Thanks. You always give me a lot to work with. :thumbsup2 I think two backpacks will be a better solution. Does it take long to get through security?

We got these and love them. It fits the below the seat in the stroller.

K-Cliffs Clear Transparent PVC Multi-pockets School Backpack/ Outdoor Backpack with Color Trim

OK. Thanks to DIS suggestions I just bought two of these passport holders on a string with a punch of zippered pockets to wear around our necks for carrying the KTW, fast passes, blackberry, etc. (GREAT TIP) I wish that was all I needed, but with 3 kids (8,10,12) in tow I know we will need more with us. At the very least, I figured we would need water bottles, rain ponchos, a couple snacks and sunblock. I am hoping some of you DW veterans can provide this newbie with some insight. What else should I bring? I want to go as light as possible but make sure to cover the bases. Also, would you suggest one backpack or spread it over a couple?:confused3

My kids are 6, 8 and 11 and I generally carry one sling bag like this:Mini Sling

:) I pack it full of meds (advil, ibuprofen, benadryl, zyrtec for kids and adults), bandaids, a few individual wipes, sunblock, some small snacks, a few ziploc baggies of various sizes for extra snacks purchased (sandwich and quart stuffed into a gallon ziploc) and my cameras (video and regular). This leaves a little bit of space for me to put more stuff.

Now we tend to drive to the parks even though we are on property, so I try to take light jackets and/or ponchos and keep them in the car if we don't need them. I can fold them and take them in if I think we need them, but in that case I have a larger drawstring daypack from Disney. It's a canvas one with a drawstring at the top that expands and has a small zipper pocket in the front. I can stuff that one more full with light jackets and ponchos if I feel we'll need them. :thumbsup2

I'm going to try to pack as lightly as possible since it will be so hot. However the kids have already asked to bring their fan spray bottles (which have straps so they can wear them) and I have a mini fan/sprayer that I will probably take. I also have two of these:
http://www.amazon.com/Insulated-Sport-Water-Bottle-Holder/dp/B000Q65A26/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1303227516&sr=8-3

That I can attach to clothing or my backpack for water bottles. Hopefully two will be enough and we can share and refill them. I just don't want to be hauling around 5 water bottles but we've never been in the heat of June! ;)

Like you I have a passport holder but also pack ponchos, fruit snacks, frozen uncrustables, frozen water bottles, sunblock, autograph books and extra tanktops or tshirts (for after water rides).

Thanks to all of you for the great ideas and especially the links to the products. I am learning so much through this group! I really like the idea of the insulated water bottle holder so the kids can hold their own - less for me to lug around!

Great! Welcome! I added you to our list on page 1. I just didn't know your hotel information. Glad you finally found us!

Oh sorry, I am doing a split stay

June 5 to 12 SSR

First time staying at either of those :cool1: So excited!

Hi all! My DH and I will be spending our Anniversary weekend at Disney World! It will be my 10th visit, and his 3rd. We were there in October with our 1 year old, but this will be a solo trip.

My big question is- when we had the baby, I brought in a diaper backpack, but what should I do for just the 2 of us?! I usually just bring a swing purse, but I'm concerned about it getting cool in the evening, and I usually just buy a sweatshirt, but we are having dinner at Citricos, so that wouldn't work...

We are staying at Pop Century, and I was planning to take the bus, but would our car be a better option?!

We will be staying off-site for a conference the first part of the week, and checking in before Check in at Pop Century, and heading straight to the Magic Kingdom. Tips?

So jealous of those of you getting snow and even 80 degree weather! It was 100 here yesterday and windy. We are surrounded by wildfires (I live in Texas), and everything is smokey - yuck! Praying for rain! At least I'll be prepared for June heat in Florida!

Quick question - I've never had a mister fan, but I'm thinking of getting one this year. I'll buy it before we leave (no sense in paying Disney prices). But they all seem really big. How do you carry them around? Can you put them in a backpack, or do they leak? I'd rather not lug them on all the rides, but I'm afriad they may get snatched if I leave it in the stroller.

It won't get taken if you leave it on the stroller. That's what I did, I bought a large "D" hook at Wal-Mart (4 in a pack) and clipped it to the stroller. I will tell you though that in 6 days last August (so stickin' hot...) I never touched it- always forgot about it. :confused3

Happy anniversary! I love trips with just my husband (of course I love ones with the kids too!). Most times when it's just the two of us I get a reprieve from schlepping the stuff! My husband wears cargo shorts with big pockets, and carries the tickets, camera, a small bottle of sunscreen which we refill daily, hand sanitizer, a credit card and some cash. It's so nice not to have the mommy bag and be in charge of everything!

I'm very cool natured, and get chilled in air conditioning, so I hear you on wanting something to keep you warm in the evenings. This will be our first June trip, but in July I haven't really had too much problems with being cold at night. A few times if we had a nice dinner I might take along a cardigan (which I picked up in the room during a mid-day break - I never carry it around all day). Hope you have a great trip!

We're at Day 45 and made the final payments to our reservations! It's official now..WE'RE GOING TO DISNEY WORLD!!!!!

How exciting! I am glad that some people are getting so close. We are still almost a full month behind. The difference between the beginning of June and the end of June seems so big!

When we go it's usually just the 2 of us.(DD is 21 and can carry her own stuff.) At least 1 if not both wear cargo shorts and put everything in the pockets. That way no bag check. We get the .88 ponchos at walmart and throw them away after use. They fit easily in the pockets. The only time we've been a little cool was in Jan '10 when it was in the 30's and 40's. We of course found some mickey stocking caps for the occasion.

It's so funny. I can't even imagine Disney cold. Just doesn't seem like the same place to me. We went in November for our honeymoon and it was 65 during the day and I was freezing. I hate being cold. My husband thought it was the most gorgeous weather ever. He ran around in shorts and I had on a sweatshirt and jeans. I will take my 90 degrees any day over 30 or 40. Brrr!!!

I can't decide if I'd rather have the sticky hot June heat or the freezing winter cold. I'm reading a trip report from December right now and man they look COLD!!!!

It was FRE-RE-RE-EEE-ZING when we went in December. I'd take the heat any day. It made touring the parks miserable because we were hunched over and shivering. We skipped so much stuff at night especially in the World Showcase where the wind coming off the water made it brutal!
