I've been reading about the cartoon channel 96. Is this channel available at CR? Also, the internet in the rooms is wired, isn't it? DH just started an online class and may have to finish it up while we are at WDW. TIA. BTW, the pictures are just stunning!!!
Yes that channel is available.

As for the internet the only thing I know is it's $9.95 to access it for 24 hours, when using a laptop.

Here are two HDR images I made of the two hotels, hope you like them!

Craig those images look amazing. :thumbsup2

Wow! Great pictures. I have a question, I booked about a month ago for Sept. '10. I haven't received anything in the mail from Disney. Is this normal? When I went last year I got an invoice and envelopes to send payments in. Thanks for the help.:goodvibes
Well if you made a room only reservation you should have got an e-mail confirmation only. However if you made a package reservation I know it takes them a bit longer to mail out a printed confirmation. Although no matter what you should be able to view your reservation online if your registered with the WDW website, so have you tried that?

As always, thank you for your knowledge! I thought I might be able to swing Chef Mickey's, but I don't want to be rushing. I guess we'll just sleep in a little and catch a bite at the airport! Not much time to do anything special since we're leaving too early! :sad2: Maybe while DD is sleeping, I can wake extra early to watch the sun rise...although this brings me to another question...from the MK view rooms, do you see the sun rise or set, or both? I can't picture what direction it faces!
Also, I loved the turndown service at the Poly...if you ask your mousekeeper, do they do this for you if you are not staying club level? It was such a nice touch!

we always end our trip with Chef Mickey's:thumbsup2 perhaps, depending on your flight, you could take a cab ot towncar to airport in order to do Mickey's?

Craig,
AWESOME pics I feel like I could crawl right into the computer and be there they are so vivid!!

Thanks everyone!
Here is one I really wanted to take. A bright, saturated highly stylized front view of Bay Lake Tower.

I know that this is slightly off-topic, but I just have to say how much I enjoy reading the posts on this board. Everyone is so kind and helpful, especially posters like CR Resort Fan 4 Life. And the pictures posted recently by Craig are just breathtaking!

We have an upcoming trip at Thanksgiving and we are staying MK view (!). We have never stayed at the Contemporary before. Despite any opinions of the actual resort that we may form, it will be hard to stay anywhere else on future trips because it wouldn't be as much fun to plan without reading the Contemporary FAQ.

My DIS name is much more bark than bite. :thumbsup2 A very heartfelt THANKS to you all.

I second this, crabbygal! I had no desire to stay at the CR until I started reading all the posts and asking questions here and seeing all of the beautiful pictures posted. Everyone is always so helpful and the responses are so quick :) I feel like part of a family on here...I just can't wait until I get back from my trip so I can offer help myself from first hand knowledge :woohoo: I agree...planning is half the fun for me (except the whole ADR thing for me yesterday was way too stressful! Got everything I wanted thanks to my travel agent, but waited with worry for many hours!)

I hope you also have a great time staying there and were all happy to help.

Well we're back from CR- loved our room and the Theme Park view. So here's some of my observations:

Enjoyed watching hallowishes on Tuesday night from our balcony.

There was plenty of room in the room. Enough space for a pack n play, two strollers. Drawer space was lacking, dd and ds's clothes got the drawers by the bed. Dh and I got to put our shirts in the drawers in the one closet. Our shorts staying in the suit case.

Room was in need of some repair, and could tell the quick paint job done in the bathroom. Missing a floor foot on one of the sinks. Toilet needed some extra bolting, every time you would get off of it, you felt it move off the floor.

Beds were comfortable, plenty of pillows. Dd enjoyed the pullout couch.

We could have used a bigger trash can. Just too tiny with diapers and trash etc.

Housekeeping, well, it was ok. They'd make the beds, replace towels if needed. But to start out with we had no coffee mugs. Even after the first day, they still didn't replace them. Finally one day when we returned, the cart was outside, making up the room next door, and we grabbed mugs and coffee for our room. Replacement of soap was lacking too, up until the day before we left, we got one shampoo, conditioner and body wash.

Monorail service, especially with a ds (9.5 months) was good. Bus service was ok. We only used the bus to go to HS.

Elevators were SLOW. Didn't seem like all 5 were working.

Contemp cafe was good for a quick breakfast. And we are absolutely addicted to the Smoked Turkey sandwich with the challah bread, applebutter, and brie. So good!!! :thumbsup2

That's my observations for now. We definately enjoyed the view from our room and perhaps would stay again if we get another 40% code.

I'll be posting a full trip report on the trip report board. If you have any questions, be happy to answer. :)

just curious....is Chef Mickey's on the end of the building closest to the MK, or is it on the opposite end? I've been looking at pictures and can't place which direction it's in?
