that's a great first aid kit! Did you take a store bought one and add some of your own stuff? I have a list of stuff to pack.
I'm taking a mini kit into the park with me. I know they have first aid stuff in the park, but if my 2 y/o falls and scraps up her knee I don't want to have to hunt down somewhere to get a bandaid. Much easier to just take stuff out of our backpack and fix her up right there.

here's my list for the 1st aid kit for the trip (for the park has a *):
wet ones*
bandaids*
aloe vera
pepto bismol*
children's tylenol
allergy medicine*
adult tylenol*

anyone else want to share? Am I missing anything?

No I got a box from Walmart and made my own. My kids always need something, band-aids, Pepto Bismol or something else. So I started bring my own because resort gift shops are expensive.

my first aid kit is pretty simple, it consist of a pre-made first aide kit from dollar tree that includes band aids of various sizes and antiseptic wipes and something else that i cant think of off the top of my head, aloe vera (for me because dd doesnt burn, although i'm sure dgs will get some use of it this year) and some tylenol. really only the aloe vera is special everything else stays in my purse all the time anyway. This year i'll make sure to pack my knee brace because i left that last time and it was not a fun time!

I have uploaded a photo from Disney world. Can you tell me where in Disney World the photograph was taken?

sahm2two list includes:

  • wet ones
  • bandaids
  • aloe vera
  • pepto bismol
  • children's tylenol

I don't have quite as elaborate a kit as that...but I always carry a backpack that has the following in it:

  • inhaler (learned this one the hard way on several vacations...DH now keeps on in his car and I have one on me at all time)
  • bandaids
  • children's tylenol & advil
  • allergy medicine (several varieties for kids and adults)
  • adult tylenol & advil & alieve
  • emory board (I hate getting a split nail and not being able to deal with it)

Don't forget to take stuff for your feet!

Mole skin
small pair of scissors
nail clippers
powder
Peppermint foot lotion to soothe your feet before bed.

Can I please join the group? I have been busy making shirts for us from the great DISigners that I haven't ventured very far on these boards! :)

We are driving from Kansas City so I have started a tote with things for the ride, and things for the townhouse.

So glad to know I am not the only one who plans so far in advance.

Our boys don't know yet, we are surprising them on Easter. I have eggs that have the words "We are going to see Mickey Mouse" in them, so that my 3rd grader has to put them together in a sentence to know what it says. I also printed some clip art that has the different states we are driving thru.

We will be staying at Windsor Hills townhouse June 25th thru July 2nd
Our Charater Meals are Tusker house June 30th 830am and Chef Mickeys on July 1st.

Just wondered if anyone has been to WDW before during the week of a shuttle launch? From what I can tell, it is scheduled to be the 28th, Tuesday.

Well, we decided on taking a trip at the end of May, then DH said he thought that our youngest DD was too young to go to WDW (she'll be 1 in June) so I was going to cancel. Well, low and behold, a great gift from a fellow "friend" came our way (well, we are waiting for it to be mailed) and DH said let's go!!!! :cool1:

We will be staying at ASMuFS from 6-1-11 thru 6-6-11!!! I have our ADR's set, but haven't decided if we are going to change one. We've never eaten at Raglan Road and was wondering if was worth it? Also thinking about eating at Whispering Canyon - any advice? Our favorite place to eat is at the 50's PTC - love it!!!! Also, we love 1900 Park Faire and Fulton's - they are all three traditional eats!:thumbsup2

Also, any advice on taking a one year old?:confused3 We were thinking about flying this time around, but I told DH that I really wasn't sure about packing for a one year old - I mean, I would have to pack a suitcase just for diapers, wipes, bottles, formula, food, etc.! Plus, we are contemplating on taking her stroller (umbrella) this time instead of renting one of WDW's. I don't remember if their strollers have straps on them.

Anyway, it's great to meet you all! I will eventually read through all of these 82 pages!!!

my kit includes: a single sheet of paper with the following information typed on it: Full name, DOB, any allergies and the reaction (such as: PCN (pencillin): Rash)

Then list of all Rx's such as "Metformin 500mg, 2 tablets 2x a day, Diabetes" (I also alphabetize the list.)

After that is list of any surgeries, and month/year they occurred (and why if it isn't self explanatory. such as stating for gallstones for the gallbladder removal.)

I also include emergency contact information. Finally, I have any notes that would be good to know, such as Should be traveling with young child (insert name and DOB). or has anxiety disorder. anything not covered in the other information that an EMT or doctor should know.

I have a sheet for every person in my party. This usually is just me and my daughter, but if my mom came along, I would make one up for her as well. I can't tell you how helpful this is in an emergency, even when at home! Any time I go in, I have my sheet so I don't forget anything, and rather than trying to remember things like when I had my gallbladder removed while in pain/scared/whatever I can just hand them the sheet and they have that information.

outside of that VERY important fact sheet, In the parks I carry band aids, sunblock. This year, I am also taking benadryl, and ib profin for my DD. (she ended up having an allergic reaction a half hour before we got on the bus to go back to the airport (to fly home). and I couldn't find benadryl safe for a 4 year old ANYWHERE in the resort. :scared1: ended up phoning home and being told (by the doctor) it was safe to give her half of the dose they had available. still, do not want to experience that panic again.

Although I am allergic to the sun, I don't bring aloe because it doesn't help with the rash I get from it. :confused3 and DD never burns. We didn't have any feet issues last year, and I doubt we will this year. so yeah, simple kit.

Hi everyone!

I got an amazing email from our travel agent today (and it's definitely not an April Fool lol )

Disney has released some offers on Deluxe hotels.. we could choose between:

30% off what we've paid for our theme-park view at the Grand Floridian

or...

pay less $$ than we have .. and upgrade to concierge!! :cool1:

we went for the latter... we are soooo excited!! :cheer2:

June cannot come soon enough hehe.

Happy weekend everyone.. it's April, we're another month closer!

We will be staying at ASMuFS from 6-1-11 thru 6-6-11!!!

SWEET! I will be at ASMu with my DD then too, although I switch over to CBR on friday. :wave

Also thinking about eating at Whispering Canyon - any advice?

GO! have fun! and ASK FOR KETCHUP!

I mean, I would have to pack a suitcase just for diapers, wipes, bottles, formula, food, etc.!

don't pack those! ship them! or order from a company that will deliver! So much easier and cheaper to ship to your resort, or have them delivered than to lug it all yourself, esp if your going for a full week.

Plus, we are contemplating on taking her stroller (umbrella) this time
DO IT! esp if you are flying, as that stroller will be a lifesaver in the airport. you can check it at the gate, so that during your wait you can let your 1 yr old stay in the stroller.

Anyway, it's great to meet you all! I will eventually read through all of these 82 pages!!!

heh, nice to meet you too, and I hope you have fun reading the old posts!

other tips are: baby care centers in the parks: USE THEM! I didn't know they existed, and wish I had. Remember that this year, that 1 year old is free, on the plane if you keep them as a lap baby, and in Disney. so, really it is worth it, as it is costing you nothing 'extra' to take him/her along too! well other than your time, that you give them anyway! :thumbsup2

Welcome, we took our 1 year old Aiden to Disney and loved it. The older kids did not think they would like the trip because of the baby, but it did not turn out that way. We got fast-passes for the rides and the older kids took turns riding with Lisa and I, so they got to ride twice. Also the photos we have at WDW of Aiden are priceless!

Welcome! How fun and what are great way to surprise your boys. I am sure they will love it. You have to tell us what their reactions were when they see it. I am so bad at surprises that I could never keep the secret. I always tell the kids. I added your information to our list on page 1 but I didn't know your time for Chef Mickey's on 7-1.

Welcome to the June board! We are a great group if I do say so myself. :thumbsup2 I added your information to the list on page 1 as well.

Let's see... As far as tips for taking a one year old. We have taken my daughter three times already..all before she turned 2.
1) Visit the baby centers often to change diapers, eat snacks, and just be out of the heat for a little while.
2) Take naps at the hotel in the afternoon for everyone's sanity.
3) Pack little snacks for your child to take with you into the parks especially when waiting in line.
4) Make sure you do a few rides at a time and take advantage of the play areas so they can get down and walk/move around a little.
5) Make sure to use Rider Swap so you can go on all the rides and not have to wait as long.

Really need some input again. Earlier I had asked if having dinner at 1900 Park Fare with Cinderella would take some of the "magic" away from our next day at MK and our dinner at CRT. Pretty much everyone said yes, since this is our first time to wdw.
So my question now is would eating at Chef Mickey's be a "magic stealer" too?
It's the only day they have available and I would love experience it but it's the day we arrive & not sure if seeing Mickey would build the excitement or not? :confused3 What do you guys think?
