They were replaced with 1234567890 before I shared the photo of the spreadsheet. Thanks for keeping me safe. I need all the help I can get some days. :thumbsup2

oh ahahah! I didn't even notice. LOL. I just freaked out when I saw your sheet. LOL

And yes, my spreadsheet is pretty much the same (from July 09)

Please add us to the list too! June 1 thru June 8 at the Pop Century resort. We are taking my parents for the first time! Can not wait!

Hi again everyone!

We just purchased our WDW tickets Sunday for our stay! We are doing the Disney Youth Education Program in DHS on June 23. Has anyone done these programs before? They are a TON of FUN! We did on this past July in AK and it was a BLAST! And you can't beat the discount on park tickets-$170 for a 5 day park hopper!

I love the spreadsheet with the times. I think I may have to modify mine...I keep thinking I'd rather have times on the left. I've added the same info to my Google calendar AND to the calendar in my phone.

Here is a link to mine:
Dina's Disney Planning Spreadsheet

I have a few days with alternate ADRs that I just haven't narrowed down yet. Most of the rest of it is pretty set...but I need to squeeze in the fishing excursion for the family. I know my DD mentioned she has NO interest in the fishing trip :rotfl:...not sure about my older son. If my oldest DS goes, then there will be five on the boat: MIL, FIL, DH, DS6 and DS11

The girls will just have to find something else to do...but it's tough since not much else to do at 7am!!!
:confused3

I was considering this as well. I may have to revisit it and see if I can fit it into my plans.

Question if anybody knows...if they give you the 5-day hopper...can you upgrade it? :confused3 I plan to get 10-day hoppers for us...and probably an AP for myself.

Oh boy... where to start? Well, we will be at WDW for 3 weeks -- June 14-21 at BCV and June 21-July 5 at VWL. We're actually flying out the night before so we can be there during the day on the 14th. We weren't going to do it, but the flight was about $150 cheaper/person to go at night. We paid about $350/person for our flights. I just checked the same flights a couple days ago and they are now going for about $770 a person.

We are doing the DxDP. We like knowing that it's paid for before we eat.

I love the little photos on your spreadsheet. :thumbsup2

Need some guidence;)

I am not near as organized as some of you and I am totally in awe of some of you and your awesome spreadsheets:worship: I think I might need to get me one of those! Anyhoo, I am trying to plan out the dining for our trip. We are staying offsite and not doing the dining plan. We are trying to do 1 sit down for the 6 of us daily. The rest we will eat at the resort or something quick offsite. Here is the basic layout of our trip. I am looking for some good dining recs for our Magic Kingdom day, Universal day, and our "open" Disney day. WHat do you all think? We have never been, so I just don't know what is best. My kids are/will be 11, 8, & 7. No interest in Pooh, or Princess stuff:rolleyes:

Saturday 6/18 - Get into Orlando about 2. Get to resort, Hang by the pool, do some grocery shopping, etc..

Sunday 6/19 - Magic Kingdom. Would like to take a mid-day break, then head back for more and parade (does anyone know what time the parade is?)

Monday 6/20 - Disney Hollywood Studios, ADR for 50's Prime Time Diner, Animal Kingdom in the afternoon/evening

Tuesday 6/21 - ADR for Chef Mickey's, Blizzard Beach, and Cirque in the evening

Wednesday 6/22 - Epcot, ADR for Coral Reef

Thursday 6/23 - Universal

Friday 6/24 - Open Disney Day. Go back and visit some favorites

Saturday 6/25 - Head back to Texas around 3:30pm

If it was me and your 50s prime time ADR was for lunch, on Monday of your trip I would eat dinner at Boma that night.

um...at the risk of sounding like a bozo, is there a key for the crowd calendar? What are the dollar signs for...and the percentage?

Thanks!

Here’s a quick explanation of how to read the calendar and what the numbers mean. It may seem like it’s a little long, but you’ll only need to read the explanation once.

  • The first line in each box is the date.
  • The second line shows the cost to book a room at a Disney-owned resort. $ = Value Season, $$ = Regular Season, $$$ = Summer Season, $$$$ = Peak Season, and $$$$$ = Holiday Season. Occasionally there will be a + or – after the $$$ to show that the cost is slightly higher or lower than usual, but not by enough to raise it another $ notch.
  • The third line is the average high and low temperature and the chance of precipitation. All data is based on the last 15 years. I wouldn’t read too much into the precipitation percentages for each day because just one or two additional days of rain in the last 15 years can raise the percentage substantially. I included it so you can look at the precipitation trends throughout the month(s) and take it into consideration when deciding when to book your vacation. For a broader overview of the month, read the month-by-month overview I linked to above.
  • The fourth line is an estimation of crowds on a 1-10 scale. A 5 refers to average crowds. Anything above a 7 means substantially higher than average crowds and anything under a 3 means there will be substantially lower crowds. Crowds can be difficult to estimate because of unforeseen promotions that bring in additional visitors, weather patterns, special events, theme park hours, and more. This means the crowd estimates may change as your vacation dates approach. I don’t only take into consideration attendance when considering crowd levels either. Park hours, special events, Extra Magic Hours, and more are all considered. In other words, the crowd levels are an indication of “how crowded the Park feels” and how long the lines to the attractions will be, rather than simply an estimation of how many people will be somewhere in Disney World that day.
  • The fifth line shows the theme parks I recommend visiting in green and the theme parks I recommend avoiding in red. There is also a | sign that splits up the recommended and not recommended Parks for the color blind or those reading the PDF file (the Parks to the left of the | sign are recommended). I use the usual abbreviations for the Parks; AK is the Animal Kingdom, EP is Epcot, HS is Hollywood Studios, and MK is the Magic Kingdom. In addition to the colors, the Park on the far left is the most recommended Park to visit that day. The Park second to the left is the second most recommended and so on. For example, if the line reads AK EP | HS MK then the Animal Kingdom is the most recommended and Epcot is the second most recommended. On the other side of the | sign, Hollywood Studios is not recommended and the Magic Kingdom is expressly not recommended even more. Please read below the calendar for an overview of how I’ve selected the recommended Parks and also a day-by-day explanation.
  • The sixth line lists which Parks have Extra Magic Hours and at what time they start. Morning Extra Magic Hour lasts one hour and usually starts at 8am. Evening Extra Magic Hours last three hours from the start time. For example, if you see AK:8am EP:9pm, that means the Animal Kingdom has a morning Extra Magic Hour from 8am-9am and Epcot has evening Extra Magic Hours from 9pm-12am.
  • The last line lists the Fantasmic show times at the Hollywood Studios. At the moment, only one show is scheduled on nights with a Fantasmic. Disney may add a second show closer to March.

Question for everyone:

Tell me one fun thing you do to prepare that is a tradition for you and your family - like do you always make t-shirts? Do you all read and plan over the maps together?

My answer - and this is what prompted the question - is that my kids just informed me that it's ALWAYS their tradition that they watch all their disney movies before going. I had no idea they always did this LOL.

Anyone else?

Does everyone go this nuts on planing? Here is the spreadsheet I put together for each trip.

Wow. This is amazing. I have a spreadsheet, but it's not this detailed or colorful. Kudos to you! And thanks for the explanation on the crowd calendar. :)
