The all New *OFFICIAL JUNE* 2011 thread! Some like it hot!

You guys can do some serious posting!! I sneak away for a day or two to do my real job and lose 3-4 pages in the process :cool1:

I'm having a serious case of resort remorse. We are booked at Poly and it's our first time there. Large part of me wishing we had chosen AKL, our current favorite. Would love for some of you to convince me I'm not going to regret this.

I chose the Poly because we never thought we'd be able to afford it (or...justify spending the money on it :rotfl:) and thinking in June with it being so easy to get to our two favorite parks, it will make the heat much more tolerable.

Sigh. I miss AKL!

I know what you mean. We usually stay at WL and it was hard for me to stay at AKL for the whole trip. We love it at AKL lodge too, but we like part of the trip at WL so that we are close to the action. I am hoping that I won't be sad that we are so far away. I know it will be fine though. We usually drive our own car to every place but MK. Anyway, the Poly is great. (completely different from AKL but I think you will love being close to the action). It is so peaceful and we enjoy the lake and restaurants and just going to hang out in the lobby. I think that you will enjoy it.

Don't forget to order your Photopass CD before you go to Disney World. Here is a link to get it for $99.95, normally it is $149.95.

http://www.disneyphotopass.com/previsitoffer.aspx

Don't know what Photopass is, here is some info.

How does it work?
Getting started is easy! Our friendly, professionally trained photographers are all over the Parks and will provide you a Disney's PhotoPass card. Re-use the card every time you stop for photos. To view them, come back to DisneyPhotoPass.com within 30 days, log in (or register if you haven't done so already), and enter the number from your card. Then the fun really begins!

You can edit your photos, share them and create products too. Plus, prints, Disney's Photo Downloads and Disney's PhotoCD are available so no matter how you want to remember the moment, you can do it with Disney's PhotoPass service! And don't forget your camera. You can upload your own photos to use in products or order prints. It's personalization with a Disney touch!

aboutdpp_gettingstarted.gif

Q. How do I get a Disney's PhotoPass card? Is there a charge?
A. You can get a card from any Disney's PhotoPass photographer. They can be found all around the Parks, and there is no charge to get the card or to have your picture taken in the Parks. Disney's Professional Portrait service in select Walt Disney World Resort Hotels is available for an additional fee. Online registration is required to view and order photos. Q. I'm traveling with a group. Can we get the same photo added to more than one card so we can each set up our own account?
A. Sure! Just tell your photographer and they'll be happy to scan your photos onto multiple cards. Note a Disney's PhotoPass I.D. number may only be claimed into one account. Q. I heard the PhotoCD is a good deal. Is there a limit to the number of photos you can have on a PhotoCD?
A. No. Get as many photos taken as you want and you can have them all on a CD! The price is the same regardless of the number of photos in your account. Note that Disney's Gallery photos and any uploaded photos will not be included on your PhotoCD. Q. Are the ride photos included on Disney's PhotoPass system?
A. With the exception of Test Track at Epcot®, no. On Test Track you can add your photo to your Disney's PhotoPass card as you exit the attraction.
aboutdpp_viewingmyphotos.gif

Q. Help! I’ve lost my Disney's PhotoPass card or photos are missing from my account!
A. Fill out our Lost Card/Photos form and our Guest Services team will be happy to help you try and locate your missing photos. Be sure to provide as much detail as possible! Q. I ended up with more than one Disney's PhotoPass card. What do I do?
A. You can add the photos from all of your cards into one account. There are spaces to add multiple cards on the registration page as well as on the view and order photos page. Note a Disney's PhotoPass I.D. number may only be claimed into one account.
aboutdpp_websitequestions.gif

Q. Can I use my own photos on DisneyPhotoPass.com?
A. You bet! You can upload photos from your own camera to use in our photo products or to order prints. Note that uploaded photos follow the same storage policy as Disney's PhotoPass photos. You'll have 30 days from when you upload them to use them. Q. Can I purchase JPEGS individually?
A. Yes, in addition to professional prints in various sizes, you can also now purchase Disney's Photo Downloads of your favorite photos. Q. Are there any special deals?
A. We often do offer promotions on selected items. Click on the "Special Offers" tab at the top of any page for the latest.

Hello Everyone! Hope you all had a good Wed. I didn't get to post much today because DH had me looking at RVs all day with a little work done around lunch time. I am happy to say though by 8pm tonight he (we) are proud new owners of a new-to-us RV! :cool1: Funny thing is I've been good with not making changes to our June Disney trip so far. Well lady's and gent's...that might all change soon. He wants me to make a list of what we want/need to do to get it up and running to take it in June. This means part of our crew would move from ASMu to Campsite at FW. We could cancel 2 of our rooms there (out of 4) and still get park hoppers for everyone that was in those two rooms for $500 less! Decisions, decisions. Will keep you all posted.

Night, night!

Night, night!

Wow...sounds exciting! I bet that will be a great way to travel and save tons of money. I admit I have thought about getting a little pop-up travel camper myself thinking we could travel more and stay in that. It hasn't happened yet though. Have fun!
:)

I have to say, I was reading about people having Disney Dreams/nightmares as of late and I thought I'd share...I had one as well. I can't remember the details but I think I was just in the Disney parks without the family, walking around and checking out the new rides and experiences, just trying to get an idea of the layout so that when my family arrived we could go through there quickly. :thumbsup2

Of course I think it was a Disney park...it may have been Universal? See on Monday my Universal Parks 2011 planning book arrived and I immediately dove right into it, trying to absorb as much information about the Universal parks as I could to help us plan our trip there since we haven't been there in about 10 years and we have never taken the kids. I just want to make sure we take advantage of the few days we have there for touring and get as much in as we can. Reading the book on Monday, all I can say is it was getting quite irritating reading some of their Disney-bashing.

Maybe someone here has the same location/time frame.

Welcome to our group! I added your information to the list on page 1.

What happened to all our June DISers? It hasn't been very busy the last few days. Tonight I spent time putting together the autograph book I always make for the kids and getting our paint chips or our countdown calendar at Home Depot. They must seeing me coming a mile away and think, "It must be Disney time! She's taking all the paint chips again!" But it's so fun to make a calendar each year. We are not going to start counting down until 30 days out, but still, got to be prepared. The autograph book is so much fun. I think I enjoy it more than the kids, but that's okay. The other day, my son informed me that we should stay at WL again. I tried to explain to him that we are staying at AKL this year. He's only 4 so sometimes these are hard concepts. Oh well. Once we get there, it won't matter I'm sure.

If you bring an autograph book from home, what do you buy (or make?). I have no idea if my kids will be interested or not, so I thought I'd bring along something inexpensive and a sharpie just in case (so I'm not caught at the world buying a $12 autograph book or some such nonsense!).

Is there as much green space as it looks on the map? It looks like if you took the monorail from Epcot to MK there is nothing but roads and trees.

For first-timers that I book I always suggest they go to AC Moore or a Michaels store and buy one of the 'make it yourself' autograph books. They are inexpensive and a good way to see if the kids will even really be into it. And if they aren't, you can use it as a photo book (buy the triangular photo sitckys to hold the picture in place) to keep their memories in.

last year I bought a large sketch pad. I made sure to tell each character to please leave enough room for a photo to also fit on the page. (only Belle didn't hear me. too much noise.) I have since then printed photos of DD with each character and put the photo with the sig's. since she isn't a reader yet, it allows her to go through her book on her own and not have to ask every two seconds 'who is that'. this year I am 'cheating' and I bought the photo and autograph book (tinkerbell ones) for 10.50 each. (http://www.disneystore.com/photo-me...k-and-photo-album/mp/1254605/1000251+1000809/ ) was worth it to me. :confused3

also, when I am on the rail i've not actually relaxed enough to check outside much. normally talking and planning what we are doing.

Yay! That's exciting!

isn't it?! I *MADE* my DD sit and watch it with me! :rotfl: no, no you cannot go pee yet, we need to finish learning about Toy story mania! :lmao: (j/k I did pause it for her. )

What happened to all our June DISers? It hasn't been very busy the last few days.

I've been here, just don't know what to say unless someone else says something first. I don't have much social skills so am much better at just responding. :confused3
