We are heading back in 12 days, for another 6 nights. We'll be in the main building, but I'd certainly be happy to let you know what I see happening around SL when I return.

Thank you, thank you....I'm sure many of us here would certainly appreciate any and all pictures you could take of the construction at the GF during your upcoming visit.:cutie:

Our SL stay begins Sept 19th, and those pictures of the construction walls, heavy equipment, and workers right outside the window are very upsetting for me too. That is absolutely NOT a view I am willing to accept!:scared:

Here are 2 more GF photos I found while doing my TR...

It was raining and I took it from the MK monorail station. It was raining at the GF and lake but not at the station so it made a haze blurry effect I thought was kind of cool

only 9,856 more photos to go :lmao:

Brook ,

Is that your Golden Retriever in your avatar ? He or she is gorgeous !!! I have 2 Goldens myself :goodvibes

Here are two that I have uploaded... This was what it was like when they weren't working on it. This did not come down at night. This was there the whole time. Still not what one expects to look at from your resort balcony.

That view is really bad. For 3 rooms in CL, all with that view, I'd consider that unacceptable. I'm glad it didn't poison you against the GF, though  You're returning so soon! That's awesome. I hope your patience is rewarded with a beautiful view this time princess:

ScottMC - Every time I have requested Boca Chica, I have gotten it. Maybe you could request "Boca Chica, upper floor"..

because I am still questioning location.. I called and I can move to the Main building with the code I have for 800.00 more....
Is the views tha much beter..
WWYD..thoughts? Anyone have pictures?
Angela

$800 more for how many nights? It's not so much the views that are better but just being in the main building, hearing the pianist and orchestra in the evenings from the club lounge and from some of the guest rooms... having coffee in the morning... or tea and a scone w/ Devonshire cream in the afternoon, appetizers and a glass of wine in the evening, etc. RPC is very nice :wizard:
Views in RPC are of MK or Lagoon/Poly/Wedding Pavilion/Theme Pool or Courtyard/Courtyard pool. I've had an MK view and also some beautiful Poly/Lagoon/Wedding pavilion views :cloud9:

Has anyone who talked to a CM found out if they are planning on doing any of this exterior refurb/construction to any of the other outer lodges??? We all may be relieved that SL will be done soon, but what if they then start on others! Maybe I should just upgrade to RPC now to avoid the uncertainty. I REALLY don't want workers outside my window and we plan to be at the resort a lot on this trip.

Also, has anyone ever changed their room type at check in because they did not like the view or building? Is it possible to do that? Say we get there and we are put in a Conch courtyard view (or construction view, as it currently is) and the only other availability is in one of the other buildings for a lagoon view or something else. Can I change my ressie at that time and just pay the difference? I would even be willing to upgrade to a concierge level to avoid construction!

I do think Boca Chica and Big Pine at least have already been completed. I'd request one of these. If you have a view like simplymama's I wouldn't hesitate to say you need to be moved. I don't think you need to upgrade. They will move you and figure it out.

I just uploaded the first big chunk of GF photos of our room.

The gift tote pictured was a gift from my TA. The 2 gift baskets were ordered by me for the kids through memories by Betsy.

Please do not use my photos without my permission. They do have hidden watermarks and a copyright filed. They also are embedded with an EXIF file. Due to photo thieves stealing and selling/using photos and crediting themselves all uploaded photos should have this protection... its a sad scary world with freaks who steal others photos to make a quick buck.

it would be for 7 nights... My DH and I were talking and a few things have changed our mind...we do plan on being at the resort alot in the afternoon with the heat, and naps (fingers crossed) and to be able to sit and relax and listen the the pianist and orchestra and not having to go from building to buildingto get to the monorail with all the kids, will make our trip that much nicer for us... and this really is the last time we will do Deluxe unless my parents come with us du to having a large family and will need two rooms...so he said go for it... So, I guess the SL issue even if it is resolved... worked out well for me... Now I just have to call and put in a room request...

Brook, thanks for more photos. Those basket are as adorable as your children. What a nice gift for you from your TA.:wizard: I'm glad to hear the rumor about no more balloons was bad info. Love the photos of the GF and lagoon in the rain. Isn't it amazing how localized hard rains can be in FL?

simplymama, I sure hope your rooms this trip have a perfect view! :cloud9:

Sounds PERFECT. You will love staying in the main building.

Praline3001 - lots of great pics. Glad to see you got the MK view you requested :wizard: The castle looks beautiful! (you really zoomed in!) All the in-room goodies look great.

I was tickled to get my castle view! I did zoom in but you should see it with my telephoto lens :lmao:

I could most likely see cindy taking her afternoon nap:lmao:

Here are a few shots of DD in her Step sister gown.

In the background is the door to the Walt Disney suite.

(dipping into the wallet) CLASSIC! :rotfl2:

Your daughter is so cute - did you have her dress made? I love the colors!

Actually I think he was looking for cash to tip the bell hop for our luggage when it arrived but I THOUGHT IT WAS FUNNY!

Yes, I had her dress made ..its a Drizilla gown (step sister) for our 1900 park fare dinner. She had a bit of trouble with the hoop skirt :lmao:
she says she is going to wear the hoop skirt on her head for Halloween and go as a lamp shade :lmao:

Brook,

I'm loving your photos so far. Nice to hear that the noise in the lobby isn't bad at all. Glad you had a great trip -- I look forward to reading more about it!:)

Here are some photos from the 1st floor I took while waiting for our 1900 dinner which was backed up...
