Welcome! A 40th bday at the GF in RPC sounds like a great treat! And a short stay is definitely better than no stay at all! Hey -- it looks like we have some overlap -- we're staying there for a few days at the beginning of August!

what days will you be there? we will be there July 25-29

5 days till this trip though first!

okay GF junkies....what scent is in the lobby???? Beach Club uses a Scent Air Breeze system with the scent Green clover and Aloe...so what does GF use????Any one know?

if i could pick anything, it would be a pic of the view from the balcony of a deluxe rpc room! not sure if that is do-able, but it never hurts to ask!

i'd also love pics of: 1) rpc food offerings, 2) narcoosee's, and 3) citricos.

aw, shucks, any pics at all will do, i have until MARCH! waaaah!

Oh my! I've just finished going through this whole thread!
What alot of information and I bet I'll still ask questions that have been asked! LOL

Anyways, we've just booked a bounceback to the Grand Floridian from our stay at the POFQ. FQ was OK, but nothing like our memories of RPC and SL stays many, many years ago.
Problem is that we cannot afford CL this year, ecstatic we're staying GF GV though!

We were looking at the Poly, but not for the holidays, after looking at all of the photos online, the Grand won us over.

You ladies are just lovely.
I can't think anything at this moment. But, I know I will.


Oh, yes, do all the rooms have the same toiletries that you all are raving about?

WOW!! I'm so excited for our first trip to GF! After reading the threads and seeing all the great pictures, my only down feeling is that we'll only be there for 4 days! But a short stay is better than no stay!!! Traveling with DH and DD14 for my 40th bday. Staying RPC.... can't wait

We'll be there in early August -- we'll be in WDW same time as you, but we're going to be at AKL and the BC first, and then we will end up at the GF in Aug. Looks like we'll just miss each other.

Lucky you -- you have 2 trips planned! If you can post any photos of the different food offerings in the club lounge, I'd really appreciate it. I've heard very mixed reviews on the food there, and I'm wondering if I made enough ADRs for us. I am hoping that we can have some light meals in the lounge, though. Have a wonderful trip!

We're going for a Garden View...
What are your last minute tips on the best requests to make?
I'd either like a view of the courtyard pool or marina.
Are there any GV rooms near the marina that might sneak a peek at the lagoon/Contemporary/Polynesian/MK? I'd think that Conch Key might provide that, though I'm not sure that there are Garden Views on the marina side of that building.
I know I'm rambling, but I'm so excited, and it took a lot of convincing to get my companions to stay here. I want them to wonder why they ever doubted the Grand!

Well did you get it??? I'd simply request "marina view" or "pool view" as you don't want to get too specific and them not be able to grant the requests.

I asked for an upper floor, what is the chance of getting that? I just don't want to be on the ground floor.

Pretty good chance. I've actually found it hard to get a ground floor room when asking, but that could just be my experience.

hm thats tough. Hard decision since I tie in the MK view I had with the beautiful turret room we had, so I am bias to that haha. but the other view was beautiful as well in it's own way, just different. i know that doesn't really help haha
