The all New *OFFICIAL JUNE* 2011 thread! Some like it hot!

Hi All!

My DH, DD2 and I will be starting our "dream vacation" on June 2nd, 2011 in a Deluxe Savanna Studio in Animal Kingdom Lodge. We will be there for 3 nights, 4 days, then transferring to the darkside... uh, um on (universal) property at Portofino Bay club level for four more nights. It's my last theme park vacation before DH gets his way and we start cruising. I then mentioned DISNEY cruise and well... if looks could kill...



anyways... I also have a May trip I am planning for, so I'll get right on those ADR's for June (in about an hour...) Thanks for having me along for the right into June!

Quite honestly DCL is the best cruise line around...we have been on Disney, Carnival, and Royal Car....we enjoyed all of them but Disney will still be at the top of our list for cruises.

Welcome! I added you to our list on page 1. Ohhh! I can't imagine this being our last theme park vacation. That would be too sad for me. I would just leave my husband at home and go by myself. But I do want to try a cruise sometime soon too. I want to wait for the kids to get just a little bit bigger and then ...you guessed it... I too, want to go on a Disney cruise. What could be better than the best of both worlds?!

1) If I was a Disney right now, I'd be...

Sleeping, or doing exactly what I am doing right now... being on dis! Now, if I could be doing ANYTHING at dis, despite the time it is... I would totally want to be either in the CBR hammock, or riding the HM.

2) When you told people you were going to Disney, what did they say?

1. I wish I could afford that,
2. I wish I could go,
3. -unhappy silence- (from my dad who thinks I shouldn't spend the money on Disney rather than bills I'll always have.)
4. That should be fun!/I'm happy for you!

4) If you could, what one attraction would you redo?

I would love to be able to expand CoP. I wouldn't get rid of anything already there, just add a stage or two.... or three... I mean, everything is decades, but they hit the 80's.. and ran out of room? be cool to add what is missing rather than the large jump... look at the changes in tech, what survived, what got better what fell away.

5) What one Disney attraction do you hope they will never take away?

only ONE!? okay okay I have wittled it down to two... CoP and Peter Pan.

6) What one Disney attraction do you wish they would bring back?

Toontown! I had planned to let my DD spend a few hours in toon town this year, as we actually have the time.... She so loved the area, and it really was perfect for the young child crowd. *sobs* and I remember it from when I was a kid!

7) If you could rename each of your family members after a Disney character based on personality, what would their names be (include yourself)

My DD would most likely be Lilo... a little 'odd' compared to her friends, but has a really great heart and pretty smart all told.

Me, urhm.... I am a bit like tigger (can be hyper) but I also can be a bit like Marlin (Finding Nemo), although I aspire to be more like Dory..

I just can't decide for me, how about that??

It's already being done and while I'm excited, I'm also nervous that I'll hate it! Star Tours. Guess we'll find out in June!

5) What one Disney attraction do you hope they will never take away?
For me, there were three. They've already ruined one of them at WDW. That was the Tiki Room. I won't even go in that abomination anymore. The others are Pirates and the Haunted Mansion. I think I would break up with Mickey permanently if either of those two ever cease to exist!

6) What one Disney attraction do you wish they would bring back?
The original Tiki Room (I'm looking at you Bob Iger! Now's your chance!!!)

It's a beautiful morning here in MD too. Yesterday was 80 at our house. We spent the afternoon at the playground and it was so nice to be outdoors in shirt sleeves. I can't wait for Disney. It's getting closer and closer. Hope you enjoy your day Mary!

June 2nd- 12:00 PM Le Chefs de France; ((CS from Epcot for dinner))

June 3rd- 6:20 PM Jiko; ((snacks @ AK for breakfast, Mara CS for lunch))

June 4th- 9:15 AM Kona Cafe; 6:35 PM Tony's Town Square

June 5th- we'll just hit Wolfgang Puck Express for lunch, then grab a couple Earl of Sandwiches on our way to Portofino Bay Hotel.
