DAD surgery update -

he was taken into surgery at 8 am yesterday and got out at 3:30..quite the ordeal..It was considered a very high risk surgery. The doctor told us before hand that due to his respiatroy problems, heart issues, kidney failure and general health that he may have a "stormy" surgery and recovery period. But he made it through better than expected and was in decent shape when he got out. He went to Surgerical Intensive care Unit for the night. That place was amazing.. with all of the monitering devices and a almost full time nurse, and surgerical resident in the room wth him. I haven't heard anything this am abouthim .. so I am assuming that he had a good night. Anyway, depending on how things went , he will move today to a regular intensive care unit..will update as I hear..

Geffric I hope you hear good news about your dad later.

The past few days have been super busy for me. Work has been hectic and I have spent a lot of time either helping at the theatre or in rehearsals. Today I went on a course with work at a nice hotel. It was quite good. Aparently the supply teacher didn't turn up to teach my class so the head teacher had to take them!

DHS- Congratulations on the boyfriend. So tell us what he is like, what he looks like, what sort of things he is interested in etc.

One of the kids in my class came back to school yesterday after his holiday to Orlando. He was in Orlando and didn't go to WDW!!
I couldn't believe it! He did have interesting hurricane stories though. Their flight landed just before the airport closed and they were stuck in their room for the first 2 days of the holiday!

Oh well, I guess I should be going. I have a rehearsal to go to later so I guess I should take a look at my script.

Geffric and Eric The boy in my class did go to universal (the day after the hurricane.) His mums sister lives in Fort Meyers so they went there to visit for a while too. I'm not sure what else they did!

I guess I should go to the theatre soon. I don't really want to go though as I am full of the cold and don't really have the energy to do dance routines. But we need to rehearse so I have to go. At least it is Friday tomorrow though. Pete breaks up from school for 2 weeks tomorrow. I work in another education authority though so I have another week to go and then I only get 1 week off!! (I have other days off that he doesn't though.)

Oh well, I'm going to the theatre.

Update on the Dad front...My sister called to report that he is still in Surgerical ICU very heavily sedated.. I am leaving work in about an hour and will be going to the hospital after I drop Eric and his friend at football practice...

did he have a bad night? I know you were hoping that he would move to the regular ICU today. It is probably a good idea that they kep him under after what he has gone thru. Its better that he doesn't feel any pain now anyway. How is the breathing? Thanks for the updates Susan. Keep us posted. I've been checking all throughout the day.

Hey everyone, I'm back from rehearsal which was great fun. Still full of the cold though and don't want to go to work tomorrow. I have to though as I was out for a meeting yesterday afternoon and out all day today on a course. I have heard from my assistant that my class were a nightmare in my absence (children walking out, shouting and being rude to the supply teacher etc.) Then today the supply teacher didn't turn up!! I know they are hard work and a challenging class but none the less I can't believe they would let me down in such a way. Tomorrow some of them will be having words from me!!

Oh well it is late here and I guess I should go to bed.

Susan, I hope your dad is well enough to be taken into regular ICU tomorrow.

Guess what?? I have no school tomorrow!! Woo hoo!! But I do have a football game that I have to be at the school at 1:30 for, but still!!

Sending tons of PD to you, Geffric!! I could only imagine what you might be feeling right now.

Okay, on a brighter note, my boyfriend's name is Andrew and he plays the saxophone in the HS band. Ummm, he's a year younger than me (hey, younger men are in!! Demi and Ashton!!! ) but he's a self-proclaimed gentlemen and he always opens the door for me and a lot of other sweet stuff! But there is trouble in paradise, of course! He has this one girl (space, space, space) friend that likes him and has liked him for a long time. She's moving somewhere in February, and before I told her that I liked him, she told me she wanted to go out with him before she moved, but he isn't interested. So she told me tonight at rehearsal that the longest he can really go out with a girl is 2 weeks, after that he gets sick of them. Now, I didn't know how true that was, so I asked Andrew about it and he said that that was only with girls that other people wanted him to go out with, but he actually wanted to go out with me. Yea, who would ya'll believe?? I need some advice please!!!!!!!!
