ohana That *must* be a long story, 'cause it still doesn't make perfect sense, but it's a little clearer than it was before.
Vacuum cleaner = cute name for laptop.

Reminds me of BIL. One Christmas his DW *really* wanted some diamond studs. BIL decides to play nasty trick. Takes their 4-year-old DS shopping with him for a DustBuster, telling him "We're getting Mommy some diamonds! See! This is the diamonds she really wants for Christmas! Now, you gotta promise not to tell her!!" Of course BIL realizes his DS has never once in his life kept a secret. DS whispers to his mother later that same evening that he and Daddy bought her diamonds today!! She's elated! :)

Fast-forward to Christmas morning. DS giddily takes his mom the box with "diamonds" in it. She opens the box and DS is like a kid on Christmas morning (no, really?!?) jumping up and down, just estatic..."See, Mommy! We got you diamonds! Look, it's your diamonds!!" She is not sure what to say, but is now crushed. All this time she thought she was getting diamond earrings and her mean ol' DH had told their son that this *hand vac* was diamonds!! :(

After everything else was open, and she was sure there would be no earrings, BIL pulls an ornament out of the tree for her to open. Of course, there were diamond earrings in it. BUT, to this day, if you want the DustBuster in their house, you have to ask for DIAMONDS!!!! :teeth: ::yes::

I LOVE sneaky surprises like that....just wish someone would give ME some diamond studs for a change :p

Goodnight everyone....need to get my beauty sleep ;)

Congrats to S&K'smom for the new job. Any details??

And to DHSsenior for a great 1/2 time show. Whjat about Joseph?

was able to catch up on reading. I've been MIA for a few days. Weekends = lots of activities. One more week till school and my kids are already back in action. Everyday this week they are working at the school. Now that Sam drives it makes it lot easier!! I never thought I'd say that! Off to work I go

Good Monday morning everyone!!!

Sounds like everybody had a good weekend!! We rented "13 Going on 30." I loved it, but then again, I love all chick flicks (basically...)

CheeringMom: I posted this about 4 or 5 pages back, but I didn't make it. Don't feel sorry for me because I'm actually happy I didn't... long story, you can go back and read it if you want!!

I got my formal dress for the homecoming dance Saturday!! I love it!! It's so pretty! The good thing about it (okay, one of the several...) is that I don't need to get jewelry for it because I already have some that perfectly match it... For all you guys out there, I'm sorry to subject you to this kind of silliness!!! ::yes::

Gotta finish getting ready for school!! (Why the heck am I so hyper for a stinkin' Monday morning???)

geffric Good morning back at cha Chocolate Sista! :wave2:

It's very windy and rainy here right now....think it's part of Tropical Storm Gaston. Nearly drowned walking Jordan up to the school building .....umbrella kept flipping inside out cause of wind gusts and I now feel like a wet rat ....and yes, I COULD have dropped him at carpool line, but it was sooooo long he would've been late and he freaks out if he's late so I took pity and walked him in :umbrella:...sure hope he remembers this come Mother's Day :p

hurricanes?????? I haven't watched the news all weekend. Be careful!!!!

DHSsenior pm'd ya

CADSMOM you are a good mom. My kids would've walked by themselves!!!:teeth: Jordan is one lucky kid!!

off to the dentist for a cleaning ugh

cheeringmom Thanks and way to keep those pearly whites bright and shiny! ;)

And yep....Hurricane Frances is still churning in the Caribbean threatening to hit us by the weekend and Hurricane Hermine is between us and Bermuda....hope she doesn't make trouble for you Northerners in Cape Cod

Just dropped by to say  whilst I have a cup of tea and a rest. The room is nearly done. All the painting is finished, right now we are putting the tiles down on the floor. Hopefully we will be able to grout the tiles tomorrow and put the curtains etc up and move the things in on Wednesday.

I can't believe more huricanes are heading your ways!! Is it always like this at this time of year? My friend is at his house in Florida now fixing the damage. He has got 2 weeks off work and has gone to his house with a builder friend of his. In 2 weeks he needs to completely re do his roof (he lost 75% of his tiles), rewire the house (due to water damage with the tiles blowing off.) Re paint all the rooms upstairs and re do the upstairs floors. He is going to be one busy guy!!

DHSsenior007 I hope you have a great time at your dance on Saturday. So tell us what is your dress like?
On Saturday I have to go to a family wedding. It could be interesting!! We are not really like most of the people in that side of the family. The groom is nice and very hard working. However his parents and aunts and uncles (my mums cousins) are not! They are really lazy people who do not try to do anything with their lives. They think I am quite posh now as I went to university and have a good job and enjoy good holidays. They can't seem to see that I have these things because I work very hard for them. Oh well, it could be interesting.

I guess I should get back to the floor work.

DanaUk, Hi!!

My dress (for everyone that doesn't care, skip the rest of this post!! Hehehehe...) is this really pretty light yellow strapless formal gown. It poofs out (a little bit) from the hips downward and at the top it the fabric folds over. It has this gorgeous embroidery of flowers in beads in random parts of the dress. In the back, it has three little bows down the middle (about 3 inches down from each other, the first one at the very top, the last one about the small of my back), and at the last bow, the sheeth thing that's over the actual skirt opens up and goes down at a diagonal.

I know that's a bad description, but I'll have pictures if you want them!!

The dance is the 11th. I know I made it sound like it was on this Saturday, but I meant I got the actual dress this past Saturday! When I reread it this morning, I was too lazy to go back and change it...!

Sorry!!!

Your dress sounds really lovely DHSsenior007. I loved going to the summer balls at university and getting dressed up in posh dresses! The only thing was in exchange for a free ticket and back stage pass I helped set up the ball and take everything down. Our university was in the middle of the countryside so our balls were held in a big tent where we rigged up a stage and concert sound and lighting system. So there would be me at the end of the evening climbing up a 10 meter scafolding tower, unhooking the lights from the top in my ball gown!! I always too jeans to change in to though but often didn't have time to get changed straight away. It was worth it for the back stage pass though. ::yes::

What or which hurricane?

I forgot to watch the weather. Slept in today--power was off briefly. Jessie is depressed because she hates going out in the rain to do her business.

We are going to the store soon.:wave2:
