Welcome to our thread! I added you to the list on page 1.

if it wasn't for tax returns, we would never be able to go. :rotfl: I consider that 'money i never had'. another day closer! :woohoo::woohoo:

Yay for tax returns. We based our trip on last year's tax return and how much we thought we would get back. We ended up getting a little more than I expected. This begs the questions...should I save it and just wait for next year? Or...do we book two more days (with a little tax refund still left over)? The practical side of me says to save it. The DISNEY FAN in me says to go for it. My husband wants to save it, but I am not convinced.

I've been away from the DISboards for a little over a month (life got in the way) and I can't believe how much I've missed in this thread alone! I feel like playing along with all the fun stuff, but by the time I go back and get everything sorted I feel like there wouldn't be a point...also, the tips are awesome!!! I never thought to take a photo of contact info in case my camera gets lost, and it never even occurred to me to take photos of my place before I left just in case...can't wait to get fully caught up :thumbsup2

Welcome back. Jump right back in! I love to see the answers to the questions. It makes me think of things I missed, things I need to try, etc. I love other opinions of things.

Now off to price out two more days with the room discounts. :surfweb: Two more days would be so much fun. :dance3:

Oh how I wish we could do that! Unfortunately work won't allow much more time off, and if our teenager of the party goes back to community college this summer, we need to be back in time for class, and maybe should save money for the classes... (:

we've got $100 set aside for tips  I guess that's what we get for doing the deluxe dining plan

ditto! But, last year on our super short trip, we nearly didn't eat because I hadn't set times to do so outside of one ADR I made... (was planing on QS but even then, I 'forgot' what time it was, so it was super late before any of us thought, wait a min, when did we last eat? :confused3 )

So with my full 'plate' of character meals, and set times to eat... this trip we shall have much more fun! (and not be nearly as crabby!) If that means 100 bucks in tips, than so be it!

and there's NO way we would do all these places otherwise (4 character meals, plus a few other TS)

exactly! I have planned so many meals that would totally not happen without dining plan. rather than eating 2-3 meals a day (like we do at home) we would end up eating QS once or twice a day. so much happier just thinking of sitting down inside a restaurant even if they are buffets!

We live in Georgia, so flying would be more expensive...

oh, don't get me wrong, I could have saved about 200 dollars or so by driving, I just would not be happy. and why vacation if you can't be happy?

Thanks for the website! It does all the math a lot faster than I can :)

I can't tell you how many times I've used that site! it really is a lifesaver sometimes for planning ahead. don't *just* use the trip guide, there is also a price finder. you enter a state and city (or a zip) and they tell you (this is using my middle of nowhere info)

"Area Average : $3.705
Last Week: $3.587 Last Month: $3.475 6 Months Ago: $2.728 Last Year: $2.833"

"Average Cost To Fuel A Vehicle With a 15 Gallon Tank: $55.58
Last Week: $53.80 Last Month: $52.13 6 Months Ago: $40.93 Last Year: $42.49"

AND, current prices of area gas stations, so you can get a good idea of where you should go to fuel up. (they even tell you when the price was last updated, so you know how current the info may be. like for mine:
$3.679
Apr 06 04:26 AM
$3.979
Apr 06 04:26 AM

(that is reg first, dsl second)
 best of all, the info is all FREE!

1) How many miles do you live from Disney World?
I live 11 hrs 43 mins, 748.07 miles from WDW

2) What is your favorite show: Finding Nemo The Musical

3) What is your favorite gift shop?
Art of Disney & World of Disney in DTD

4)What is your favorite breakfast meal? (include name of restaurant, cart, etc. and the specific name of the menu item or be as specific when describing it as possible)
Not a huge Breakfast person, we are a muffin/bannana from the food cart on the way to bus station make ropedrop kinda people

5) What is your favorite lunch or dinner meal? (include name of restaurant, cart, etc. and the specific name of the menu item or be as specific when describing it as possible)
Wolfgang Puck Cafe in DTD, everytime!

6) What is your favorite dessert? (include name of restaurant, cart, etc. and the specific name of the menu item or be as specific when describing it as possible)
Nothing stands out in my memory!

The DISNEY FAN in me says to go for it. My husband wants to save it, but I am not convinced.

for me it would depend on a few things, first of all being how long is the trip to start with, would I have to take more days off work (I do not get paid vacation, so this a BIG). Along with just how much extra are we talking about? lol, I mean this as in, would spending it on adding two more days make it to where you might be stretching your food budget, or for tips, or other 'extras' over just the basic room and ticket prices? Would I rather book only one more extra day, and use that other days money for some thing REALLY COOL like any of the aqua sea/divequest/dolphins tours. something that I would always want to go do, but the price tag scares me.

personally I would end up either doing something REALLY COOL (dolphins! (if only my DD was old enough!) or seas aqua tour! (also still not old enough.)) or 'saving' it. see if I end up using it to splure at disney, or even on other items before/after the trip... maybe see about a 'stay-cation' or somewhere nearer to home we could visit for a weekend.

the possibilities are endless! have fun with whatever you end up doing with the extra! :thumbsup2

How about adding "A Dream is a Wish Your Heart Makes" (Cinderella) and "A Friend Like Me" (Aladdin)?

also missing: grim grinning ghosts, laughing/happy place (splash mt song) and my personal fav of main street electrical parade. :wizard:

So, for those of you that have been in June or are familiar with park touring...
How many rides can you get in before lunch if you got there at rope drop?

I've read the Unofficial Guide and I've seen the touring plans from the book but I'm not subscribing to their online stuff. I tried to get a feel from my kids about what they want to do on the first day there (our first of 3 MK days), and they want Dumbo, Teacups, and Tomorrowland Speedway.

Anyway, I've put a guide together for rides in a certain order, getting FP along the way, etc etc. But I've got like 10 rides before we leave the park for an afternoon break. Is that realistic? For reference, they are:
Dumbo
Get Peter Pan FP
Ride Winnie the Pooh
Ride Teacups
Get Buzz FP
Ride Tomorrowland Speedway
Ride Peoplemover
Monster's Inc
Ride Buzz
Ride Peter Pan
Ride Philharmagic
Ride It's a Small World
-break-

Again, I don't know where we'd be in FP maturity, so things might shift a bit, but we'd cover two lands and not be running all over, while trying to hit early the rides that are the slowest to load and stuff.

I was just looking at someone elses plans from a February trip and they did 10 rides in one day! So I thought maybe I was crazy.

I made a chart to see what effect gas prices were going to have on our trip to the world. Not as bad as I thought.

For your playlist, I would add Zip-a-Dee-Doo-Dah, Ever Ever After from Enchanted, and Circle of Life or I Just Can't Wait to be King from the Lion King.
I need to get working on my Disney playlist, since we'll be in airports for a while, and after having to wait because our flight got cancelled for, in our opinion, no reason, we now know to be extra prepared with music.

Well, it really depends on crowd lvls, if you use the fastpasses and how fast you walk! Plus, are you taking time to wait for characters?

I really didn't pay attention to how many we went on, nevertheless by when. I just played it all by ear, and it worked out. :confused3

I do think maybe 10 rides before noon might be pushing it, I mean, if RP is at 9am, and you want to be done with 10 by noon, that is 3 hours to do 10 rides, or about 3 rides an hour. I guess that might be do able if the lines are 20 min or less each. you hit any 1 hour long lines and you wont do it. :confused3

So excited just saw on disney blog that Disney Cruise Line announced 2012 itineraries and there are a few new home ports, Galveston,Tx being one of them! So it might possible to finally do a Disney Cruise next year. But first things first we gotta do our 1st Disney World trip! :woohoo:
