Hey, all. I have a couple of laundry queries. What is the current cost per machine? Are the machines still coin operated or have they gone to dollar bills?

Sorry to ask something so mundane. It's been a few years since our last GF stay and I can't, for the life of me, remember the laundry details.

BCV and Heatherlynn--

Thank you so much for the encouragement about Citricos. I am certainly going to add it to our list now. I was hesitant before, but I'm now excited about it.

One more week till my ADRs!

if you look in my signiture you can see ym september deluxe dining report, there are 2 sitricos reviews in there :thumbsup2

Now I am starting to worry about Citricos...I don't want to spend 2 hours eating a meal.... does it really take that long?

Thanks everyone for the response about the cakes at CRT. I think I will celebrate our Anniversary at Narcoossee's instead. I was hoing for a custom cake from The GF bakery. I like the idea of the custom menus.

Hi. As of July 2008 the laundry at the GF was still coin-operated and it is $2 per load.

Probably more like 1-1.5 hours.

Good plan. I think you'll be happier with that :wizard:

Do you remember if they looked like newer machines to you? The old ones took two cycles or more to dry (even with smaller loads). Thanks! :)

They definitely were not new machines  They were ancient. We were in the main building for that trip and I think there was only one washer and one dryer. I don't remember having to run a second dry cycle...

if you take your time and get appetizer, entree, dessert i would say between 1.5 and 2 hours, but of course you can not be so leisurly and take a little over an hour. All kind of depends I think. We like to take our time and it took 1 hour 45 minutes.

Oh, good decision I think.:thumbsup2

Citricos also does personalized menus and is a great place to celebrate. Lovely cuisine and service.

I agree with the others...it varies. If we have three courses, it's around two hours for our family. There are usually 5 or 6 of us dining. I think larger groups take longer.

If you want to hurry, let your server know, know what you want to order, and/or skip a course. I think WDW servers are adept at timing meals.

Thanks!! :goodvibes I'm experimenting with how little I can pack this trip. So washing it will be! ;)

You're welcome. I almost always do laundry while at Disney. I love having drawers full of clean clothes plus I tend to want to wear my favorite things over and over anyway.
I take my own soap and a Zip-loc w/ quarters and dryer sheets.
Maybe there will be new machines :wizard:

I don't normally do laundry at Disney but this trip I will be forced to find an afternoon to get a load or two done.
10 days and 4 people = 40 outfits and that doesn't include changing after being in a hot sweaty park :rotfl2:
There is no way I am packing 40 outfits :scared1:
I am hoping RPC has washers. I have been told they do but I am super picky about my laundry soap ~ my kids have super sensitive skin so I will be bring my own.:thumbsup2

That is one of the advantages of the newer villas...they have the washer dryer in the villa... while packing that starts sounding REALLY nice. I wonder if they will ever build a GF villa! :rolleyes1

Citricos sounds YUMMY! I thought about it but the family said they wanted to be park bums this trip so no dressing up :sad2: 10 days of family dining ...OH JOY

Hey guys we have hail and a tornado was sighted about 2 miles from my house :scared1:

The hail is about 1/2 inch .... my car is going to be TOAST
:headache:

Its black as night ~ the kids are at school and DH is at work ... I am ALL ALONE with my doggies :scared1:

Just call my Dorthy!

My question ~ I know they have irons in the room but I can't remember if they have ironing boards? Would I just call housekeeping? I am thinking of getting one of those steamers ...been wanting one for a while now but not sure how well they work. Anyway ~ what do you guys use for an ironing board if housekeeping doesnt have them?

RPC does have a washer and a dryer. It's on the 2d floor right in the area right above GG. Depending on where your room is it may be very inconvenient...

The rooms have irons and ironing boards - both are in the closet.

Praline3001 - there are ironing boards in the closet.

I'm like johnsonet, I always do a few loads of laundry while at WDW. It seems no matter what I pack, I always have to do one or two loads, at least.

ETA - I see you beat me to it, johnsonet! ;)

We just came back from a 10-day trip where we tried this same experiment. 3 people, 3 carry-on bags, no luggage! We did end up doing a couple of loads of laundry half-way through our trip. It was worth it not having to deal with so much stuff!

That is one of the advantages of the newer villas...they have the washer dryer in the villa... while packing that starts sounding REALLY nice. I wonder if they will ever build a GF villa! :rolleyes1

You've hit on the ONE reason that the one-bedroom villas really appeal to me. We don't need the space so much (there's only 3 of us), we don't need the kitchen (I'm not cooking while on vacation :rotfl:), but I dream about having that washer/dryer in our room. I figure I'd only need 2 outfits per person that way -- one to wear and one in the wash!:rotfl: Now that vacation would be easy to pack for!

I'd be so scared!:scared1: Hope everything is ok...

It's not just the newer villas. All one, two and three BRs have a washer/dryer. There are free w/d for those who choose to stay in a studio.

Having a w/d is wonderful. I never would have guessed I would appreciate it as much as I do. I also love having a full size refrigerator and separate tub/shower.

I wonder too if there will ever be a GF or Polynesian DVC. We'd buy either in a heartbeat.

Too bad about Citricos but something to plan for the next trip!

Praline, I hope the storm passed and all is well. A tornado that close is very scary.

Oh, good decision I think.:thumbsup2

Didnt realize that you could get personalized menus here too...good to know...:thumbsup2 Makes a great keepsake!

As for laundry...no laundry on vacation for me... if anyone runs out of anything...they will just have to do without!!!!:rotfl:
