...but then again my kids live on Mac N Cheese and hot dogs at most restaurants anyway!

TOTALLY disagree with the Cali Grill as it's been on our list since Oct of 2008 as a must do! We've really enjoyed our food here...a May 2009 trip and Dec 2009 trip were both great meals. I'm not sure if it's just the last year it's gone downhill but anxious to find out this June!

I can't really think of any other table service we won't do other than the ones I already mentioned. I have to agree I've always been disappointed with Chef Mickey's for dinner so only do breakfast there now...mostly for the character experience and the photo! :) I wasn't overly impressed with our meal at 1900 Park Fare last December either, though the character entertainment was nice. I probably wouldn't return. We have not tried Liberty Tree, Planet Hollywood, Pizzafari, Coral Reef or Contempo Cafe but Contempo might be given a shot this upcoming trip...I'll report back then!

We like Chef Mickey's, but you are dead on with breakfast is the way to go. CA Grill we have done for the last 4 years and love it.

I thought I would test the value of the deluxe dining plan. For the five day stay that is part one of my trip this year. I went through the menus and ordered what I thought I would order in each restaurant based on what just looks good to me. Then I added up all the totals vs. the price of a dining plan and wow actually there is a savings of $102.31 using the deluxe dining plan and not paying out-of-pocket. (I guessed at the price of soft drinks)

I think I'm all planned out!

I had an anxiety dream a couple nights ago about Disney. My parents had decided to come along, there were rides I didn't know about, I forgot my touring plan cheat sheet, I couldn't figure out the Fastpass system and somehow made it so I couldn't get anymore for the rest of the day, I sent my kids to wait in line for me while I did the FP and then I couldn't find them... :crazy2:

I had a Disney NIGHTMARE about a week ago!!! We were on the Dumbo ride and it started falling apart! Giant Dumbo's falling on everyone!! :scared1::laughing:

Probably the least scary ride in the entire place and that's the one I have a scary dream about. Crazy! :rotfl2:

You guys can do some serious posting!! I sneak away for a day or two to do my real job and lose 3-4 pages in the process :cool1:

I'm having a serious case of resort remorse. We are booked at Poly and it's our first time there. Large part of me wishing we had chosen AKL, our current favorite. Would love for some of you to convince me I'm not going to regret this.

I chose the Poly because we never thought we'd be able to afford it (or...justify spending the money on it :rotfl:) and thinking in June with it being so easy to get to our two favorite parks, it will make the heat much more tolerable.

Sigh. I miss AKL!
